"The hotel has a back entrance that's much more convenient than the main entrance shown on Google Maps, especially when it's snowing, as it cuts down on outdoor walking. You just walk straight from Lithium Road 7-chome and cross a small street. We stayed in the new annex building this time, and the room was new and surprisingly spacious! It was also very clean. The hot springs are on the 9th floor of the main building and are very relaxing. All the front desk staff were very friendly. The hotel's location is great, with Aeon and 7-Eleven right downstairs. It's also within walking distance of Odori and Susukino. There's even an airport shuttle stop within a 10-minute walk.
The only minor downside was that the Wi-Fi in the annex sometimes wasn't very smooth, and videos would buffer a bit."

"The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Sapporo Station, which is directly connected to the airport via the JR Airport Express. Don't listen to previous reviews suggesting you head towards Daimaru department store. Instead, follow my photos to easily find the hotel. You won't even need to cross the street. Just locate the Namboku Line subway, then find Exit 9 through the side passages. When I visited in February, there was a Descente store next to the hotel's elevator. The front desk is on the 10th floor. Breakfast was good, and the hot springs were very relaxing. Most importantly, the hotel is new. Our triple room included executive lounge access, offering red and white wine, coffee, and four snacks including Jagabee (Jaga Pokkuru). We had a very comfortable stay. Housekeeping is done by 3 PM at the latest. Hokkaido University is a 20-minute walk, Mitsukoshi is also 20 minutes on foot, and the Factory Outlet is a 15-minute walk. We walked everywhere from the hotel."

"This is a very new hotel. The large public bath on the second floor is open until 1 AM, and while the men's bath itself isn't huge, it's perfectly fine for a simple relaxation during your trip. The style is actually quite modern. The hotel's breakfast is better than typical Japanese hotels, with many buffet options and about four kinds of fresh fruit. It's not too far to walk to JR Sapporo Station, and there's also an underground passage you can use, though it requires a slight detour."

"The room was pretty spacious, with enough room for my luggage. Check-in was a bit strict, but they did offer a free welcome drink. The central AC didn’t let me change the temperature, and it got a bit hot at night, so I ended up opening the window to cool off. However, this hotel is right on Tanukikoji Shopping Street and just a few minutes walk to the underground station. Also, there’s a convenience store right next door. They also had a bunch of brochures about Hokkaido and Sapporo, which were helpful for planning."

"The hotel's location is great, right outside JR Susukino Station. It's next to the Risokoji shopping street, and there are many small shops along the underground JR street too. You'll have no trouble finding food, and there's a supermarket downstairs. The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and they provide free drink coupons – one for each day you stay, based on the number of guests. I booked a Deluxe King Panorama room, which had a good view. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and very comfortable. The air conditioning was super warm in winter."

"Superb location! The hotel starts from the 7th floor, and the lower floors are part of the Coconosusukino shopping mall. There’s even a supermarket on the B1 floor, which is incredibly convenient. The building is right across from the Nikka Board—one of Susukino’s signature landmarks.
The hotel is directly connected to Susukino Subway Station (Exit 5), making it super easy to get around. Everything feels very new, stylish, and well-designed. Our Superior Double Room was surprisingly spacious, and the queen bed was extremely comfortable. They also provided 2 bottles of water, which was a nice touch.
The staff are polite and helpful, and the amenities are excellent.
Tanukikoji Shopping Street and the airport bus stop are both within a 5‑minute walk away.
Highly recommended—I'll definitely choose this hotel again!"

"Very comfortable stay for my family!! Room is big, clean and nice, facing nice view, woke up happily everyday. Sufficent space for us to open luggage. breakfast is delicious and large variety as well, front desk and staff are so polite, the only downside is it’s like 8 mins walk from Sapporo station, tho it’s only a straight line walk, not hard to navigate. "Before checking in, I thought I overpaid due to the peak season prices, but the actual experience was excellent, so it was worth it. The view outside the room was beautiful, and the bedding was very comfortable. The entire place was new and clean, especially the housekeeping staff who cleaned the room with such care—highly recommend! The machines in the public laundry room were very easy to use, and the hot spring area was super beautiful; the outdoor pools are stunning when there's snow. I was initially worried about the location being remote, but it turned out to be very convenient. Walking out with my luggage, the entire path was the Tanukikoji shopping street, which was very flat. It’s close to everywhere I wanted to go and yet still quiet. Plus, there's a 7-Eleven downstairs. Guests included Koreans and Japanese. I would definitely stay here again next time."

"This was my third stay, and I chose this hotel again because my previous two experiences were so good. However, this time was truly unacceptable. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM. My daughter had injured her leg while skiing, so we asked the middle-aged woman at check-in if we could check in early. She said yes, but we'd have to pay for an additional day – what a rip-off! The funny thing is, they told us we could wait in the lobby until 3 PM without paying. The lobby was nice, so we decided to wait there instead of wasting about 1700 RMB. But then, to our surprise, we saw the staff taking our luggage and other belongings to our room much earlier, while we weren't allowed to enter. Crazy! On top of that, the Wi-Fi signal this time was incredibly poor, almost unusable. Reporting it to the hotel didn't help either; we had to use our own data. So, this stay was truly, truly, truly disappointing! Attached is a photo of my daughter in a wheelchair, and they still wouldn't let us check in early. That middle-aged woman was so inhumane!"

"The soundproofing in the hotel room was really poor; I could clearly hear people walking past in the hallway. One night, I could even hear guests in the next room chatting loudly in the middle of the night. Thankfully, I called the front desk and the staff promptly resolved the issue.
Since I booked a single room, I was assigned to the first room on a lower floor (501), right next to the stairwell.
The front desk staff does seem to intentionally place Chinese guests on the same floor and in close proximity to each other. During my five-day stay (I could tell because of the bad soundproofing), two or three of the surrounding rooms were all occupied by Chinese guests.
The breakfast was good, and the gym on the first floor was also quite impressive. You can tell the hotel is a bit old, but the lobby still has a grand appearance."

AAhmad MostafaAfter spending six days in MGallery Hotel Sapporo, I can safely say this is not an ordinary hotel. Reception at 5 pm was professional, efficient and friendly. I didn’t have to wait. Well done. Takako and Cindy provided a warm, informative and professional service.

My room was as requested, 524. I booked a king room and it met my expectations. The design is lovely. The bathroom is not huge, but is well appointed with a bath and a separate shower. The room is very quiet and I had a very pleasant sleeping experience.
The hotel and my room are in excellent condition, with a high standard of decor and presentation. Clearly recently renovated. The design is first class. It combines a beautiful Japanese style, with classical and traditional designs. The result is very pleasant - Chic!
WiFi worked well. The room airconditioning was a little too hot for me, so I turned it off, and that was fine for me. The two guest’s lifts are fast and worked well over the six floors.
House keeping is also of a high standard as you would expect from a high end Accor hotel. This is especially so in Japan where service is an art form.
I had access to the executive lounge. It was a good experience. It provides a comfortable and cosy atmosphere, and the food quality is nice. The chefs are friendly and caring, thank you James. The lounge staff are first class. Thank you very much to Yokiku, Kaumini and chief Minoru for your attentive and excellent service. I appreciated your kind service.
The only negative I am sorry to say is the occasional noisy foreigners who don’t appreciate the quiet, polite, refined and subtle Japanese culture.
The location is convenient, and is about 15 minutes easy walk from the main Shinkansen station. Being in a built up area there aren’t any views of parks etc, but rather the city landscape. The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk to a variety of wonderful shopping areas.
Additionally, there are major shopping malls in the Shinkansen station area. Nearby, you can find many restaurants that should suit most people’s cuisine, budget and type of food.
Taxies are available at the hotel entrance. Buses and subway stations are nearby and provide access to various parts of the city. There are several attractions within 30-60 minutes of the hotel such as temples, museums and regional attractions. Ms Takako provided excellent suggestions.
To be fair, I read the Hotel’s web reviews. I noticed that the negative comments were from years ago, before the hotel became an Accor hotel two years ago. I noticed most of the more recent reviews are positive.
A special thank you to all the other warm staff for their excellent and polite hospitality. Having experienced hotels in every continent, this one stands out. The service and attention to detail is in a class of its own. Clearly, this is a special Hotel - undoubtedly, due to the hotel’s leadership.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the General Manager, Mr Ted Kitahara, and his management team. Mr Ted introduced himself to me by chance. He made me feel very welcome, and was most kind to enlighten me about the hotel’s design and its interesting history. I hope to meet the Japanese architect one day!
Overall, an extremely pleasant and first-class experience. I look forward to visiting again.

HHuabajiangAn absolutely perfect experience! This hotel, built in 1934, is nearly a century old and exudes a profound sense of history with its distinctive Japanese-Western old money charm. The lobby and public areas are understated yet sophisticated, with exquisite attention to detail. The room was impeccably maintained and felt brand new, not at all dated. Even the bathroom facilities, like the drainage and ventilation, were modern and completely odor-free. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, showcasing traditional Japanese hospitality at every turn. We were incredibly lucky to be assigned a large Hollywood Twin room in the East Wing – a spacious 40 square meters, easily accommodating two 28-inch suitcases and two snowboards with plenty of room to spare. A delightful surprise at night was catching a glimpse of Sapporo Tower from our window. The twinkling tower lights paired with falling snowflakes created a truly romantic scene. The breakfast was excellent, easily on par with some of the best hotel breakfasts in Hokkaido, offering everything you could want. A special shout-out to the apple pie for dessert – it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for taking such good care of us during our stay. We hope to visit again someday!

GGuest UserThe hotel is short distance away from the major sightseeing spots at jozankei, but still walkable distance. That allows a tranquil and relaxing environment which you can truly enjoy the stay and immerse yourself into the nature. The resort is beautiful and room is super spacious. The buffet is wonderful. All the food are very fresh which make you feel very healthy. The onsen are nice. However, I found the temperature of outdoor bath too high. I feel recharged after the stay, both physically and mentally.

GGuest UserThe room was decent, no bathtub but the hotel has a public bath, which is standard for a business hotel. It's near Nakajima-Koen subway station, just across the street. A heads-up for everyone, it's in Nakajima Park, so if you're not near Susukino or Odori, it's a bit of a walk. It's not out of the way, but you do have to walk. Sapporo's subway isn't as frequent as Tokyo's, so sometimes walking might get you there just as fast. It's quite a hassle to drag luggage and parents through the snow when you can't use the underground walkway.

AAnonymous UserLocation: If you couldn't book the hotel's free shuttle or the Kappa Liner bus, you can take rapid bus #7 or #8 from Sapporo city center to Daiichi Hotel Mae, and the hotel is right there. There's also a bus to Sapporo Ski Resort that stops at the same platform.
Room Amenities: The room was clean, tidy, and very spacious, and it even had its own private hot spring bath.
I booked a package that included breakfast and dinner. The food was just okay, but there was a self-service bar and some snacks.

PPeter DaThis hotel is pretty basic. They charged me extra for checking out just an hour late! Only in Japan, I guess, among all of Asia, haha. But whatever, I couldn't be bothered to argue with them. Then, when I ate at their restaurant downstairs, they asked if I was a hotel guest. I said yes, that I had stayed there for four nights. The server then told me I'd be charged a 300 JPY table fee. I was thinking, *what the heck?* I've stayed here for four days, and now I have to pay an extra table fee just to try your restaurant? And this hotel only cleans every three days. Remember, they only provide towels and trash bags; you have to do everything else yourself. I definitely won't be coming back.

The location is about a 7-minute walk from JR Sapporo, but it's not too far if you find the right exit (16, 17, or 18). Once you exit, you can easily spot the hotel's logo by looking up.
There aren't many dining options nearby, just a ramen shop and a few convenience stores. It's about a 20-minute walk to Hokkaido University, Tanukikoji Shopping Street, and Odori Park. This hotel might be suitable for travelers who aren't visiting Sapporo for the first time and prefer a quiet, relaxing stay.
The breakfast is quite extensive with plenty of seating. Recommended!

MMaritChiongWe had an excellent stay at Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu! Very accesible location. Location is very near the city center, just a walking distance of about 17minutes from hotel to city center. Amenities are good. Rooms are clean. Only the television is not smart tv we cannot watch our favorite movies on netflix. Room is clean and spacious. Separate toilet and shower room. The ambience is great. Lawson is just a 2minute walk. The staffs are good and I like the girl in the souvenir shop she is very friendly. Their buffet breakfast is great and delicous. They also allow us to take out some pancakes specially when we are on our rush breakfast for our early tour. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

XXiaoboIf you're a Chinese tourist, don't set your expectations too high – it's just a basic hostel. Expect the lower floors to be equivalent to a 170-250 RMB standard in China, and even a 'premium' room shouldn't cost more than 400 RMB. The hallways are so narrow only one person can pass at a time, and there's no wardrobe in the room; clothes have to be hung on the hallway wall. You can't even lay your suitcase flat on the floor! I've never stayed in such a terrible room, and the pricing is incredibly unstable. I booked it for just over 1000 RMB, but after checking in, I found the price had dropped by more than 300 RMB. If you don't check the prices carefully, you'll get ripped off... Luckily, Trip.com customer service was great and refunded the difference! This hotel has no redeeming qualities. Although it's close to the subway station, there are definitely more cost-effective hotels nearby, all within walking distance.

SsweetknellneuFrom the moment you're greeted, to the front desk, and the overall architecture, everything exudes a sense of grandeur and luxury. It feels very upscale. The facilities are what you'd expect from a well-established star-rated hotel, and the location is absolutely prime, making it convenient to get anywhere. The night view from the upper floors is particularly beautiful. You can pretty much book this place without a second thought. Once again, I applaud my hotel-picking skills!
