GGuest UserJust got back from the Crowne Plaza in Chongli, Zhangjiakou, and I have to rave about it! As a family traveling with kids for a ski trip, this experience truly exceeded our expectations. Our main purpose was skiing with the little ones, and the hotel is incredibly ski-friendly. The biggest highlight is the 'ski-in/ski-out' access! The ski house downstairs leads directly to the slopes, so you can gear up and hit the trails straight away. When you're tired, you can ski right back to the hotel, saving all the hassle of lugging heavy ski equipment around. It couldn't be more convenient.
Downstairs, there's a Costa, KFC, BaWangChaJi, and Zhou Hei Ya, which perfectly covered our afternoon tea cravings. Thumbs up! 👍
Hotel service was thoughtful and attentive, and the reception was very welcoming, even providing a complete set of toiletries for our little one. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was particularly large. The hot water for showering never ran out, even with the very low temperatures – a problem I encountered last year in Changbai Mountain, which made me wonder if hot water pipes in the North often freeze. 😂
As for the hotel's location, it's also very convenient for going into Chongli town for meals and shopping. It takes about 10 minutes by taxi to reach the bustling commercial area, so you get to enjoy both the tranquility of the ski resort and the vibrancy and delicious food of the town.
The hotel's breakfast buffet had a good variety and tasted great. It happened to be 'Lichun' (Beginning of Spring), so the chef even specially came around with a cart to offer spring pancakes, which added a wonderful festive atmosphere. We also tried the hotel's dinner buffet, which included grilled skewers and Japanese food – both very fresh. The lamb chops were also delicious. When we were starting to feel a bit full, a server proactively asked if we'd like some freshly baked durian! 😂 It was excellent, with a rich durian aroma and a sweet, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. 😋
Overall, our stay was fantastic. This was my first time in Hebei, and it left a wonderful impression. Thumbs up! ^o^
