The hotel's location is great, and it has its own underground parking with plenty of spaces, which is perfect for guests traveling by car. The breakfast was also good, I liked it. The room was spacious and comfortable. I did notice that the pillowcases hadn't been changed, but after mentioning it to the front desk, they quickly brought us new ones, which was satisfactory.

I researched a lot of hotels in Ipoh. Most hotels are spread out around the Ipoh “downtown”. If you’re arriving on a bus from KL, the bus terminal Amanjaya is 9km away. 20 mins on the local bus will take you to Terminal Kidd and it’s a 15 mins walk to M Boutique. I wouldn’t suggest this option if you have a lot of suitcases as the walk is on the main roads with cars and truck zipping past. Location is surrounded by industrial and car dealerships, but once arrived you’re surprised! They live up to their name - Boutique! They have been in that location for 13 years. Staff are friendly and helpful! Room (single room with no windows) was clean and comfortable and provided the amenities after a long day on the bus. And the hotel - SMELLED nice. Like a high end hotel. It was a nice treat if you’re a solo traveler looking for comfort on a budget. I tried to extend an extra night, however Trip were only showing double and twin rooms - out of my budget for a solo traveler. Asking at reception if the single room was available, they checked and I paid directly to hotel for a 2nd night. Your loss Trip! Hotel amenities were great. Hot shower, WiFi and air conditioning working. It’s a 10-15 min walk to the old city. When I arrived around 4 PM, a lot of things are already closed and quiet. Walking around in the dark back to the hotel was a little uneasy, but you can easily just arrange a car to GRAB. Highly recommended!

Newly renovated with great self-service check in system, though some details need attention. Overall, I really liked the newly renovated room. The self-service process is seamless, and the message guidelines are very clear—though the video quality could be improved, it was still easy enough to understand. A few things to note: Parking: The underground car park doesn't have a direct link to the main building (likely because it's an older building that was refurbished). Room Details: The bedsheets were worn to the point of pilling ,and the curtain holder fell off during my stay, possibly due to the wall material. Despite these minor maintenance issues, I was satisfied with the renovation details. Everything still feels very fresh and new!

The hotel's strengths are the spacious rooms and the presence of a bathtub, making for a generally comfortable stay. The cleanliness was acceptable and met basic standards, but the overall environment was quite ordinary, with nothing particularly special about it. The only minor letdown was the service details: even though we booked a triple room, they only provided two sets of toothbrushes and bath towels. We were even charged an extra RM5 for an additional bath towel, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, if you're looking for a short stay and prioritize space and basic comfort, this hotel is a decent option, but there's room for improvement in terms of service details.

This hotel is right in the city center—just a short walk to Ipoh Padang. Within about 5 minutes on foot, you can reach many popular spots like Concubine Lane and Plan B, which makes everything very convenient. The hotel’s lobby and restaurant are both located on the 12th floor, offering nice views of parts of Ipoh. The front desk service is good, and the hotel’s security guards are also very polite. The room isn’t very big, but it’s well-equipped and clean. The only downside is that the parking area inside the hotel is quite small with limited spaces. However, the hotel provides an alternative parking area and even offers a free shuttle service. Honestly, it’s only about a 100-meter walk away anyway. 😝

The property feels quite run-down for a 3-star hotel, especially considering it has been operating for less than 10 years. Many of the facilities appear aged and poorly maintained. The car park has swallows flying around with nests present, which may result in bird droppings on vehicles. The swimming pool was not clean during my stay. On the positive side, the rooms are spacious, and having a bathtub in every room is a nice feature.

I had a wonderful and peaceful stay at Tambun Retreat Ipoh. The place is very quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by beautiful nature, which makes it perfect for a short getaway away from the busy city. The room was clean, comfortable, and well prepared when we arrived. I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the greenery around the property. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend Tambun Retreat to everyone.

Its a newly refurbished hotel. Within city center. Walking distance to all shops and eateries. Can even walk to taiping lake gardens. Room is very spacious. Big bathroom, water pressure nice. Rooftop swumming pool. Only setback is a bit noisy during nite time as hotel is next the main road. Did not try the food.

The hotel is in a great location, but parking is a bit limited. The bed linen had a slight smell, but after I mentioned it, they quickly changed it, which was appreciated. The room cleaning service was excellent. The night staff didn’t seem as welcoming, but the morning staff was much friendlier. Overall, it was a pleasant stay!

This is a very new hotel that has just opened. The layout of the room/unit is wide and spacious. The bathroom is however split between the toilet and the shower. It can be a bit small for that matter. Other than that it is a very good place to stay.

GGuest UserFrom day 1st to last, staffs were very friendly, attentive and service orientated. Kdos to front office team and house keeping who made out stay awesome and memorable. Location would have been a little better if more shopping malls and variety of food selections are nearby. Overall everything else was just perfect for a regular traveler who needs just a comfortable stay with basic needs.

GGuest UserFor the price, I think it is a reasonable option.  However objectively: 1. The air-cons don't work well - one of them was leaking.  The staff was helpful in sending contractor to fix while we were out but due to miscommunication (because we have connecting rooms) the ”fix” was made to the air-con that wasn't leaking as badly as the one we complained about.  To be fair they offered to swap rooms but we are a family of 5 and it was a hassle to repack and move so we declined.  2. The hot water was very good despite some reviews.  However the shower head in one of the rooms were such that they don't stay put so occasional splashes happened.  3. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned (we have connecting room) - the ”make my room” card wasn't available in one of the room so we hung on just 1 of the room and left the connecting door open, thinking that the cleaners would clean both.  They only cleaned 1.  I guess we could have outright told reception instead of assuming that the cleaners will clean both rooms since we left the connecting door open.  4. I paid for extra bed - but the bedsheet was dusty - they changed it (or at least vacuumed it) after the first night.  5. The beds were quite comfortable, they offered free bottled water and coffee sachets, tv worked, fridges worked, rooms were decent sized, wifi was ok - ample street parking, the lights were ok but one of the rooms had stark white lights instead of the warmer ones. Location was good, just off the highway and across the eateries in Bercham.  6. The staff were helpful and friendly.  Despite the complaints they texted me and constantly called to check if we needed towels (because one of the room weren't cleaned) and they asked twice if we wanted to change rooms (we didn't because of reason stated above).  7. Suggestion - build a small ramp to go up to the hotel from the road if possible.  It will be helpful for luggage and older folks / wheelchairs etc.  All in all, it was a decent stay.  Price was competitive but cleanliness could be better - and air-con/shower heads can be better maintained.

DDarth.Recently stayed at The Cove Hillside in Ipoh, Perak, and it was an exceptional experience. If you're looking for a peaceful, luxurious stay with a stunning natural backdrop, this is the place to be. The apartment complex is situated on a beautiful hillside, offering panoramic views of Ipoh’s lush greenery and limestone hills. Apartment Features: The apartment I stayed in was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. It had an open-concept layout that combined a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy dining nook. The kitchen had all the essentials—fridge, stove, microwave, and even a washing machine, making it perfect for longer stays. The living room had a large flat-screen TV and comfy seating, creating a great space for relaxation. The bedroom was cozy with a large, comfortable bed, and the bathroom had a clean, modern feel with a spacious shower and high-quality amenities. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, especially with Ipoh’s warm weather. Service: While staying at The Cove Hillside, I felt like I had the best of both worlds—privacy and comfort, but with access to excellent service. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering quick check-in/check-out and always willing to help with any requests. Housekeeping was efficient, keeping the apartment spotless during my stay. They also provided helpful information on local attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Amenities: One of the standout features of The Cove Hillside is the range of amenities. The infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking, offering sweeping views of the surrounding hills. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The fitness center is well-equipped with modern machines and free weights, great for staying in shape. There’s also a barbecue area that can be reserved for gatherings, which adds a nice touch for family or group stays. Plus, the complex is gated with 24-hour security, so I felt very safe and secure throughout my stay.

AAnonymous UserI enjoyed my stay overall, especially the cleanliness of the hotel and the excellent customer service. The staff were friendly and attentive, and all the necessary amenities were well provided for guests. However, I was a bit disappointed with the room interior as it did not reflect the Balinese vibe I was expecting. The design and overall atmosphere felt lacking, including the absence of the signature Bali-style aroma or fragrance that usually enhances the experience. Additionally, the hotel does not have a swimming pool, which was a downside for me. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, but there is room for improvement in terms of ambiance and facilities.

ZZhegezhenmeiyouHonestly, the room was really small, probably around 10 square meters. It was clean though. However, there's still a noticeable renovation smell, both in the hallway and the room itself. The air conditioning in the room vibrated all night, making a loud noise that kept me from sleeping well. There are food stalls not far from the hotel, so eating out was decent. I only stayed one night before moving somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers. There are many Yibao hotels, but only a few have high ratings, and the price for this kind of setup felt a bit high. Next time we travel as a family, I'll definitely book two standard rooms. At least then we'll have space to move around; in this one, there wasn't even room to turn around with the whole family in it.

GGuest UserHotel exterior and rooms seems to have some update. Room is quite clean, shower water pressure is good, staff is friendly. Only issue I had was there seems to be some hair oil smell on the pillows, I used a disposable face tower to lay over it to minimize the smell, just a 1 night stay so didn't make a fuss abt it.
