"we booked the boutique hotel because we were visiting Moon and Stars in Ascona. A great tip for one night. Disadvantage, despite cleanliness, location, etc. no storage space, similar to Motel One in all places in Europe. You can't stay there for weeks. But we had a great time."

"This was a superb and very comfortable hotel. We were upgraded to a family room with balcony and lake views although the extra space included a room with bunk beds which we did not need. The hotel has had a total refurbishment in the past few years and is contemporary but not too modern. Service was top notch. Although there was a wedding on the night we arrived our small group ate in the restaurant and had outstanding food. Superb breakfast."

"Short vacation with the dog. The staff was very friendly throughout. Even though the dog wasn't allowed in the restaurant, to my surprise he was allowed on the terrace, which was great. The staff there were also very accommodating and friendly. The room was as described and shown online. The view was really great (especially when the weather was nice). The surroundings were very beautiful, quiet and secluded. The shuttle to Ascona worked great too. Very nice atmosphere"

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."

"From the moment you arrive, you are in good hands. The service sets standards. If you love small details, you will get your money's worth. If Ascona, then Eden Roc. I would even go so far as to say that a visit to Ascona is worth it for a stay at the Eden Roc. Lake Maggiore is omnipresent in the hotel. The outdoor area is right on the shore. The service surprises with small details that put a smile on your face. Outstanding cleanliness. And a spa area that leaves nothing to be desired. With a heated outdoor pool that is still really warm and offers a play of light in the water vapor at night."

"This was billed as a very good Hotel but I felt very let down. It was expensive but the amenities and service levels were lacking. The aircon didn’t work properly and only after repeated complaints did I get a lifesaving fan in the intense heat. The WiFi was also poor, I had to keep going outside into the corridor to get to back. No coffee machine or kettle, no list of prices for minibar or room service. The pool was lovely with a wonderful view but the promised jacuzzi was empty. The staff were not too friendly either. There is a shuttle but you have to ask and it stops at 4. Why? It’s a long way up the hill. If you don’t have a car, not a good idea. Just not a place where the customer was front and centre.."

"I really enjoyed my entire stay from arrival to departure. Although the hotel was partially renovated, I didn't miss anything and I really enjoyed learning how sustainability is practiced in the hotel. The art butler with Maddalena Mora was an absolute highlight and I will definitely come back so that I can also do the outdoor butler activities with Cyril Oehrli.
