"Wonderful hotel/B&B. We were warmly welcomed into Madame’s home, which is beautifully decorated. Fantastic room and huge bathroom. The double bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was fresh croissant, pain au chocolat and bread plus delicious extras. Great location for exploring Amboise on foot. Highly recommend"

Located on a large island in the middle of the Loire River and a ten minute walk from the shopping and restaurant streets in Amboise. Also just a 15 - 20 minute walk to Clos Luce, Leonardo Da Vinci's home, which is also highly recommended. "

"The hotel is located at the northernmost end of town, making it perfect for self-drive travelers. It's convenient to drive into town for meals, and you can park in the free parking lot by the river! The hotel offers various recreational facilities, including tennis courts, a golf course, and a small outdoor pool. However, it's difficult to find meals nearby, so it's best to eat in town! The room was high up, offering a great view of the castle and town, especially at sunset, when the view overlooking the entire town is breathtaking! The room was older, but reasonably well-maintained and clean! The breakfast was very average. There were no vegetables, and the fruit was unpalatable. The bread, ham, and coffee were okay, but I wouldn't recommend finishing the meal if it wasn't cheap!"

"Wonderful old stone mansion tastefully renovated and delightfully run by Gael and Bruno. They were helpful and attentive to all customer needs and excellent individualized breakfasts. A short walk to the castle Royal, restaurants and town services. The hotel has cabanas in the trees in the woods behind the property each with a hot tub. There is also a well cared for pool in a private area. Good car parking."

"We--two couples--stayed at Villa Mary in Amboise for 5 nights and were extremely pleased with the two-bedroom apartment. The apartment was spotless, the beds were large and comfortable, each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom, and the location (on Ile d'Or in the middle of the River Loire) was convenient and charming. The kitchen contained cutlery, dishes, pots, coffee maker, cups, glasses, breakfast table with 4 chairs, small refrigerator--everything we needed. Mary, who speaks fluent English, was very helpful in giving us advice about restaurants, making reservations when we were having difficulty obtaining them, and accommodating any requests we had. Her apartment was the best of all our accommodations in France. We highly recommend Villa Mary!"
