"I had a very pleasant stay at Courtyard by Marriott Fukui. The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk from the station, making it very convenient for getting around and exploring the area. The room was spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. I appreciated the modern design and the attention to detail in maintaining the room. The combination of the convenient location, generous room size, and high standards of cleanliness made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fukui and would stay here again."

"Front office counter staff are friendly and helpful. Although there are only two staff from Nepal can speak some simple English. Buffets breakfast priced at 1800 Japanese yen is value for money! Rooms are big and comfortable with space for big luggage. Hotel amenities are amazing. You even have choices of pillows! Front office duty manager Mr Oka-san was super helpful. He took the initiative to print out the train timetable for us without us asking ! I was truly impressed!"

"Right next to the station, which was incredibly convenient for my elderly parents. The Japanese-style tatami room was cozy and clean, and our double room was comfortable. The hot springs were excellent and relaxing, and the breakfast featured fresh, authentic ingredients. My husband and I stayed for two nights and were extremely satisfied."

"The room was exactly the Japanese-style room I had imagined, very comfortable. The balcony had a washbasin, which was convenient for larger groups. The onsen (hot spring) was fantastic. Complimentary drinks were served in the evenings, and you could comfortably relax in the lobby. There were three discount stores opposite the hotel, perfect for those who wanted to do some shopping."

"The hotel's location near the JR station is very convenient, and there's a department store right next door. The hotel itself is quite new and the room facilities are excellent. What I love most about the Dormy Inn group are their hot spring facilities and their thoughtful breakfast selection. This particular location feels just as good as Onyado Nono."

"The hotel is super close to the station, about a 3-minute walk, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The hotel facilities and environment are great, and the staff are very friendly. The large public bath is also very comfortable. Plus, there's free ramen at 9:30 PM!"

"The room is very big! The view from the 10th floor overlooks the rice fields and distant mountains, which is very healing! The hot springs are also great! The morning and evening buffets are rich and have Japanese characteristics. There are free wines (red and white wine, whiskey, Japanese sake, beer, etc.) for dinner. During afternoon tea time, the lobby bar has hot spring eggs, various drinks and delicious draft beer 🍺. The most commendable thing is the service attitude and service quality of the hotel staff. The whole state is very energetic and enthusiastic 😄 It seems that the boss also personally carries luggage and drives to pick up hotel guests. It is a good travel experience!"

"Always love staying at Dormy inn for their free onsen, free yakult, free ice-cream and especially free ramen during the night time from 2130 to 2300. The room is clean, quiet and spacious with a seating area. Location is just nice, about 600m walk from JR station, 500m walk to the Kehi -Jingu Shrine, 3.3 km walk to the Nihonkai Sakana fish market. Most of the shops in the fish market closed at around 4.30 pm. A supermarket is just located at the opposite side, can get some offered items after 5 pm. Get lots of offered food from the supermarket for the breakfast. So I don't try their breakfast. Will definitely stay in this hotel if I return to Tsuruga again."

"Our stay at this heritage hotel, which consists of beautifully renovated old houses scattered throughout a charming town, was a unique and mostly pleasant experience. The facilities and room amenities were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the local atmosphere and the authentic dining options nearby. However, as a Michelin-recommended establishment, there is significant room for improvement regarding communication and attention to detail. 1. Repetitive and Inefficient Communication: After booking through an OTA (Ctrip), we received multiple calls from agents asking the same questions (arrival time, dietary restrictions, gender for amenities). Despite answering these repeatedly, it became clear that the information was either not recorded or not transmitted to the hotel staff. 2. Critical Lapse in Dietary Requirements: Our most serious concern involved a severe dairy allergy. We informed the OTA agents multiple times and even sent two separate emails directly via the hotel’s official website to ensure the message was received. Unfortunately, the hotel never replied to our emails, and upon arrival, the staff claimed they had no record of our request. Consequently, dairy-containing dishes were served to the allergic guest during the first meal. 3. Resolution: While the issue was eventually resolved and the second day went smoothly, the lack of coordination between the hotel, the booking agent, and the hotel’s own email system was frustrating. For a hotel of this caliber, one expects a seamless flow of information—especially regarding guest safety and allergies. Conclusion: Everything else about the hotel was wonderful, but these service ”softwares” are what separate a good hotel from a truly great one.
