Sercotel Hotel Parque

I am happy to my stay with Secrotel Hotel Praque. I book it after checking reviews from other travelers comment. Yes, price is good and to it's location, it is close to shopping centre, restaurants and supermarkets. Staff are helpful. Buffet breakfast is good. Breakfast restaurant is on the top level of this hotel, we can enjoy stunning ocean view and sunlight while having breakfast. It is bonus. However, a minor thing I like to share is during busy morning especially when restaurant is full house, it always running out of coffee cups, juice glasses as well as cereal bowls. I cannot have to wait a long while for these 3 times from my 5 days breakfast. Maybe hotel can put some signage to suggest guests be eco-friendly minded to re-use glass, cup and bowl when refill. As I have seen some have 5 -6 cups and glass on a table. Bed is comfortable, room is clean with basic things you need. Yes, no electric kettle, no slippers as standard 3 stars hotel do. So, I have no complaint. There has no more noise from constructions, as this is my concern after reading other travelers comments in the pass. So I think all is done. Hotel locates next to taxi, bus station but not close to beach area. It's no problem to me for this winter travel. I am very happy for all. Definitely recommend it to others.

The accommodation needs updating and needs TLC until they get round to it. It is very clean, staff are friendly and happy to help. where we had fridge and kettle need to have double plug, they was quick and gave me a extension lead to use both together. it a shame bar inside not opened as we had windy nights and we was sat pool bar with patio heaters on which i didnt do. Lovely that in your accommodation you are told about put your towels down around the pool, that they get removed if not being used so no blocking sunbeds. could do with some paperwork for you to keep on your visit on what time you choice for meals and also what time snacks available on the all inclusive. It a lovely touch that you get a towel for you to use at the pool i not been to hotel that gives you them.. Food is good for a 3star only thing would be a problem in higher season is only 1 toaster in dining room. I full enjoyed my stay here. I would stay here again.. YOU ALL SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF XX I know people have put about road outside but the hotel can not be held responsible for this as it down to council..
Sunset Bay Club

Great location, 10 minutes walk down to the beach. There are 2 pools, one heated and always sun beds available. Did hear they had a booking system for these but we never had to. Bars, restaurants and a shop on the complex which was useful. The only issue was they had live music on from 4pm every day and it seemed unnecessarily loud. It didn’t bother us too much but can imagine it would be a nightmare if you had a balcony closer to the bars. Apartment was great, balcony overlooking the pool and very well equipped. The staff left a bottle of wine for my partners 30th while we were there which was a nice touch. Would stay again, but would definitely recommend emailing ahead and asking for a room away from the bars.
AxelBeach Maspalomas - Apartments and Lounge Club - Adults Only

I have stayed at the AxelBeach numerous times, but sadly the refurbishment of the rooms means this was my last time. The refurbished rooms are oppressive and dingy – all the walls have been covered in a dark, depressing wallpaper, which is only broken up by white, cold lights. The stone floors have been covered with black linoleum, which looks depressing and dirty. The refurbishment is being done as cheaply as possible, leaving the colourful kitchen tiles intact and the bathroom mostly untouched. For some bizarre reason AstroTurf has been placed on the balcony floors. They have taken what used to be cheap-ish beach hotel rooms and given them a morgue/sauna makeover. This is really frustrating as, otherwise, the place remains pleasant – the pool is still great, the staff are lovely (Kevin, the receptionist, deserves a particular shout-out) and the gym has been re-done really well. The location is super handy as well.
Hotel Ventus

I had two persons room in the northern corner of the building. The room is spacious with large bathroom and a corridor and built-in wardrobe. The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. The balcony was towards south-east, not very large with a table and two chairs. But as wind in El Medano is always strong and comes from the east it was not comfortable to use it, also WiFi doesn't work on the balcony and part of the room away from the corridor. There room has a fridge and electronic safety box, and TV. There are two electric sockets next to the beds, but unfortunately only one socket next to the table, which is already engaged by the fridge. The hotel staff speaks well English and is friendly. One can access the hotel either with electronic card or with PIN code of the main door and your room. The PINs are sent by email, so I suppose late arrival after 19.00, when reception closes, is possible. The hotel is located almost in the middle of El Medano, next to the only shopping center of the city featuring SuperDino and quite noisy bar. There is also smaller Supermercado Guai in 200 m. But take into accound El Medano is a very small town 1 km in diameter, so everything is in walking distance. El Medano beach is just in 300 m from the hotel. All beaches in El Medano and to the east of it are open for the wind. So they are mostly occupied by the surfers and kite-surfers. There is a small part of El Medano beach protected by the mole. 3 km to the west there is La Tejita beach, which is covered from the wind by the Montaña Roja, also offering great views over the area. There is buses 411 and 408 from El Medano going to San Isidro, where you can change to bus to the Southern Airport, other directions or do more substantial shopping in Mercadona, Lidl or HiperDino. San Isidro bus station has a machine for topping up Ten+ bus cards. In the evining people gather at Plaza del Medano, which is quite vibrant place taking into account the town is tiny comparing to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas.

Aparthotel El Galeón

Relatively close to the city center and bus station (10 minutes walk), but need to climb going to the hotel. The staff helpfull. Very spacious, clean apartaments and bathroom as well. Equipped with portable air conditioner and nice, stylish furniture. Excellent breakfast with variety of hot dishes! What is bad in my opinion: ground floor apartament without balcony with view to the very close rock wall and street. No soundproofing at all. You can hear all the conversations from the main hall and reception. What was the worst, the street is by the wall of the apartament and without soundproofing windows you hear all the cars passing by. For light sleepers (like me) it is not a good place to have comfortable rest and sleep at night.
Hotel Rural Triana
4.4/519 Reviews
Great location just on edge of village so very quiet but easy to get to restaurants supermarket . Reception person very friendly and welcoming, breakfast staff also very friendly and quick to ensure you’re satisfied offering more coffee etc. Court yard and terrace great to chill. Large room Good shower and bathroom. Ample plug points. Brilliant continental breakfast with wide range of meats cheeses bread pastries yoghurt etc of (no hot food) Noisy neighbours clunking about due to design of building. You can here water running and toilet flushing. Also noise from staff preparing breakfast etc - ideally wear earplugs if you’re a light sleeper . Don’t let this put you off though the positives outweigh this.
Hotel Diamar

this hotel is perfect if you want easy way to get to airport the next day. there is a bus stop 5 min walk away, the buses connect all the island. the staff are efficient and polite. they helped me print my boarding pass at no charge. I didn't try the dinner buffet(half a dozen dishes)but looked good for about 18 euros. there is a big map of arrecife on the wall that you can photo and use to get around the city. we had a sea view room, recommended the view is nice.
Elba Castillo San Jorge & Antigua Suite Hotel
4/556 Reviews
It is worth pointing out this is two hotels conjoined. The Elba and the San Jorge. they are essentially the same in that they are a suite based set of rooms. We stayed the previous week out of Caleta with friends for a birthday and wanted to stay longer, so sorted flights back a week later and walked into the hotel asking if they had any rooms. Had to book through their website app as that is how they manage bookings but no problem at all. A Sea View Delux room consisting of a bathroom, kitchenette, lounge (with an extra bed and sofa-bed and a large bedroom with two beds (basically slightly smaller doubles each) and very comfortable. The hotel(s) have lots of sun beds out the back facing the sea and at one end a bit of music and animacian stuff, the other quiet and then in the middle of the San Jorge a large quadrangle with a pool that is super quiet (and sunny). No music at all. Not sure if allowed but I guess not. Really one of the most relaxing places we have been. The hotel is a warren really but you soon get used to it. It has two cats: a black friendly one always trying to blag food and fuss, and a mostly white one that is very aloof. We laughed when she (I think it is a she) waltzed up to us waiting for a lift, trotted in and indicated the floor she wanted with a nod as I pointed at buttons. She had a place on the first floor she liked her mornings and could not be bothered to walk I guess. Staff are great and work very hard (especially the maids). The rooms are very clean but throughout there is a slight tiredness (not uncommon given the sea air) Now food is one of those marmite things and in all places people love, hate and in between. For us, the food was very poor and amongst the worse in any buffet-style hotel we stayed in. Exactly the same at breakfast, horrible coffee and the evening dinner consisted on exactly the same formulaic salad every day, few if any fresh veg and nothing fresh and largely very overcooked and tough meats. Nearly all the fruit seemed out of tins. A real contrast to the fantastic AI food we had the previous week in a budget hotel. Now for us, it was poor (and we ate out a lot as a result), but the evening entertainment bar is a friendly place and several we spoke with loved the food saying it was very good. So not having a pop, just our experience and taste perhaps are different. Would we come again, oh hell yes. No point posting pics of the sea view as there are ample, but a lovely location, very nice staff, very relaxing place to lounge about. We just would book not to eat (maybe breakfast), but then the rooms have a small kitchen and we know many of the great restaurants in town: it is also 5 mins from my favourite sports bar ! The review summary profile (overwhelmingly Excellent, then strongly very good and below that not even amounting to 64% of 'good' ratings) tells you everything. A very good and reasonably priced place and well worth a stay.
