2-Star Hotels in Quebec, Canada

Stayed for one night. Parking is inconvenient. It is better to choose the internal parking lot provided by the hotel, which costs 30 dollars. This time I parked the car on the roadside outside the hotel entrance. The next day, the passenger window was lowered and someone came in to search the bottom. No valuables were lost, but it was a shock. Although I have bought insurance (small loss compensation), it is still very troublesome to claim. Since the car was not damaged, I just gave up.

Despite being arranged on arrival, at 3 am, a late check-out was given by the person at the reception at 11 am, informing of the check-in at 11 am. I argued that I had requested the late check-out, but very rudely, he said that nothing was registered!!!!

Great family hotel. A bit noisy with hockey teams visiting, but that's expected with children. The pool was awesome for the kids, breakfast was simple but nice. The hotel staff were friendly and the whole place was clean. We would highly recommend this Super 8 to anyone in that area.

This is an excellent and afforable place to stay in Montreal. Hop on the 747 from the airport and you can get off a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The entrance is very secure. The staff on the desk are by far the friendliest of any hotel I have ever stayed at. They have a big coffee machine which has great coffee in their lobby with lots of snacks available. They also have breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very modern with a comfy bed, complimentary wifi, smart tv and plenty of hot water in the shower. Not the biggest room but when I stay at a hotel, the most important thing for me is location, cleanliness, comfort of the bed and a hot shower. The Hotel Le Coach checks all these boxes for me! The friendliness of the staff is an added bonus! For a hassle free, afforable and convenient place to stay in Montreal, I would recommend staying here.

Very cost-effective, located in the heart of downtown, convenient for subway, easy to walk, friendly service, unique experience of prison building. I will stay here again. Nice experience in jail hostel Ottawa and nice memories in Canada.

The shower is not so good. The location is very good. It's 10 minutes walk from Gare d'autocar. The price-performance ratio is high. The two female receptionists I met were very nice. The soundproofing of the room is not good. I have to touch my roommate. But it's a fully enclosed space with a charging port and a separate TV space. It's ok for sleeping. There is a convenience store next to it in 1 minute.

Good experience overall. bed and room was nice and clean. person on site were nice . very good breakfast with good quality. we will recommand to our friends. location is good because it is close to the highway.

Very nice location, friendly and helpful staff!! Free breakfast is great, delicious coffee and bagels. But there are not enough toilets. And the kitchen is quite small so it gets very crowded during dinner hours (plus people like chatting in the kitchen while watching a pot of water boiling). I didn't want to line up to use the stove or microwave to reheat my food so I had raw dinner during my stay. If you plan your meals and cooking well enough you should be fine.

We received great service during our stay in Quebec City. Two roomy rooms for our two families. The kids loved the recreation areas: darts, foosball, billiards, TV room. The adults appreciated the friendly service, from the booking process to our actual stay. We could put our food in the refrigerator, re-freeze our ice packs which is very handy when you’re on a family road trip. Quebec City did not disappoint and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The Auberge is right in the old city so you can walk everywhere.

We had a great stay at the Super 8 for our Quebec City trip. Staff are bilingual and helpful. The room was bigger than I expected, super clean and we had a jacuzzi! Beds were very comfortable and shower had lots of hot water and good pressure. The room had a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The pool was my kid’s favourite. The water slide was very fun for kids and adults alike. The hot tub was so relaxing and I was able to watch my kids play from the hot tub so that was nice. The only suggestion I would make is the breakfast was rather lacking. And the pool towels are very thin and small. We had a great time and would not hesitate to book again.

Front on the highway side very noisy, at the rear probably less. Sheet metal bed base (don't hit it especially if someone is sleeping). Only one ice machine for the entire hotel. No milk or cream in the fridge for coffee. A few more small adjus**ents, new and clean hotel.

Terrible experience at this hotel. The location was close to downtown but that’s the only positive. Upon arrival there was no staff at the front desk, this was at 3:30pm not the middle of the night. There was a sign saying they don’t have enough staff and to just wait. After waiting for half an hour someone showed up who was extremely rude and seemed annoyed that I was checking in. I’m not going to complain about the hotel looks or the fact that there is no elevator since I knew that before booking, however no one cleaned the room during my stay and there was no hot water. Their excuse was that there is no one to fix the problem because it was a weekend. That’s a lie, this is a large city with 24 service for this type of issue, my dad lived here before. When I complained about not having water they offered to give me a refund for the remainder of my stay and kick me to the curb. Worst hotel experience ever! Stay at your own risk, you have been warned.

I’ll start this review by saying something nice: this is an inexpensive hotel. If price is your one concern, read no further. I’d stayed at this hotel twice before. It’s more of a glorified dorm or hostel than anything else. And that was OK in the past. On this visit, it seemed that the management had just stopped paying attention. The chain on the toilet was broken. The carpet in the halls is dirty and threadbare. The blinds in our room were askew (see photo). One power outlet didn’t have a plastic fitting around it, so plugs fell out (see photo). The sink basin in the bathroom is detached partially from the wall. There was no hand or bar soap anywhere in the room, which seemed odd, especially for this time in history. There was an iron but no ironing board in the closet, which did however contain a full-sized child’s playpen. The hot water heater takes up half the bathroom (see photo). The towels were like tissue paper. But it was clean! Just be forewarned: you’re getting exactly what you pay for here. I think I’m done with this place.

Wonderful little hotel. Tidy room with 2 comfortable double beds. Lovely air-conditioning. The breakfast buffet was a generous assortment of breads, meat, cheese, and yoghurt. We will definitely stay here again. Walking distance to many inexpensive dining options.

My family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 3 days. Yes, it's an old and dated hotel, but the room was OK, sheets were clean, free parking, free breakfast with plenty of choices (buffet with items served on demand by the hotel staff), warm pool to dip into after a long day in the City - all in all, it met our expectations. 15 min direct bus ride to downtown Quebec, direct bus to Montmorency Falls, easy access to major roads for out-of-town travellers. Very few TV channels in English, most are in French, but we did not come to Quebec City to watch TV. The only real complaint is that WiFi was unreliable - fast at one point, complete out the next. But overall, it is a pretty solid offering for price-conscious travellers.

This is clearly not a 5-star hotel in the normal sense of the term – it’s extremely basic with almost no services. But our experience there was 5-star - a big gamble that paid off for us. I had never heard of an ‘automatic hotel’ when I found this on the CAA website while looking for a place for 2 nights in Quebec City before our cruise. Most hotels in the Old Quebec area near the shore and cruise port are extremely expensive. This moderately-priced hotel seemed too good to be true, so I wondered what the catch was. The ‘catch’ is that you are on your own – it is ‘staffless’ in the evenings and overnight, and there are few amenities. I wondered if it were legit and safe, but we decided to take the chance since CAA listed it. So glad we did! Entry was a little scary as we arrived after dark and the outside door of the double-entry doors stuck a bit, making me fear that we were locked out. But after a push the outside door opened, and we used our code (sent by email a couple of days before our reservation) to gain entry through the inside door. From there, we retrieved our room key from the automated lock box system in the lobby (instructions also received via email), and voila – we were in. Tip – to make this process easier, make sure to watch the video that accompanies the emailed instructions – it shows how to get your key from the lock box. The room was quite lovely and clean, with an antique writing desk, comfortable bed, and updated washroom. The building itself is of course vintage, built right along the rampart wall high above the coast. Wifi was reliable and extra supplies (towels, soap, etc) were in a closet in the hallway if you needed them. Other than that, it was very quiet. Best reasons for booking this hotel – quiet, comfortable, no frills, and walking distance to all the major tourist spots – Citadel, Plains of Abraham, etc. We got 20,000 steps in walking around them all in one day, enjoyed the view from our room, and saved a bundle of $$. Tip: We thought we could walk to the cruise port as it’s only an 8 minute walk, but there’s a steep cobblestone road involved. The day we left, it had rained and the stones were wet, so we decided it was safer to take a taxi. We could have walked carefully if it had been dry.

The gentleman at the counter is Chinese. Very polite and polite. Particularly friendly? He even took my suitcase upstairs. grateful! The room has a microwave and refrigerator. There is a coffee machine at reception. The greeting was great. The bed pillows are clean. From hotels to all attractions. Old port and so on, the journey takes about 20-25 minutes.

We have booked the Hostel Québec without pushing the search by reliing on the reputation of the Hotels Jaro, but sincerely it is not really the top of the brand. This hotel was probably at its peak in the 1970s, but now fifty years later, it is obsolete and in a state of decrepitity. If it were a $50 hotel per night I would have been indulgent, but it is far from being this price except perhaps the underground rooms with 1 double bed, otherwise we would expect much better. The room was quite clean and the service was acceptable (but a little smile would have been an extra). In addition, this hotel does not offer any service on the ground; no indoor pool and for the ”continental lunch” it was a lunch bag in the room with a apple, yogurt, juice and a muffin (maybe for $3 in it). We are very happy to find a good place to sleep with nothing more and at a high price.

Came to Quebec City for Carnaval. Chose this hotel for the location and price and it delivered on both fronts. Right in the middle of Old Quebec, we could see Chateau Frontenac from our window and were across the street from parking and surrounded by restaurants and shops. 5 minutes to the river and 5 minutes to Carnaval site. Very helpful staff and cozy accommodations. Room had bed, TV with Roku, sink, desk, chairs, dresser, closet, and lamp. Soap and 2-in-1 shampoo provided as well as towels and face cloths. Bathroom was close and had everything you need. Check in and out was a breeze. Clean all around. Do not book this accommodation if you struggle with stairs, as there is no way to get into the building otherwise. We stayed on the 4th floor and the stairs were steep and uneven but we didn't mind it and it added to the charm. Ceilings can be low in some places. Only lost one star because of the bathroom, it was difficult to access the toilet without ducking or hitting your head on the sloped ceiling, and the bed was a little uncomfortable.

After checking in at the Econo Lodge Quebec City Airport- 7320 Wilfred-Hamel Boulevard, my sister and I, and her 4 year son settled into our room. Once we got into bed, I felt something underneath the fitted mattress sheet. I stuck my hand underneath to retrieve it, and it was a 8 inch switch blade. It was on top of the mattress cover and under the fitted sheet. There are two problems here: A. Safety- Thank god the switch blade was closed and not open, and that my 4 year old nephew did not find it and hurt himself with it. B. Hygiene- There is no way housekeeping did not see the switch blade when removing the sheets from the previous hotel guest; therefor, the sheets were likely not changed. We reported it to the hotel front desk staff. They simply told us that they would try to contact the previous hotel guest to return the knife. We requested that the manager call us when available. The hotel manager called us and told us we should have requested to change rooms. It was late and my 4 year old nephew was sleeping after a long day of travel. This is unacceptable and certainly not the hospitable standards that a hotel should carry. The manager refused to reimburse us for the room and did not apologize. I would never recommend this hotel due to its very low safety and hygiene standards.

The boss can speak Chinese, so it’s kind to chat! According to the boss's recommendation, I went to the Crystal Falls and the Church of Our Lady. It was a worthwhile trip! The hotel is very nice and the breakfast is very convenient!

There is free parking, not far from the city center, breakfast is okay, the room rate is cheap, the first recommendation for self-driving tour.

We spent one night here and had a suite with balcony and full kitchen. It was perfect for us as we wanted to make our lunch for the next day's outing. Our suite was very clean. Breakfast was adequate but on the salty side (eggs, sausages). Yogourt was great. Bananas had probably been refrigerated. Both bananas we took looked great on the outside but were rotten in the middle. Coffee was fine. Pool was too hot but it has been a hot summer. They provide itty bitty towels. Great location in the village near restaurants and activities. Front desk wanted us to pay $20.00 for parking and tried to scare us by saying it wasn't safe in the public parking lot. Everything was fine and we were a short walk away.

The hotel is generally good, the rooms are relatively clean, the main thing I like is the swimming pool and hot pool, which is very suitable for relaxing travel, the swimming pool has a relatively large slide, suitable for couples or with children, the location is also very close to Tangshan, and there is McDonald’s next to it . The downside is that the room is a bit small, the toilet is small and there is no bathtub, the breakfast is average, the air conditioner and the bathroom exhaust fan are a bit noisy

J’ai louer une chambre à ce motel car après avoir souvent passé devant lors de précédents séjours à Tremblant, je le trouvais joli de l’intérieur. Après avoir essayé d’appeler pour des arrangements pré séjour, impossible de communiquer avec les gens , incapable pour eux de comprendre le français correctement et pour nous de les comprendre non plus . A notre arrivée: - chambre très très désuète et mal entretenue, manque de peinture à certains endroits , manque des moulures partout , on vois l’extérieur par les côtés de la porte ( en hiver ) - salle de bain affreuse , aucune pression d’eau dans la salle de bain , porte de salle de bain toute écaillée. - lit croché penchant sur un côté - odeur de nourriture asiatique tellement forte que l’odeur venant du logement des propriétaires entraits dans la chambre…. Mettons que pour un séjour à Tremblant on ne s’attend pas à cela . Payer qques dollars de plus pour aller ailleurs …. Désolant !!
