Romantik Hotel Säntis

"We made a return visit to this lovely hotel in Appenzell which was every bit as good as we remembered it. After a warm welcome at check- in we were delighted by our room which overlooked the village square. The room was generously proportioned and beautifully furnished. It is a fascinating hotel with many interesting swiss and family items on display. Everything in the hotel was always immaculately clean and well maintained. The staff were excellent and very interested in their guests. The food was also very good and we often had the opportunity of talking with the owner and the chef. The Appenzeller Card offers visitors plenty of variety for exploring the area including free local train travel and some cable ways in this beautiful region. We had a really good nine nights stay and plan to visit again in the near future."

Hotel Hecht Appenzell

"We stayed here one night on a group tour. The hotel is super cute and cozy. Feels like you are going to grandma’s house with baskets of toys everywhere. All the rooms appear to be a different layout. Our room was HUGE. The bathroom was very big even with the odd chair inside. Our unit faced a courtyard so luckily no one was smoking or talking out there while we were trying to sleep. Now about the bed. It was hard as a rock. Very uncomfortable. I could not come back for that reason. The breakfast too was big. They just had usual cold items. You could boil eggs to your liking."

Hotel Löwen

"The lady at the reception was very friendly. The rooms were excellent, as was the hotel's location. The only disappointment was the breakfast buffet. It started with the lack of greeting from the staff; you could tell them they didn't feel like working. The buffet was almost empty, and unfortunately, there were no fresh eggs. A shame considering the high price of breakfast."

Hotel Appenzell

"We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Appenzell! We stayed in a double room with two twin beds (Room 301), and it was perfect. One feature we especially appreciated was that each of us had our own little “nook” area, which made the room feel cozy while still giving us our own space. The view of the rolling hillside is spectacular! The bathroom was spacious, the shower had excellent water pressure, and everything was impeccably clean. Housekeeping clearly takes great pride in maintaining the hotel. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, with all the traditional European breakfast favorites, plus made-to-order eggs if you’d like them. It was the perfect way to start each day. The COOP, Lidl and Migros grocery stores are not far away for everyday essentials and snacks. Hotel Appenzell is a smaller hotel, and that personal touch really shows. The staff takes exceptional care of the property, and it feels welcoming from the moment you arrive. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Appenzell. You won’t be disappointed!"
