Premier Inn Bideford
"Very unwelcoming lady in reception. First room had been smoked in, the second the bathroom shower curtain was stinking Insufficient towels, only enough provided for 1 person. The external bins in the car park not emptied in 4 days so the empty fast food containers were smelly. Virtually no mobile phone reception (EE & Honest Mobile). Normally reception staff welcome you each time you enter the hotel, we only saw the snappy rude abrupt lady the once. Directed several old people to their breakfast they’d booked across the road from the hotel (in pouring rain). Outlet centre & fast food choices across the road."
Wayfarer Inn
"Had a great evening meal on New years Eve Not all the food choices were available from the menu as they had been so busy but we were told as we were given the menus. My husband had the Devin Ruby Red burger and he said it was probably the best burger he had ever had !! I had chicken fajitas. They were very large but so good I ate them all. There were 6 of us in total and we all enjoy the food. We had a good evening but we left before New year as one of our party wasn’t feeling well and we had quite a walk home. But we left the pub in full swing with people dancing and having a great time the atmosphere was very good. We will definitely return."
The Waterfront Inn
"Awesome staff, food was great."
The Seagate

Fosfelle Glamping
"Had a lovely time on Bertram bus and the farm. Good welcoming hosts, fun animals and a lovely village to visit in the evening. Milky Way being little over 5 mins away was a nice bonus for the kids as well"
The Royal George
"Stayed the night for my 50th having eaten a few times previously. Once again the food and staff were outstanding- such a great menu and wonderful service. The room (we were in the family room) was exceptionally comfortable and spotless. Lovely comfy beds and amazing balcony with estuary views. Thanks to the whole team!"
The West Country Inn
"Drove past this place on a visit to Clovelly and saw on the sign that it did a carvery we didn’t have long so we thought we’d pop in and have a quick meal, On entering the pub we were met by a member of staff (possibly the landlady) we asked if they had room for a carvery to which she told us she did and we were seated. We noticed it was cold, the seats were wooden, hard and it was draughty, My wife wanted to put a coat back on, but she thought it might seem rude, so she didn’t. Only 6 others seated in the whole place, this was 12.10. We ordered food at 12:15 and then was told a table of 2-3 people would be coming in at 12:30, so there might be a bit of a wait ! Not sure why, because there was only six people before us, and it was a carvery after all. We sat and listened whilst the table of six placed their orders (I think the landlady would benefit from the piece of paper or notepad or a tablet to write orders on) she struggled to remember what was ordered, it would probably help her massively. I went to the bar to order my drinks and food and waitedwhilst she input the tables orders into a till, took a few minutes. On ordering two drinks I did notice the landlady was on her own, and there was no other staff helping her. unfortunately the Camden’s ale I received was noticeably cloudy, I could see the server was busy so didn’t want to moan straight away so took a sip and realised it was probably the first out of the day so have it a go. Why oh why don’t staff or landladies and landlords take notice of the drinks that they’re serving the people I cloudy beer is not a good beer. She seemed to be trying so hard I couldn’t bring myself to ask for another and took it. Having given our order we realised it wasn’t a carvery after all, we were offered a choice of meats, but was not told of any prices, or the fact it wasn’t actually a carvery. That’s sad we went with it because we were there and it was raining outside . 45 minutes later, my food turned up . Nice big plate not a great deal of meat, but the veg that came out on a plate look really nice Frustrating to see that only had four pieces of what seems like one medium size potato. I don’t understand why people scrimp on potatoes, they must be the cheapest veg around and no mention about asking for more if we needed it . To be fair, the roast was quite nice. The gravy was watery and tasteless but the rest of it made up for that. . We paid and left . I didn’t finish my pint, I couldn’t. And that’s unheard of. Could’ve been a bit better experience. If we did known it wasn’t a carvery. We were offered more veg if needed. It was warmer and my beer wasn’t cloudy. I probably won’t return it I wish them the best, it’s not a great time for pubs but I hope this helps them make a better experience for others.."
Instow Barton
"This Bed and Breakfast is the finest we’ve ever been to. Caroline and Colin really know what they are doing. Caroline is energized and welcoming with a “can do” attitude that shines. Colin cooked up the most delicious breakfast. Our room was lovely and our bed linens were crisp and smelled so luscious. We melted right in. We didn’t want to leave. Our regret was we were there only one night and didn’t get to enjoy the garden."
Sailors Rest
"We stayed at the Sailor’s Rest for 2 nights at the end of August and found it to be good value considering the time of year. We managed to park for free just outside on the road without any trouble. Check in was straightforward – the instructions were clear and we got into the building and collected our key easily from the secure key box. Our room (no. 6) was up in the loft space. It was cosy, clean and nice and quiet. No view from the bedroom itself as it only had skylights, but the bathroom had a lovely sea view. The Nespresso machine and fridge were nice additions. We paid a bit more to have breakfast included, which meant walking down the road to the Royal George. Some previous reviewers seemed to see this as a downside but we actually enjoyed the short stroll each morning, even in the rain one day. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and definitely worth it. Overall, a really comfortable stay and somewhere we’d happily book again if ever in the area."
