Ancient site of Wat Khun Muang Jai

#VisitAyutthaya Wat Khun Mueang Jai is an ancient abandoned temple located on Rojana Road near Ayutthaya Wittayalai School, Pratu Chai Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The Fine Arts Department has registered it as an ancient site. There is no written evidence of when Wat Khun Mueang Jai was built, but it must have been built before the Ayutthaya period. Wat Khun Mueang Jai is an important temple. During the Ayutthaya period, it was used as a place for the water pouring ceremony to swear allegiance. In addition, many pieces of stone Buddha images were found, including late Dvaravati art, U Thong art or a period slightly before the establishment of Ayutthaya, and Ayutthaya art, which continued until it was completely abandoned in 2310.
