The space has vaulted ceilings and a gas fireplace. It's located on a corner lot with completely fenced in parking and lots of privacy. The cabin is conveniently located 2.2 miles from the Tabegauche Trailhead (biking trails), 2.8 miles from Colorado Mesa University and 2 miles from downtown GJ. The Stagecoach Cabin is nestled in the oak brush at the corner of our 42-acre property and was an original building from a stagecoach stop in western Colorado (hence the name). We invite you to relax and recharge in the antique and western charm of the late 1800s. The 12' x 12' cabin accommodates up to 3 adults (or 2 adults and a couple of kids).The Stagecoach Cabin offers a break from the modern world. The cabin does not have running water, electricity, wi-fi, or television, but it does have a propane wall heater, solar lights, and a solar-powered charging station for your electronics. The outside kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and dishes, a propane stove top and mini fridge, and plenty of water in jugs. The outdoor bathroom facility includes a waterless toilet and a solar outdoor showering system. Best of all, the cabin site has lots of antique charm and mountain stillness. The cabin offers a queen-size bed, a single floor mattress, and a small table and chairs. Under the covered porch, you'll find the kitchen and dining area and a chest of games. We also provide a propane fire pit on the south side of the cabin. Most guests get cell service and data (we get 5G on T-Mobile), but for the most part, modern technology won’t distract you during this peaceful nature retreat. If you really need it, high-speed internet—along with coffee and continental breakfast—is available at the Sunroom, just a short walk or drive away.At the Sunroom, the enclosed porch on the front of our house, we offer coffee and simple snacks/ breakfast items, an assortment of cold drinks and water, and high-speed wi-fi. It's all self-serve and available anytime during daylight hours. We hope you’ll find yourself immersed in the sounds and sights of nature: coyotes singing across the hills at night, elk bugling in the distance, and deer crossing the hillside in the early morning. You can also step across the road to view elk and buffalo on the nearby game ranch.We welcome a house trained and well behaved pet (maximum 1) who likes to sleep in their own bed on the floor and gets along well with other dogs. We provide pet bowls and sheets to protect the linens. A pet fee of $15 per stay applies.Please bring with you a pair of shower shoes if you'd like to try the outdoor shower. We do have mosquitos. We've provided some bug spray, but you might bring your own if you prefer a specific brand.Your rate includes snacks and drinks in the Sunroom and the standard one-hour cleaning service. The old cinder block building has a long history of uses, including a chinchilla hut, garage, and music studio, before it was remodeled to a vacation rental in January 2021. The larger bedroom features a queen-size bed, the smaller bedroom a twin-size bunk bed, and the living room a double-size futon couch. BaseCamp can accommodate six people total. We’ve stocked the kitchen with everything you need including a few basic staple items like coffee and tea, flour and sugar. BaseCamp has free wi-fi, Roku TV, and the capability for online movie streaming. Built with practical outdoor enthusiasts in mind, BaseCamp is small, simple, rustic, and cozy — a comfortable place to relax after a day of adventure. Conveniently located just off Highway 330 and about a mile outside the town of Collbran, it’s an ideal home base for exploring the surrounding outdoor recreation areas. Guests have full access to BaseCamp's amenities, including a private courtyard and dedicated parking area.BaseCamp is located on the same property as Grandma’s House, another vacation rental that is currently being remodeled, and the contractor may be living onsite in an RV while working on the project.
