Nestled at the north end of Strawberry, AZ, adjacent to the U.S. Forest, this 1/2-acre lot provides lots of space for hiking, wildlife watching, or relaxing on one of two decks. The 2 bdrm cabin includes a loft with 3 private queen beds. The mudroom also allows for stunning views in cabin comfort.This cabin is our dream come true. We are furnishing it for our comfort as well as yours! We have tried to create a space that we are proud to rent and you’ll be proud to stay. We have enjoyed finding cabin decor treasures and even framing vintage or vintage-inspired cabin wall art. If you feel like you’re home, our hope is that you’ll become return renters and then part of our cabin legacy. You may park up to two cars in the front of the cabin and one on the cement driveway (in front of the garage). Please enjoy the local restaurants right here in Strawberry, such as the Pie Bar, with dozens of flavors of empanadas, served hot all day. There are many more restaurants in nearby Pine. If you love antiquing or junkin’ we have many options in Strawberry and Pine. Stop by the quaint stores along Hwy 87, in Pine. There is a grocery store in Pine, Ponderosa Market, if you need anything or you can head down to Payson and have a few more options, including WalMart. Download the All Trails app for trail maps and information. Fossil Creek, previously closed after a large fire, is now open and is magnificent. Consult All Trails or other reputable trail maps for information. As you can see, this cabin and community are a part of the forest. Please be careful and responsible to protect this cabin, our neighbors and the wildlife. At this time, we do not have an usable outdoor fire pit. Once we can build one that is safe for you and the forest, we will add that. In the meantime, no outdoor fires. in addition, we don’t have a valid fire permit. The front deck has comfortable chairs where we love to drink coffee and watch the local elk that wander through the yard. It’s also a perfect place to catch the sunset as it illuminates the Mongolian Rim. The area has an abundance of wildlife and elk are often seen nearby or on the property. This cabin is the perfect mix of modern and rural living, making it the ideal getaway.When you enter the cabin you will be in the sunroom. This space is perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon book, or a quiet mid-day retreat.The small kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials. We provide a Keurig, toaster, oven, and microwave. Our kitchen does not have a dishwasher. The kitchen opens up into the living room where you will find a comfortable couch, a fireplace, and a smart TV. Netflix will be logged in for you to use and you may log into your other accounts. The cabin has several windows that provide a cross breeze of fresh air and lots of natural light!Guest accessThere is one queen bed with luxury bedding, blackout shades, and separate temperature control.Additional Sleeping:The sunroom does have a full-size sofa sleeper and the couch can be made into a twin bed. These would be suitable for children, but an adult may not find this sleeping arrangement comfortable. The cabin can accommodate a family of 4.Bathroom:The cabin has one bathroom with a tub and shower, plenty of towels, and all environmentally safe essential products are provided for you to use during your stay.Other things to noteThe entrance has an electric keypad for an easy self check-in process.The cabin is located in a neighborhood. Perfectly nestled in the forest in Strawberry, AZ the Kodiak Bunkhouse, Studio Cabin blends seamlessly into its environment. It sits inconspicuously on our 1 acre of property. It is the guest house next to the main cabin.Walking around the Bunkhouse to the back you will find the gas grill and comfortable patio seating that overlooks the dense forest of surrounding pine trees. Upon entering the cabin you will quickly realize this is not your grandad's hunting cabin. 2 queen sized beds occupy one end of the cabin and an efficient kitchenette resides on the side. The bathroom features a glass shower door with brand new tile. During our winters, you will enjoy the warmth and romantic atmosphere generated by the electric fireplace that sits in front of the futon couch that can easily be turned into a bed. Entertainment is provided with a smart TV, cards, board games, fast WiFi and the local bars and restaurants within a few miles. If you’re looking for city life luxury with jet tubs, surround sound and massage chairs this home isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a true cabin getaway with just the right amount of comfort and lots of outdoor adventure look no further!The famous heard of Elk regularly lounge behind our home and can usually be seen several times a day lounging and grazing. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin can comfortably sleep 6 with space for up to two more on the pull out couch. The entire cabin is 1,000 square feet. Each of the 3 bedrooms has a queen bed. There is a TV in the back bedroom and a large TV in the living room. Both are smart TVs and we are equipped with WiFi so you can log into your favorite app for movie night. We have newly installed central air. Enjoy some outdoor games (Cornhole, Jenga, Connect 4) in the backyard while the elk visit just beyond the chain link fence or spend your days hiking, off-roading, or enjoying the local markets and restaurants. We have a barbecue grill with propane tank. The front porch is a peaceful haven with a swing and couch. There is plenty of parking if you arrive in multiple cars. The kitchen is fully equipped and you are welcome to use any durable goods you find in the cupboards. Note - We do not have an ice maker or filtered water on tap. The dirt driveway is equipped with 30 amp and 50 amp plugins for an RV if you prefer separate living quarters with your guests however please note the driveway is steep and somewhat tight at the bottom. It takes an experienced operator and often 4 wheel drive to back a trailer or camper in. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Any vehicle will be fine for regular parking, 4 wheel drive is only needed for trailer parking.Dogs are welcome for a fee of $25 but we ask that you clean up after them. The backyard is fully enclosed by a chainlink fence to keep you fur family safe. There is an additional $50 fee for uncollected doggy doodoo. We also ask that you not leave them unattended in order to prevent any damage to our home or furnishings.The indoor fireplace shown in the photos is not operational. It does not vent properly and WILL fill the house with smoke. We have central heat and a back up gas furnace in case of power outages.No smoking in the home or backyard. Take special note of the fire restrictions during your stay which vary throughout the seasons.Note that we have a ring doorbell at the front door facing the street and a camera in the backyard facing the yard for security.
