The love of the mountains and rivers of Haokun Lake
9.6 (328 reviews)

The love of the mountains and rivers of Haokun Lake ★★★★

📍 20 meters north of Haokun Village Villagers Committee, Lingzhan Yao Ethnic Township, Lingyun

"We travelled by rail from Kunming to Baise, then a bus to Lingzhan, and a DIDI before reaching the resort. It took us just over 5 hours. If you are coming here, it is better to skip the bus, just get a DIDI from Baise station. it cost about the same, but a lot faster. On arrival, we were disappointed that the lake facing the resort was dry. We came after the May First holidays. We were told the water was pumped out by the municipal authority to avoid flooding downstream due to the impending rainy season. The resort has a butler service and she did the rightful thing to upgrade us to a lake view room, making our stay a lot more pleasant. We are inside the scenic area, and there are water at other parts of the lake. Our butler was very passionate and helpful. She was always cheerful. Welcome drinks and cakes were excellent. However, breakfast was not consistent. Our Western for the first day was great, but on the second day, it was disappointing with tiny food portions. Not sure if the kitchen ran out of food, or another chef was preparing it. Overall, the resort is very well located, with excellent views, great service, very clean and spacious room. There are washing machines and dryers as well."

Dream Source Hotel (Baise Dream Island Commercial Center) ★★★★

📍 No. 5 Longxiang Road, Youjiang District, Baise

"Booked two rooms for our drive back to Guangdong from Yunnan. We often stop in Baise for a night, and this hotel is super convenient with the Wanjingcheng Night Market right downstairs, and the Science Museum also nearby. The hotel honestly feels on par with a 4-star in terms of its grand lobby, excellent service, comfortable rooms, laundry facilities (washer and dryer), and a fantastic breakfast. Plus, there's free parking 🅿️ (both above ground and underground). The breakfast especially stood out – incredibly rich and much better than what you typically find at standard chain hotels. The bed was so comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning! 😂 Overall, the experience was great. For less than 300 RMB a night, it's definitely a five-star rating from me."

Four Seasons Hotel (Baise Dream Island Shopping Plaza) ★★★★

📍 Southwest Corner of the Intersection of Longjing West Road and Lihe Road, Youjiang District, Baise

"I’ve stayed here twice just due to the breakfast which is excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are large. Overall cleanliness is good in rooms but hallways are getting a bit worn. During this visit, I found a large insect on the wall. It was too high to squash and too late for me to want to switch rooms. It happens but gross. If here again, I will give them another try just for the breakfast."

Hong'an International Hotel (Baise High-speed Railway Station) ★★★★
"The hotel is conveniently located very close to Baise High-Speed Rail Station, just a five-minute taxi ride away. What's more, they reimburse the 6-yuan starting fare upon arrival. The rooms are generously sized and well-appointed. Don't miss the local BBQ spots nearby; I even tried the roasted pig eyes – a truly authentic Baise delicacy!"

Dream Source Hotel (Baise Dream Island Commercial Center) ★★★★
"This stay was absolutely perfect! The hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The lobby is elegantly decorated and spacious. The front desk staff, especially 511, were warm and courteous, checking me in quickly and even offering helpful tips for exploring the local area. My room was spotless and odor-free, with soft and fluffy bedding that made it easy to relax and fall asleep. The bathroom had excellent wet and dry separation, with stable hot water and comfortable water pressure, and the toiletries were high-quality. Public areas were immaculately clean. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including hot and cold dishes, fruits, and desserts, all delicious. The service throughout my stay was meticulous and attentive, full of thoughtful details. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in town and highly recommend it!"

"The hotel facilities are new and clean, making for a comfortable stay. The shower water was great, and I could even take a bath. However, the coffee and milk machines at breakfast were out of order, supposedly due to a burnt wire, and remained broken the next day. They could have easily set up a temporary power source, which shows a lack of service awareness! Hope they improve!"
