"we booked the boutique hotel because we were visiting Moon and Stars in Ascona. A great tip for one night. Disadvantage, despite cleanliness, location, etc. no storage space, similar to Motel One in all places in Europe. You can't stay there for weeks. But we had a great time."

"Even if the hotel does not look particularly attractive from the street, it is an inspiring hotel! The interiors are beautiful, tastefully decorated and clean. The gardens are beautiful and the location on the lake is unique. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The restaurants are also excellent and the breakfast buffet is, in my opinion, one of the best. The bar makes very special and good cocktails. We had a great upgrade to a luxury suite. We are already looking forward to staying again"

"We returned back to Geneva today from this hotel, but the check-in experience 2 days ago was an eye-opener. Check-in receptionist was very aggressive - i) She didn't know if we booked 1 or 2 rooms for our 4 family member party even though we were in their reservation system. ii) She proceeded to explain they might have to call the police depending on how we explained who would be sleeping overnight, with 2 parents and 2 teenage kids in tow, in the 2 rooms booked (yes she finally figured it out and seriously ??!! ) iii) She insisted on correcting our car registration being from "Genève" not Geneva. Probably more suited for Swiss German or Dutch guests. We scouted out Hotel Tobler next door, for next year, another 4 star establishment and they were way more friendly. We drove in from Parco San Marco Resort, Porlezza (40kms away in IT), and they REALLY know how to do 4+star hospitaliy !"

"The hotel, in the Bauhaus building, is functional, clean, essential, but comfortable and with all the comforts. But there is no air conditioning, as well as the TV (which is useless given the beauty of the place), but you can walk through the gardens, take a tea in the neighboring house, or just rest on seats placed in the front of the entrance lawn The bathrooms are large and there is a clean bathroom, where you can immerse and look, without being seen, a fabulous landscape. Good and varied breakfast. The staff is friendly and nice, but most importantly always available to provide information and solve any problems."

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."
