2-Star Hotels in Anhui, China

It's a little far from Namdaemun, about ten minutes' drive, but the owner of the B&B is very nice, pick up and drop off. I arrived a day in advance and wanted to store my luggage up the mountain. I called and he immediately drove to move my luggage. It was very quick, so it's no problem if you don't drive yourself. The room is relatively new and clean, and there is a large terrace. Next to it is a small river with very clear water. The environment feels better than some hotels at the foot of the mountain. The breakfast is relatively simple, and you can add more if it's not enough. I just came back from climbing the mountain and I was not feeling well and wanted to eat something light. Overall, I still recommend it

A truly exceptional stay on Jiuhuashan I have stayed in many guesthouses across China, but this one stands out in a very special way. From the very first moment, the communication via WeChat was friendly, quick, and reliable – even though my Chinese is limited and the staff’s English is not extensive. Still, everything worked beautifully. Warm, patient, uncomplicated. It already gives you the feeling that you are in good hands. I stayed for two days, and throughout my entire time there, everything was perfectly organized. I was picked up right on time upon arrival – an invaluable service in a mountain area that can be a little confusing for newcomers. The guesthouse itself is extremely comfortable: warm, well-designed rooms with excellent facilities, a huge screen, electric curtains, cozy bedding, and all the small details that make travel easier. I immediately felt welcomed and well taken care of. During my stay, the staff assisted me with everything I needed, always with kindness and without any complications. When it was time to leave, they also arranged transport back to my bus at exactly the time I requested. Truly flawless service. But the most extraordinary highlight was something I did not expect at all: the free guided tour that the homestay organizes for all their guests. They drove us to the starting point, and then we spent the day walking through the misty mountain paths, visiting nine of the most important temples on Jiuhuashan. It was magical – quiet, mysterious, deeply atmospheric. Our guide took wonderful care of everyone, explained so much about the temples, the mountain, the history, and the spirit of Dizang Bodhisattva, and created a sense of depth that went far beyond sightseeing. This was not a tourist activity. It was a spiritual and cultural experience – something you can only receive from people who truly love their mountain and want to share it with others. In the fog, among ancient stones, incense smoke, and the sound of footsteps on wet leaves, one begins to understand why Jiuhuashan has been a sacred place for centuries. My conclusion: This homestay offers not only comfort, warmth, and excellent service, but also a genuine connection to the spiritual heart of Jiuhuashan. I can recommend Tanxiangyuan Homestay without any hesitation. For pilgrims, travelers, lovers of nature, or anyone seeking a meaningful experience, this place is simply perfect. I am grateful for every moment I spent there.

The room facilities are complete, relatively new and easy to use; the room is clean and tidy, and the bedding is clean and hygienic with no odor; the hotel environment inside and outside is good, there is a dedicated parking lot in the backyard, there are many restaurants nearby, and it is close to attractions, Renmin Road, and Daobashi Street; the service is warm and thoughtful, and the introductions are thorough.

My stay in Tingquan Xiaoyuan has been absolutely delightful. I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge. The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day. The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night. The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre. In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family. I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language. I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

Facilities: The hotel has everything you could possibly need. Cleanliness: The room was spotless, and the entire hotel is decorated with great style. Environment: The room decor has an industrial feel, and the lobby on the first floor is perfect for photos. They also offer cocktails, coffee, beer, music, booth seating, a reading nook... At night, it feels more like a rustic foreign pub. There's also an incredibly cute, chubby tabby cat that the owner adopted. During my stay, there were many foreign guests, and the owner and staff spoke excellent English, communicating entirely in English. The owner is very thoughtful; before my hike, he was worried I might scrape my hands and gave me two band-aids, which were a real lifesaver! Trekking poles were available for free use, and he even proactively lent me a flashlight for fear of it getting dark on the way down, and recommended restaurants popular with locals... Although I only stayed for 2 nights, the experience was fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Plus, the location is excellent! It's just a short walk to the transit center. After a hike, there's nothing better than being able to walk a few steps and be back at the hotel!

The location is fantastic, right inside Hefei South Station's North Plaza, just a few minutes' walk to the boarding gates, making it super convenient for catching high-speed trains. The room was clean and tidy, with a simple yet modern design. The bedding was comfortable, and the hot water was fast with good pressure. The service was good and responsive. The only drawbacks were the average soundproofing, as I could occasionally hear noise from the corridor, and the facilities were quite basic. Breakfast options were limited, and the value for money was just alright, making it suitable for a transitional stay.

A lovely opportunity to experience Chinese hospitality. I stayed with my cat and we felt very welcome. The owner is very attentive and looks well after his guests. It is good to know that the reception is in the 3rd floor. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. A quiet area and house, just perfect if you need a good rest or travel with an anxious pet.

The accommodation has a free shuttle to/from the station, definitely a plus! It's only a 10 minute walk, but 10 minutes with heavy luggage is something you could miss. It’s a bit inconvenient that you have to call them to actually book the shuttle, because I don’t speak Mandarin and they don’t speak English, so a call would not be possible, but maybe that’s something that Trip could improve on. When I checked out, the lady told me (through a translation app) that she could drop me off at the station, which I was very happy about. When I checked in, I got a room upgrade as well. I was alone so I didn’t really need two beds, but the the huge room was very nice after all those bunk beds in hostels! They also offer a carpooling service to the ticket office/entrance of Huangshan for a good price! Just tell them the night before that you’d like to go to Huangshan and they will arrange a shuttle for you (mine was at 7 am in the morning and I just had to message them when I wanted to go back to the hotel in the evening). They can offer sightseeing tips, they can recommend you something to eat. Just ask and they will help you. Sometimes it was just a bit hard to communicate, the woman uses a translation app which works just fine, but the man doesn’t, he tries to explain everything in Mandarin by using gestures, writing it down in Mandarin … but then it’s obviously not easy to understand each other. That aside, they’re both so sweet and helpful. I would stay there again, if I ever come back! Side note, Trip does not give you the correct address of the hotel (in English). Whichever map app I used, it would send me to an open space in the street of the hotel. The hotel is actually located just a bit further next to a (very good!) restaurant, but just ask someone in the street and they will bring you to the reception of the hotel, if you can’t find it. 😉

The hotel is located a stone throw away after alighting from the tourist bus at the entrance to scenic area (50RMB to n fro the foot of the mountain). Had already chatted with owner on WeChat n he fetched me after I alighted . Room is clean and functional . Am an easy traveller and very satisfied with the hotel. Of course you can walk around and look for a hotel (there are many many hotels !!!!!!) but I think if u pre book u will make your life easier especially if u have a luggage. He planned the itinerary for me. and it was a very fulfilling walking trip in nature visiting temples and paying respects to 地藏菩萨 . So many restaurants too!!!!!!!! He even sent me to the bus station . Thank u He is a kind soul . He quickly called me when he see me walking in “wrong direction” when actually i wanted to visit the temple next to bus stop . This hostel is perfectly located at the foot of Huangshan Mountain, making it super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. The cleanliness is top-notch; the room was spotless and well-equipped, and the bed was so comfortable and quiet, I slept like a log. They even provide complimentary disposable towels and toiletries. The owner is amazing – so friendly and warm, just like a friend! They patiently answered all my questions, helped me plan my itinerary to avoid common tourist traps, and even recommended fantastic restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the value for money is outstanding. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!
