"The hotel isn't new, and the reception closes at 5 PM. If you're arriving later, make sure to email the hotel in advance, and they'll provide self-check-in instructions. The room itself is quite spacious and clean. It comes with all the necessary kitchenware and a stove. We didn't get a chance to swim in the pool, but we did BBQ some shrimp on the rooftop, which was great. When you rent a room, you get a dedicated parking spot in the underground garage, which is very convenient. Caloundra is a small town where everything closes fairly early, so we were really lucky that this hotel building houses an amazing grill restaurant called TREE. I highly recommend everyone to try it, especially their lamb ribs. Honestly, all their food is fantastic! It's probably one of the only places in the area that stays open in the evening, and it's always busy, so booking a table is recommended."

"Whether that’s lucky or unlucky, I only booked one night here. I have stayed at Mercure hotels in different cities and this one completely drags down the brand with its overall room setup and service standards. The hotel barely offers any service. I called the front desk twice, but no one answered and there was no follow-up. The front desk often had no staff during non-check-in/out periods. The room facilities are outdated, and the air conditioning is very noisy. Breakfast was also very mediocre. I’m not sure if my stay coincided with a particularly busy period, but the overall quality of this hotel is far below the price I paid. The staff attitude is acceptable, but they are hard to find when you need them. The upside is that the hotel is right by the river, offering nice views, and the surrounding area is relatively quiet."

"The view is not bad from the Oceanside view who we had. The hotel room could use some updating in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Climbing over the tall bathtub Jacuzzi to take a shower great either. However, my wife did love taking a bath. Parking in the underground garage was very challenging and finding the above ground parking lot was not necessarily easy as many people got lost and confused with a two different parking lot one for the hotel and one I don’t know what it was for. The one for the hotel had a gate, but it was easier to go through to the other parking lot without a gate. Would I stay here again, no not until they did some more updates."

"The service hours are until 5pm which is a bit inflexible, but it seems that all resorts in Australia have the same service hours? However, the free parking service is really great for us who are on vacation! The room is large, with a kitchen, refrigerator and kitchenware, and there are many shopping supermarkets nearby, which is very suitable for long-term vacations. The view outside the window shows a little bit of the sea, and you can see it more completely on the top floor. What is more puzzling is that my friend and I woke up the next morning and felt like we were bitten by insects? Maybe need to pay more attention to making and cleaning the beds it would be better."

"We booked this hotel because of the brand, however it was not as good as the one in Brisbane city. The first day when we arrived, happy with the reception service. However, we didn't notice the dust until the second morning under the sun light. Therefore, we requested a cleanup. After we returned from the beach, the cleaning was 'done', but I noticed the desk was not wiped down nor the carpet was vacuumed. I then went outside to ask for cleaning again, and said this room must be dusted off, due to my son's hay fever, and he didn't sneezed a lot last night. They organised another cleaning, but it's like a real 'whatever'. The photos attached were after the second cleaning. I couldn't believe it but didn't want to ruin the holiday, so I decided to take some photos and cleaned for them, as well as for our own good. The experience this time ruined the reputation of Mercure. We will never return here."
