"The b Sapporo is highly recommended! The location is superb, very close to Susukino subway station and within walking distance. The airport bus stop is right nearby, making transfers to and from the airport super convenient. Odori Park and Tanukikoji 3-chome are just a block or two away, and there's a shopping district right downstairs, making it perfect for shopping, dining, and getting around. The rooms are typical Japanese business style – not large but clean and tidy. The service is excellent, with complimentary pastries in the afternoon (they go quickly!). Free coffee, iced water, and ice are available in the lobby at all times, which is a thoughtful touch. The only minor drawback: breakfast is quite simple, basically just bread and porridge. I'd recommend choosing a room type without breakfast for better value. Overall, the value for money is great. It's an excellent choice for staying in Sapporo city center while shopping. Highly recommended!"

"Staying in a standard double room at THE GATE HOTEL Sapporo was a fantastic experience! The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were professional and courteous. The best part is that the hotel elevator goes directly to the underground shopping street, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping, even when it snows! The only downside is a 24-hour construction site nearby, which might cause a little noise at night and affect sleep. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend bringing earplugs. Overall, it's great value for money and still highly recommended!"

"While this hotel is remarkably clean and provides fresh towels daily, my overall experience was quite disappointing. The room was exceptionally small, even by local standards, making it feel very cramped. To make matters worse, the windows could not be opened, and the heater was set at an uncomfortably high temperature, creating a stuffy and oppressive atmosphere. Communication was another issue, as there was no information or signage regarding the Wi-Fi details. Although the hotel is relatively quiet and offers a street view, the amenities are extremely limited. There are only two washing machines for the entire building, and I was disappointed to find no public bath (onsen) on-site. Furthermore, if you are driving, be prepared: the hotel has no private parking. You must find your own spot in the surrounding area, and the 'recommended' nearby parking costs a steep 2,400 Yen per night. Despite the cleanliness, the lack of space and facilities made for an uncomfortable stay."

"This was my first stay at Via Inn Prime Sapporo, and the location is definitely the highlight. Being right on Tanukikoji is so convenient, there are tons of restaurants and shops just steps away. The room was a bit small, but that’s typical for Japan. For a solo traveler, it was perfectly fine and, most importantly, very clean. The check-in lobby on the 2nd floor has a really comfortable atmosphere. I liked that you can pick up your own amenities like toothbrushes and coffee there. The staff were also very polite and spoke good English. I I had breakfast buffet at the 1st-floor restaurant for 1,980 yen. The food was fresh, tasty, and had a good variety. The only thing is that the coffee was a bit light for my taste, but everything else was great. The restaurant was tidy, and the staff were very polite and quick to refill the food. Overall, a very satisfying 5-day stay. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again when I’m back in Hokkaido!"

With a stay at Hotel MyStays Sapporo Station in Sapporo (Sapporo City Centre), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Odori Park and Hokkaido University. This hotel is 5.5 mi (8.9 km) from Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice Arena and 0.5 mi (0.9 km) from Sapporo JR Tower. Make use of convenient amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access, a reception hall, and a vending machine. At Hotel MyStays Sapporo Station, enjoy a satisfying meal at the restaurant. Buffet breakfasts are available daily from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM for a fee. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 242 air-conditioned rooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wired and wireless internet access keeps you connected, and pay movies provides entertainment. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature deep soaking bathtubs and bidets. Conveniences include phones, as well as safes and desks.

"We had a good overall stay at Hotel Mystays Sapporo Station. The room was clean and reasonably spacious for two adults, making it comfortable for our stay. Basic toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided in the room. Additional items like toner, lotion and cleanser can be taken from the hotel lobby. A hair dryer is also available in the room. (I don’t recall seeing a fridge, so do check if that is important to you.) The hotel also provides shared facilities such as microwaves, vending machines, and washing and dryer machines located on different floors, which is convenient for longer stays. Our stay included breakfast, served on Level 14. The buffet offers a decent variety of both Western and Japanese dishes. Do note that breakfast ends at 9am, so it’s best to go early. The location is very convenient. The hotel is near the North Exit of Sapporo Station. The closest exit is Exit 9, but it involves three flights of stairs. If you are travelling with large suitcases, it is easier to walk about 200 metres to the main North Exit, which has better access. The walk is generally easy, though it can be slightly challenging in winter when snow covers the sidewalks. Sapporo Station is connected to several malls and underground shopping areas, making it very convenient for dining and shopping close to the hotel. The hotel offers luggage storage before check-in and after check-out (we used it for same-day storage), which was very helpful. They also work with a third-party luggage delivery service that can send your suitcases to another location (eg, your next hotel) for a fee. Delivery usually requires at least one day, so you will need to plan your itinerary accordingly. This is a useful option if you prefer not to carry large suitcases while travelling between cities. The hotel provides two types of pillows (one soft and one firm). If you are particular about pillow firmness, you may find them either too soft or too hard, so do take note. Overall, it’s a comfortable and convenient choice for staying near Sapporo Station."

"Good location. Walking distance to pretty much all famous known locations in Sapporo. The room was clean and the bathroom was bigger than most hotels in Japan. I initially chose this hotel thinking it provided free parking but I had to pay about 2000 yen for one day parking which was from 14:00 hrs to 11:00 hrs. Had to pay a bit extra for the few hours outside those hours. Overall, it was affordable and recommend staying here."

"The location is fantastic! The building really stands out, and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, plus it's super convenient for transport. However, the room itself was a big disappointment. First, the window offered absolutely no view and couldn't even be opened – it felt like I'd booked a windowless room. Second, there were several hairs on the toilet seat, actually stuck in the middle. I was so exhausted after a long day of travel that I didn't even think to take pictures as evidence."

"Location: It's about a ten-minute walk from Sapporo Station. It was a bit of a hassle dragging my luggage in the snow at night when I didn't know the way, but it was easy to find my way in the morning. It's quite close to Odori Park and also convenient for catching the bus to the ski resorts. Service: The front desk staff, whether speaking Chinese, Japanese, or English, were all very attentive. They asked detailed questions and were prompt and helpful with booking taxis. Room: Not particularly large, and opening a suitcase was a bit difficult, but the king-size bed and mountain view made up for it, which I found acceptable. Cleanliness: I didn't notice any uncomfortable dirty spots. Dining: The breakfast was excellent, offering everything you'd expect. Even during the peak Chinese New Year period, it wasn't chaotic. The service in the restaurant was great, though the restaurant's front desk staff seemed a little irritable."

RRukawa1111The 39 sqm room with two queen-sized beds was perfect for our family of three. The facilities felt high-quality, but it's a shame the minibar was so small and there were no complimentary or even paid drinks in the fridge. The breakfast buffet restaurant was beautiful, and over our two-day stay, some main dishes were rotated. They even had soup curry and gluten-free bread, which was a first for me and a very thoughtful touch. Fresh mozzarella and homemade herb butter were also available. However, it was surprising that the restaurant didn't serve lunch or dinner; only the ground-floor lounge offered some simple meals. The hotel's facilities were also a bit limited, with no pool, hot spring, spa, or business center, just a small gym on the ground floor. Most of the guests seemed to be Westerners, suggesting it's primarily a leisure-focused resort.

DDangyidihaishuijuedingquThis hotel was so good that now, as I'm blow-drying my hair halfway through in a hotel in Osaka and feeling miserable, I suddenly remembered I hadn't left a review for the Sapporo hotel yet. First, the location. It's really close to Sapporo Station, so dragging luggage across the ice wasn't too much of a hassle. It's convenient for getting everywhere. Hokkaido University is just a 5-minute walk, and Tanukikoji Shopping Street is about fifteen minutes away. There's also Suwa Shrine, famous for its beautiful charms. It made me feel like I was living there. Check-in was smooth. I just showed my passport at the front desk, and it was done quickly. The person who helped me then was a short-haired girl (I forget if she had bangs, but I think so) wearing glasses and speaking Chinese. She was patient and gentle, explaining all the hotel services in detail, like where the public bath was, how to connect to the room's Wi-Fi, etc. Very thoughtful and thorough. Speaking of the room, it was a bit bigger than the triple rooms I've stayed in in Tokyo and Osaka. It was clean, pretty, and most importantly, bright. The TV could cast to devices, and it was easy to use. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with 24-hour ventilation, so it was never damp. The bathtub was large and clean, and I soaked in it for two days straight. Writing this makes me even sadder because I'm currently standing with wet hair in the cramped bathroom of my Osaka hotel. I'll be leaving Japan in a few days. Sigh, I really miss Hokkaido. It probably would have been better if I had made Hokkaido the last stop of my Japan trip. Actually, during my days in Hokkaido, I had many regrets. For example, my planned afternoon trip to Tengu Mountain was canceled due to strong winds and cable car suspension. Another time, I went out early, but the blue sky was mostly covered by dark clouds, with only occasional glimpses of sun. And then there were the cold, strong winds. Several times, walking down the street, the wind was so strong I had to duck behind a building while waiting for the traffic light, just to steal a few seconds of warmth. There were also countless moments when I almost slipped. Now, thinking back, I actually feel nostalgic for them. When will I experience those moments again? I can only wish that every winter in my future life includes a few days in Hokkaido. On the day I went to Otaru, the temperature was -0.6 degrees Celsius, so cold! Along the canal, everyone was like they were ice skating. I was wearing snow boots I bought for 127 yuan in Tanukikoji, carefully stepping in the footprints of the person in front of me. The sky was so blue, the water so clear, and the houses on the distant mountains looked like a tiny world. I wondered what kind of life the people living there led. Every step offered a picturesque view. The path along the canal was neither long nor short. Actually, even if I had slipped, it wouldn't have mattered. If it made my impression of Hokkaido more vivid, something I'd remember decades later, or when I'm old, then it would be worth it. The day before I left, I went to Hokkaido Shrine and Maruyama Park. The vast white landscape was so clean, and the bare trees made the snowy scenery even more beautiful. A small stream flowed through the park. Closing my eyes, I could imagine it as a waterfall, its sleep-inducing sound not knowing where it led. Landing in Osaka, the rain was heavy, and I didn't have an umbrella. I got drenched walking across the streets to the hotel. Everything felt so different. It made me think of the tree downstairs at *that* hotel. Day in and day out, it was always there, watching travelers from different countries come and go like Hokkaido's snow, accumulating and melting. Watching them open Google Maps every morning to check their route and return at night with bags of convenience store goodies. A happy tree, witnessing so many happy journeys in Hokkaido that began from that hotel. It's 1:45 AM Japan time now. My hair is almost dry. I'm not very sleepy, but I have to go to bed. Tomorrow I'm off to Kyoto. Usually, I think a lot at night or get anxious about various things, but during my days in Hokkaido, I felt surprisingly good. Even with unfinished plans, my mood wasn't dampened. Perhaps that's what a truly good trip is, haha, a journey for the soul? Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel!

GGuest UserA very comfortable stay. I was in a Single Rm on d 13th flr. Super quiet at the end of the hallway. Window facing another building wall, no view. Comfortable bed and PJ set. No daily housekeeping provided but they'd leave a bag of towel, new PJ set and stuffs hanging on your door in the morning. Early check-in would cost 1000¥ per hour till the official 3【pm check-in time. I opt to leave my luggage in their storage rm, after I checked in around 4:30p, my bags already in my rm. Professional and polite staffs in general. I took the airport bus, but on my day of arrival, bus companies not dropping off passengers infront of the hotel due to severe snowstorm 2 days prior. And they also not picking up infront of d hotel on the wkend and final day of d Sapporo Winter Festival. Nearest airport bus stop would be Odori Park or Grand Sapporo Hotel. It's about less than 10mins walk. If it's during winter with snow on d ground, the Grand Sapporo Hotel bus stop would actually be a better route. I took the Odori Park route and was a bit tedious. Hotel is attentive to amenities details eg: charging cables of different ports ( type-C, Apple, usb-A etc...) available in the rm; utensils available at each floor's elevator lobby, free tea/coffee and extra toiletries at Lobby. Coin laundry(cash only) is 300¥ for each load of washing ( laundry detergent will automatically add in) and 100¥ for 30mins dry. Coin exchange avail at Check-in desk. Great location to Odori Park just across the street and plenty of choices for food + shopping. Rm facing the park during Winter Festival might be noisy due to stage performances and safety announcements or whatnot from the megaphone. Loves the onsen; Female and male has each of their own sections. Closed for cleaning 10a-2p daily, but daily operation is 2p-2a. Delicious mini fruit popsicles/ ice cream available to onsen users. No mini-fridge nor microwave in the rm. Breakfast buffet cost 2300¥/pax with mostly cold dishes, hot food only a handful of choices - wished could be more though; but they do serve wine (red+ white). Will stay again.

GGuest UserThe room was decent, no bathtub but the hotel has a public bath, which is standard for a business hotel. It's near Nakajima-Koen subway station, just across the street. A heads-up for everyone, it's in Nakajima Park, so if you're not near Susukino or Odori, it's a bit of a walk. It's not out of the way, but you do have to walk. Sapporo's subway isn't as frequent as Tokyo's, so sometimes walking might get you there just as fast. It's quite a hassle to drag luggage and parents through the snow when you can't use the underground walkway.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located between New Chitose Airport and Sapporo city center. It takes about half an hour to reach Sapporo. If you're looking to shop, staying in Sapporo is more convenient. However, this hotel is a good option if you have an early flight the next day. The room had a very strong disinfectant smell; I suggest the hotel improves its ventilation.

AAnonymous UserThe room isn't huge, but there's just enough space by the bathroom door for two suitcases. To fully open them and pack, you'll need to use the bed, which is typical for Japanese hotels, so it's acceptable. It's a bit of a walk to Susukino subway station, a few blocks away, and it's even harder in the snow. I had to go to the Susukino airport bus stop, which is only a few hundred meters away, but with snow and luggage, it would have taken about 40 minutes to walk. I ended up taking a taxi from the hotel entrance, costing less than 100 RMB, and got there in just a few minutes, which was very convenient. Overall, the price was reasonable, around 400+ RMB per night.

MMarshall OngThe hotel is conveniently located beside Sapporo Station (linked via underground). The airport limousine bus also convenient stops right outside the hotel. However, the smallest room (double bed) can be a little too small for 2 people to stay in. Do opt for the bigger options for more comfort (that's what we did eventually, and topping up the difference)

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful, and the large window allowed us to enjoy the full scenery outside, which made the stay even more relaxing. The room also comes with a bathtub, which was a great bonus — perfect for soaking and unwinding after a long day. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Nearby there are lawson, 7-11, family mart and big supermarket near our hotel. Opposite our hotel, there is a ramen shop that have very nice ramen and chicken karage. But the only thing the train station is a bit far from the hotel.

MMaritChiongWe had an excellent stay at Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu! Very accesible location. Location is very near the city center, just a walking distance of about 17minutes from hotel to city center. Amenities are good. Rooms are clean. Only the television is not smart tv we cannot watch our favorite movies on netflix. Room is clean and spacious. Separate toilet and shower room. The ambience is great. Lawson is just a 2minute walk. The staffs are good and I like the girl in the souvenir shop she is very friendly. Their buffet breakfast is great and delicous. They also allow us to take out some pancakes specially when we are on our rush breakfast for our early tour. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Very Good
GGuest UserThis is a historic Japanese onsen hotel. The hot spring water quality is genuinely good, attracting many Japanese families and couples. There are also quite a few Korean families and Western tourists. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, and the flow within the onsen area is quite complex. There aren't many pools, but they are spread across multiple floors with lots of stairs. Walking around like that **in that condition** felt a bit awkward and cold. The open-air onsen on the 16th floor is shared by men and women at different times, so if all family members want to enjoy it, one day definitely isn't enough (see the last picture for the onsen schedule). The 'water world' is fun and great for kids, and soaking in the hot spring after playing there is very relaxing. The dining is just okay, nothing special, as they mainly cater to group tours. P.S. The scenery in Jozankei is worth exploring, and the nearby ski resort is worth a visit (the kind for playing in the snow). The kids had a blast.
