Me & my family's flight back to davao was delayed so I thought we won't be able to check in at the hotel as we arrived late but fortunately they still allowed us to check in even if we didn't make it at their last check in time at 10pm, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Red planet for the warm welcome.
We loved the food at Cafe Adelina!
The location was prime and accessible. Their pool area is instagrammable. It was not crowded and we got the pool to ourselves. Their parking lot is spacious, too!
The service was superb! The booking was done via Trip.com an hour before our check-in and the hotel staffs were very welcoming and warm.
Though we experienced a few power interruptions, their back up electricity was automatically engaged. Nevertheless, we look forward to our next stay.
A Mixed Stay at Apo View Hotel: Room for Improvement
I recently stayed at Apo View Hotel in Davao, booking a twin room for myself and my cousin upon arrival. Given the hotel's reputation, I had fairly high expectations, hoping for a comfortable and top-tier experience. Unfortunately, my first night left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.
The amenities felt outdated, and two major issues stood out: the internet connection was very weak and laggy, and the air-conditioning in our room wasn’t working properly, making the space uncomfortably warm. After a long 24-hour journey, I was too exhausted to raise a complaint that night, but I hoped for a better experience in my second booking — a family room.
Another point of concern was the service at the reception desk. Upon check-in, I stood before the staff without even being acknowledged. What was more frustrating was that another guest who arrived after me was attended to first. A simple greeting or assurance that someone would be with me shortly could’ve made all the difference in that moment.
However, it wasn’t all disappointing. During my first breakfast buffet, I was pleasantly surprised by a friendly and upbeat staff member who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. His cheerful attitude truly brightened my morning and helped shift my perception of the service. I regret not getting his name, but his hospitality deserves to be recognised.
In summary, while Apo View Hotel has potential, especially with its long-standing reputation, there’s certainly room for improvement in terms of guest service and room maintenance. With a few upgrades and more attentive customer care, it could provide the high-standard experience guests expect.
Dissapointing to say the least, place wise. The pictures in their website are old ones, must be taken when the hotel just starts to operate. And no way near the present condition of the building.
Placed is not up to my standard of cleanliness. Building is old, and I killed like 2 cockroaches during our stay. Cable was not working, wifi is very poor signal. No microwave and no fridge.
On the bright side, staff were nice and accomodating. And location is good. Lots of stores around.
Sorry not sorry, but not until they renovate and do something about above issues, most likely won't recommend this place.
Hotel Tropika is an excellent venue for small gatherings. The place is accessible and is close to major facilities. Parking is available but is bit limited. The place also serves good food but nothing too fancy.
I am not sure if the hot and cold showers are functioning properly on the lower floors, but for us who are on the 4th and 8th floors, there is no hot shower available. The showers need to be replaced, as only three holes are functioning. The shower area on the 4th floor is clogged and literally flooded outside the shower room.
In the center of the city, there are 7-11 when you go out, there are bars and American restaurants in the courtyard, and San Pedro Church is also very close.
The decoration style is close to Chinese folk customs, and the overall is relatively comfortable. There is nothing to say about the service in the Philippines. The waiters always smile and try to help you solve all problems.
I found an open market nearby on the Baidu map and feasted on durian and mangosteen.
Special reminder that currently all places in Davao are non-smoking, indoor and outdoor are banned, and durians are also not allowed in the hotel.

AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The air conditioning was perfectly chilled, making my room a relaxing oasis. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. The hotel's big pool was a highlight, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and rejuvenating stay!” 😊

AAnonymous UserIt was a great stay.Location is perfect for travellers who has an earlier flight.it is 5minutes away from the hotel. sorroundings are clean .you can find restaurants nearby. There is laundry store too.accessable if you want to go to the city center there are taxi and jeepneys outside .
YYkhca_TravelsWe arrived a bit late on our first night and were accommodated poorly. After a long day of travel, we encountered several issues with our room arrangements. I had booked two rooms, expecting them to be close to each other, but that was not the case. As a family travelling together, we requested to have our rooms swapped to be nearer, yet we were only allowed to add an extra bed. This was not ideal, especially since my mom couldn't stay alone in a room meant for 6 to 8 people, which I had already paid for.
When I spoke to the front desk, who I believe was the manager on duty at the time, her tone was unpleasing and lacked empathy for us as guests. It was a disappointing negotiation. We also discussed issues with the internet connection, and she seemed unyielding, suggesting that nothing could be done except to pay for a data plan, for which they would provide a modem.
Having stayed at many hotels and being a hotel manager, I can clearly say that our service was inadequate.
YYkhca_TravelsWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the heart of the city. My partner and I experienced excellent service, mainly when an incident arose that required us to visit the hospital. The staff were exceptionally cooperative in providing an incident report, which was incredibly helpful for our insurance reimbursement process.
While the hotel is somewhat older and the amenities could be upgraded, I still felt very comfortable during our stay.
I would recommend this place.

SSteveeOutstanding!!!
Wonderful place with outstanding customer service.
Having breakfast with my booking, water fountain on corridor, staff calling to remind about breakfast and checkout times made all the difference during a busy time in my room.
Thank you Hotel Uno you really made my stay comfortable!
On negative side, my room was in a desperate need for an upgrade.
GGuest UserThe location is the city, ambiance is good, room is clean and tidy.
Unfortunately the staff in the reception is rude and unhelpful. I politely request for a additional pillows since my husband has a medical condition. He needs to have 2-3 pillows for him to elevate his head while sleeping. However the front desk staff strongly informed me that they are fully booked and she cannot provide an additional pillows since the pillows are all consumed.
So I just kept quiet and proceed to our room. So I ask one of the staff who help us in our luggage if he can spare me 2 more pillows. Good thing he provided us with 2 more pillows when he came back to our room. I understand if they are fully booked but that is not the problem of the client. Hotel Management should prepare extra pillows incase client will have their request. Management people in Hop Inn Hotel kindly conduct a seminar on your staff how to handle customer service. Since your staff in front desk is unprofessional, rude and no customer service at all. Attitude is everything....😡😠😣☹️😟
MMy Beautiful GaiaThe place is neat and clean the bed is heavenly comfortable the bedding so white and clean and the whole room itself from the fixtures of bathroom to the tiles isn’t cheap ac,hot and cold shower works perfect - maybe this is a new hotel, and there is also a pool which I have missed to look it up in the rooftop… The location is very close by to SM-lanang- though do not expect the area is upscale it’s in the neighborhood of people lives on their ordinary living
- the hotel serves only a Filipino breakfast Nothing else what’s on their list is what all you get! And it’s Not appetizing ! - the front staff are friendly and just okay but they are not so attentive to you and No idea how to give any details to help you out and about the City 😑 … Grab is your butler anyway… and SM-lanang is a big bonus to this place where you can find the eats all you want ! Lastly, Free drinking water in dispenser and free Hot water any time …
