"We were unexpectedly upgraded to Konoza and got a room with an open-air onsen (hot spring bath). Since we stayed at Tsuruga for several days, we were given a special menu for dinner every night for the next few days. The first day it was sashimi, the second day it was crab, and the third day it was shabu-shabu—all very good ingredients. The downsides are that Konoza is a bit old, the facilities are worn out, and the soundproofing is terrible. You can hear people walking in the hallway outside very clearly. Even if we talk a little loudly in the room, you can still hear us clearly from outside. We were lucky enough to see squirrels having breakfast, and many beautiful little birds too. The buffet was pretty good, but there were too many tour groups. It's best to avoid peak hours, otherwise it's really crowded and you can't move."
