I chose this hotel purely for its location in the ”Tenjin shopping district,” and only after checking in did I realize it offered ”all-around convenience.” You can easily handle all your shopping and dining needs within walking distance – just around the corner downstairs is the Aeon supermarket, super convenient for snacks, souvenirs, or emergency items. If you want to try local flavors, you don't have to go far; the highly-rated Shinshin Ramen is nearby. After a tiring day of exploring, a bowl of tonkotsu ramen is wonderfully satisfying. For a hotel in a major shopping hub, the biggest surprise was the room size. It was significantly more spacious than other budget hotels I've stayed in. I could open up my 28-inch suitcase, and there was still plenty of space to walk around and put my carry-on bags without feeling cramped like a ”small box.” Plus, getting to the airport is super convenient; from the subway station near the hotel, it's just a few stops to Fukuoka Airport. No need to rush or meticulously plan your travel time way in advance, which is fantastic for travelers with luggage.

The location is incredibly convenient, right next to the subway station. It's also just a short walk to the canal-side night market, which was a great bonus. We even happened to catch the annual Yamakasa Festival, making the whole area incredibly lively and vibrant! The only minor drawback was that the room felt a bit damp. However, the buffet breakfast was quite good. Overall, a positive stay!

The room was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene standards that made me feel at ease. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient—close to subway stations, restaurants, and convenience stores—making it ideal for independent travelers. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. They were also happy to assist with any questions. The room came equipped with a washing machine and microwave, which is especially useful for longer stays or travelers who need to do laundry. The Wi-Fi was stable, suitable for both work and entertainment. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, with well-rounded facilities and attentive service. It’s a solid choice for solo travelers or business trips.

The room was a little smaller than another hotel with breakfast I've stayed at, but that wasn't a big deal. The toiletries provided were limited to toothpaste and toothbrushes; it would have been even better if skincare products were also available. Breakfast was Western-style, and guests could make their own pizzas.

Overall, the triple room was quite satisfying. **Facilities:** The triple bed setup was quite suitable for a family of three, and the beds were very comfortable. There's a table to place belongings and a small sofa. It was nice to have a bathtub in the bathroom, though the sink was quite small – I didn't expect much anyway. The shelf above the sink was also small and couldn't hold many items. A small wardrobe was a nice addition. **Cleanliness:** The room was cleaned daily, and the bedding was tidied, which kept it very neat and tidy. **Location:** The geographical location is excellent. It's close to both bus and subway stations, with plenty of restaurants nearby, and it's also conveniently close to several large shopping malls. **Service:** There was a front desk staff member from Taiwan who was easy to communicate with. Aside from two English-speaking foreign staff, communication with the other Japanese staff was quite challenging. Maps were available for self-service at the front desk, and I could generally figure things out by guessing. **Overall:** I was quite satisfied with the room, and I would consider staying here again on my next visit.

Quite disappointed. Having had a very satisfying experience at a Comfort Hotel in Himeji previously, I chose this American chain again. Unfortunately, this Fukuoka location was quite a letdown. The room's cleanliness was subpar; the bedding felt scratchy, and the pillowcases were visibly worn. Worse, there were noticeable stains on the duvet, clearly visible even through the cover. This made me genuinely uncomfortable, especially as I had initially booked subsequent stays here. I promptly canceled those reservations and decided to find alternative accommodation. The complimentary breakfast was truly underwhelming – sparse and completely uninspired. I ended up eating out the next morning. Fortunately, there's a breakfast street conveniently located on the basement level of the station.

Location for transportation link is great. close to nanakuma train line and tenjin bus station. there is a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. but a bit far to walk to airport train line. Lots of eateries in radius 400 meters. Donki also just 2 blocks away. Mandarake is about 800 meters, but still walking distance. The hotel room is quite spacious with comfy bed. Fast hot water in shower. The minus is the pijama/bathrobe they provide is really small ! Even my wife who usually wear S size clothes say this pijama is a bit tight. for males, i cant even button it. This never been a problem in many other hotels we ever stayed at in japan. When we asked the receptionist to change for bigger ones, they said they only have this one size for everyone. LOL Another minus, the housekeeping never clean the mug, glasses, and change coasters during room clean-up. We only requested room clean-up every 2 days during our 5 nights stay. other than that, we were happy at Koko Hotel Tenjin

A good location for shopping and nightlife and convenient for travel with a near Metro station and also quite near Hakata Station. The room was a bit dated and I'm not sure about their cleaning policy. If companies are going to claim to do certain practices (not change bedding) due to environmental concerns, then these should be joined up. Plenty of single use plastics for instance. Also feel Japanese hotels should be more considerate and flexible with check in and check out times. 11 check out, 3pm check in is too bigger a gap - but this appears to be industry standard across the country and not a complaint of this hotel alone. However, this is a minor complaint.

Luckily, I managed to book a triple room about two weeks in advance. After all, when traveling to Japan, room size and bed dimensions are always key factors for me. The hotel rate also offered excellent value for money, especially for the peak summer season. The room type we booked this time featured a separate wet and dry area, which was perfect for our family's needs. It had both a shower (with massage features) and a bathtub, and the cleanliness was exceptional. Every evening, I'd come back and enjoy a relaxing bath – it was wonderfully comfortable. I have to mention, the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. There's a shuttle bus directly from Terminal 6 of the International Hall (exit 6) that takes you straight to the hotel entrance (about 20 meters walk) in roughly 20 minutes (just one stop) for 310 JPY. This saved us the hassle of dragging luggage up and down subway stairs. On our last day, with luggage, a taxi to the airport cost around 80 RMB. If you're planning a day trip to Northern Kyushu, the meeting point at the Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel is incredibly convenient. Stepping out the back door, you'll find two Family Mart convenience stores, a Yoshinoya, and several other dining options. We saw many local Japanese people dining there, and it's super easy to grab drinks and snacks. It's also right next to Hakata Station's Chikushi Exit, making access to Shinkansen, JR lines, and the subway incredibly convenient. This was my seventh visit to Fukuoka, and I would definitely choose Forza again next time. I've already recommended it to friends and family.

The hotel appears brand new, with excellent facilities, and its exterior also looks quite impressive. The staff were very courteous, and complimentary toiletries and coffee are available for unlimited refills at the front desk. I booked a triple room; the beds were on the smaller side, but the room offered a bit more space than what you'd typically find in Japanese hotels. The hotel's location is definitely a standout feature. Most of your shopping and dining needs can be met within a 5-minute walk. For instance, there's an Arc'teryx store with no queues and an Ichiran Ramen right outside, plus a large shopping mall directly across the street. Overall, it was excellent, and I would definitely book again.

GGuest User1. Very spacious room for this price point to be honest. Could be because it's not a major city... 2. Kitchen equipment like induction cooker and pot and bowls and utensils were provided! Makes it possible to cook your own meals (or even just Maggie mee) fridge was very big so can buy drinks to store 3. Location was alright. Located along small alley but very near main road leading to shopping street and Kokura station. 4. Aircon and heater worked well. Great for winter weather 5. Bathroom ventilator was very strong. To the extent that it feels very cold after taking a shower. We tried closing the bathroom door at night and it was literally like a freezer in the morning when we open it. But also because of the ventilator, our clothes dried fast indoors 🥶 6. Now to the pain points. First got to be the facility management and check in check out process. This property does auto check in meaning there is no physical staff to handle your check in check out throughout. There is no receptionist at all. I made my booking 2- 3 hours prior to arriving at property. At the front door we were prompted to input entry passcode which we had no idea what it was (it's not the reservation number provided by the booking partner like Agoda or trip.com) tried to contact both the hotel helpline (there was a Jp phone number at the entrance but that's all, no other info whatsoever) and also escalated to Agoda (as I made my booking through Agoda for first nights) but no ans. In the end we had to enter property when someone unlocked the front entrance using her own passcode before we could speak to the helpdesk through the tablets. So it turns out that they claim most travellers would make their reservation at least a day prior to arrival, which was why system didn't capture my booking (yet ironically they allowed booking for same day check in .... When they clearly cannot manage the whole process) shouldn't there be more effort being put in to monitor for same day booking so the traveller doesn't get stuck at the front entrance especially in winter weather? We had to sit at the park nearby while trying to contact the helpdkesks but couldn't get through till the end...... The whole check in process was rather manual, basically you enter the info as prompted on screen then video call the helpline agent to verify before you'll get your passcode to your room. (All through tablet) Security seems alright if you're ok with the idea of using a keypad lock instead of having a physical room card? I guess customers just have to always make sure no one is looking when entering the passcode at the front door. Btw same passcode is used to enter hotel front entrance and for your room lock. All in all the biggest issue we found was the check in check out process. Overall stay was above average.

MMiyu BirdiePersonal opinion as a female Asian traveler. Location: 20 mins walk from Hakata station. 4 mins walk to Gion bus stop or canal city bus stop, both go to Hakata station in around 10 mins. Also, 15 mins walk to Kawabata Shopping Arcade and Canal CityHakata. There are not many restaurants nearby, only convenient stores around the area. Better eat before returning to the hotel. There is a MaxValu Express (open for 24 hrs, 2 levels: 1st floor drugsstore and B1 supermarket) 4 mins walk from the hotel. Great option for late night snacks, drinks, daily necessities, and tax-free shopping. Room: small and a bit old, cleanliness ok, no bath tub only shower stall. Shower water is not hot enough. Very poor sound insulation (recommended to use earplugs when sleepping. Provided on 1st floor of hotel). You can hear almost every single activity happening next door(literally meaning). Light switches far away from bed, which is a bit inconvenient. Front desk: it is an unmanned hotel. Self check-in via smartphone prior (utilizing the QR code) or via computer on 1st floor. Self check-out via tablet provided inside the room or computer on 1st floor. Using password to enter room. There is a female staff member in the lobby area in the morning if needed help for anything. She doesn't speak much English but is very friendly and willing to help. Also, you can text the hotel staff member for assistance if needed via the room tablet provided. They reply quickly. Amenities: self-service, self luggage storage, only basic items provided. There is no ice maker and only 1 laundry machine on the 1st floor (always being occupied). All in all, Pros: though the hotel is unmanned, I find it pretty chill, easy and efficient as long as you figure out how things work (not hard at all, perhaps more accessible for younger visitors). Cons: You really have to lower your expectations for everything else. I personally feel it is more like a hostel than a hotel. But considering it is the Hakata area and with this affortable price, can't murmur.

EEthan Dun KapThe hotel is technically in between 3 subway stations — Hakata (7 - 8 mins walk), Gion (7 - 8 mins walk), and Kushida Shrine (2 mins walk) — and also located conveniently near Canal City Hakata shopping mall, Kushida shrine, and many stores and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness of the hotel overall was good but a little less positive for the room itself, as some parts of the washroom’s privacy blinds looked like they aren’t cleaned regularly and edges of the room’s carpet were often not cleaned well (wearing slippers in the room and not touching the privacy blinds easily mitigates these concerns). A personal issue and warning for taller guests would be that the position of the toilet in the narrow bathroom (at least for the ‘cozy double’ room) requires users to face a section of the wall quite closely when seated, which would likely be uncomfortable/ impossible for people taller than 175 cm to use while sitting down (the attached photo is taken with a 0.6x camera lens). The air conditioning for the rooms was shared by a central air system which cooled the rooms well, but it is worth noting for those with sensitive noses that there was a very faint but noticeable odour of old cigarette smoke in the room despite the current no-smoke policy. The coin laundry room is very small with only 1 washing machine, 1 dryer, and 1 hybrid washer-dryer machine (also, no coin exchange machine is present), so I recommend washing mid-day or in the early evening if possible. The front desk receptionists and cleaning staff were kind and approachable (in both English and Japanese), the check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and the hotel did offer free luggage storage services after check-out. Overall, an enjoyable and budget-friendly stay.

WWariyukiThe hotel is decent and clean. It doesn’t provide any free coffee in the room or lobby. It also doesn’t have any bath tub or public bath. Overall it’s a pleasant stay there.
