"I booked it because it is near the station. Price was a bit high for me but it included breakfast. Unfortunately they don't have much choice for Muslim travellers and there was no label. I had to ask every time what I could consume. The staff was very accommodating and did their best to answer my questions.
Love the amenities they had.
The downer was when I had to travel for a few days and they don't allow luggage storage even though I was coming back to stay at their hotel.

"This hotel is perfect if you don't want to walk far from Sapporo station and you need to leave early for the airport. Just a few minutes beside Stellar Place mall. Check in is strict as with all hotels in Japan at 3pm. The best part is the view. I got the room at level 34 facing north side of Sapporo and it was breathtaking. I booked 2 rooms and the staff was kind enough to accomodate my request for the rooms to be nearby. We got rooms next to each other. It was initially full booked and once I saw rooms available at the last minute, I took it. No regrets. The rooms are spacious too. Amenities are complete with both body and skincare products too. Breakfast was add on and we chose western cuisine. There were varieties but not that amazing. But the 360 view at the 35th floor restaurant is worth checking out."

"The hotel was clean and hygienic, and the front desk staff were very polite. Bath towels and regular towels were changed daily, and the room size was decent. Toiletries were self-service, which was convenient. The hotel's location is also very accessible; it's just a few hundred meters from Nakajima Koen subway station. Nakajima Park is right next door, offering beautiful scenery, and there's a convenience store directly opposite the hotel, making shopping easy. My stay in Sapporo for the past few days has been wonderful."

"The Japanese-style tatami room was very distinctive, and the hotel's facilities and equipment were well-maintained. The large public bath operates on a daily rotation for men and women, and the outdoor hot spring pools on each side are different. So, you'd need to stay at least two nights to experience the full range of hot springs. The meals didn't change at all over several days, so I quickly got tired of them."

"I highly recommend this hotel. There's a shuttle bus right outside to the outlet mall, and another bus to the airport. The tram loop is at the intersection, and you can cross the street to an underground shopping area with direct access to the subway. Plus, another subway line is just one block away. The breakfast is excellent, and downstairs there's self-service laundry and ice cream. The third picture was taken in the hotel hallway. The room is small but has everything you need, and you can even open a 24-inch suitcase."

"The hotel is quite new and conveniently located right next to the JR station, with plenty of dining and shopping options connected within the station. The breakfast spread was generous. The room was a bit small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The onsen (hot spring) is tiny but clean and hygienic. A tip for fellow travelers: if you plan to use the onsen, please respect local customs. Make sure to wash yourself thoroughly from head to toe before entering the bath. I saw some fellow countrymen being corrected. Respecting others is respecting yourself!"

"Walking distance to JR but not close to any subway station, so it is good if you take train to and from new Chitose airport, but if you travel around town by subway you may need to walk even longer to take, surrounding is quiet, but once you walk 10min to reach Sapporo station, you will be overwhelmed by all kinds of shop and activities, hotel itself is a typical Toyoko Inn, clean, tidy, comfort, simple but delicious breakfast, and on top of all, good service, highly recommended."

"Generally a very pleasant stay. The location is convenient since it's located next to the station, being easily accessible from both the center of Sapporo as well as New Chitose Airport. The room was also clean and modern, and moderately spacious (for a Japanese hotel room) with a large desk, and well lit. They also provide self-service checkout and luggage storage, which makes checking out extremely fast.
The main downside is the built-in ventilation system where they've cut a hole into the wall and installed a vent cover. The trouble is the seal around the vent isn't very good, so it lets through some noise and the room loses heat overnight (especially during winter when I visited). The heating also isn't thermostat controlled (it's either on or off), so you can't compensate for it by leaving the heating on. It's an inconvenience but not a deal breaker."

"They gave me a room with a superb nice view 😁. The room and bathroom are quite packed but you will be good even for 2 adults in the room since it comes with reasonable price. Only 2 blocks away from the market, malls, susukino subway and food with a super cozy environment. Complete amenities and they change the towel everyday if you need. Unlimited coffee, juice, croissant and bread for breakfast which enough for me. Helpful and nice front officer. Only maybe you can add more time for the check out until 11am. Overall I really have a zuper pleasant stay here"

GGuest UserVery close to Odori Park. There is an airport bus stop in front of the hotel near the Sapporo TV Tower, which is very convenient. There is also a tram station located behind the hotel, making transportation even more convenient. The hotel is connected to Odori Subway Station, and the location is excellent.
The staff are very nice, friendly, and provide great service with warm smiles.
The breakfast is decent, nothing fancy but satisfactory. Overall, I was impressed and would recommend staying here.

The location is super convenient, about a 5-minute walk to both the train station and MTR, which made getting around effortless. There are plenty of convenience stores right nearby.
The hotel has a nice quiet vibe, which was perfect after busy days out exploring. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The room itself was a standout, surprisingly big and spacious by Japanese standards. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, and there was still plenty of floor space even after we opened two large suitcases (something that’s almost impossible in most other compact hotels in Japan).
The only downside was the bedding. The duvet (?) was way too thick and heavy for my liking. It made the bed feel quite hot at night, and I ended up sweating a lot despite the AC.
Otherwise, this place was near perfect. Would definitely recommend it to others, especially if you’re okay with cranking the AC lower. Solid choice!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, right across from Nakajima Park, making it super convenient for playing in the snow! The facilities are quite new, but the room was a bit small. We booked a deluxe room, but the view wasn't great – it faced inwards. I wonder if it's because we checked in late, so we were given a less desirable orientation. The breakfast was also good; the ramen was delicious, and they even offered free breakfast for our 6-year-old son. Overall, it's great value for money, and we'd definitely stay here again.

AAnonymous UserLocation: If you couldn't book the hotel's free shuttle or the Kappa Liner bus, you can take rapid bus #7 or #8 from Sapporo city center to Daiichi Hotel Mae, and the hotel is right there. There's also a bus to Sapporo Ski Resort that stops at the same platform.
Room Amenities: The room was clean, tidy, and very spacious, and it even had its own private hot spring bath.
I booked a package that included breakfast and dinner. The food was just okay, but there was a self-service bar and some snacks.

AAnonymous UserI meticulously chose this hotel after looking through many in Sapporo, and it offers excellent value for money. I selected a room on floors 15-17, and I was assigned one on the 17th, the highest floor.
My corner room faces west, offering a panoramic view of the distant mountains and the lush greenery surrounding Hokkaido University. The other side faces south, where I could see the Ferris wheel 🎡 and the clock on the TV Tower 🗼.
Every morning, waking up to the sight of green hills enveloped in white clouds, I felt so relaxed that I almost didn't want to leave the room.
I could have visited the Hokkaido University Museum nearby, and even had a meal there, but I went on a holiday and couldn't get any food.
Getting to JR Sapporo Station was very convenient, especially close to the North Exit. Even with my mobility issues, my local guide pulled me along from JR Station to the hotel, in the evening rain, with an umbrella and luggage. For someone with average stamina, it would be no problem at all.
While the hotel breakfast didn't have a huge variety, it offered items I enjoyed, so I was very satisfied every morning. Their honey, labeled 'honeycomb,' was particularly interesting and delicious; I found it exceptionally sweet and fragrant, though I wonder if it was just my imagination.
There were four magnetic signs on the door to indicate whether housekeeping 🧹 was needed. I chose not to have my room cleaned as I don't like others touching my bed. Each morning, I'd just place the trash outside the door and ask for two bottles of water.
Inside JR Sapporo Station, there are many places to eat and shop. I bought Sapporo Agricultural College cookies, which weren't too sweet, at the Hokkaido specialty store on the first floor. There were many other shops I didn't have time to browse. Don't miss the JR Observation Deck on the 38th floor! You can go during the day, at night, or at dusk to watch the sunset. It's very convenient and beautiful.
A taxi to Shiroi Koibito Park cost around 3000 yen, which is a bit pricey. Other places like Odori Park and the Ferris wheel are much closer, costing just over a thousand yen.
Some reviews mentioned that the north side is quieter than the south. I agree. Since I don't enjoy shopping, the north side was perfect for me. Perhaps because my room was at the end of the hallway, it was exceptionally quiet. The guests next door seemed very quiet too. Sometimes it was so quiet it felt almost desolate. Maybe the soundproofing of the windows is excellent.

KkenjigohSpend our first night in Sapporo in this new hotel. We drove and this hotel provides indoor mechanical parking. The car will not be covered in snow the next day! The staff is very friendly and patience in helping us with the carparking lift as well as check in. Receptionists can speak good english. Hotel room is also very clean and new! Definitely will stay here again if we visit Sapporo again.
Not to mention this hotel is conveniently located beside the famous Tanukikoji Shopping Street, 狸小路商店街. Book Off and Family Mart is just within less than 5mins walk from the lobby too. The famous Susukino street with the Nikka Whisky sign is also within walking distance.

If you're looking to shop, staying in Sapporo is more convenient. However, this hotel is a good option if you have an early flight the next day. The room had a very strong disinfectant smell; I suggest the hotel improves its ventilation.

HHiddenGemWe had a great stay at Smile Hotel Sapporo. The location is excellent. It is close to entertainment areas, with easy access to the bus stop and subway station. The airport bus stop is also very close, just about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. The staff were nice and helpful, and the free amenities for guests were a nice bonus. The only thing I’d suggest is having a free water refill available. Overall, I love Japan, and you really can’t go wrong staying here.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is fantastic, right near the JR station. There's an observation deck and a hot spring bath on the top floor. The view from the observation deck is the same as the JR observation deck, and I highly recommend checking it out during the day. Also, be aware that both the observation deck and hot spring bath are closed in the mornings.
