"We had a very pleasant stay at the Paris Hôtel in Chau Doc, despite it being a simple establishment that probably qualifies as a two-star. The rooms were clean, with new sheets and a comfortable mattress. There were a few details that could be improved (a little dust under the bed and on the shelves), but overall, everything was very tidy. I noticed they're making several updates, such as the front door and the mattresses, a clear sign of care and a desire to improve. The real strength is the staff: incredibly helpful and honest. They helped us book the forest tour, including tickets, by contacting the visitor center reception directly. They rented us a scooter in perfect condition and didn't charge us anything extra, even when we were in a rush and didn't have time to refuel. They arranged our transfer to Can Tho, including bus reservations (with tickets already in hand!) and the shuttle bus to the station. The location is excellent for exploring the city's main attractions on foot. I also highly recommend renting a scooter and getting lost in the narrow streets to the north: rice paddies, coconut palms, canals, and small bridges create an unforgettable landscape. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke good English, which made everything even easier. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended."

"The outside of the building looks lovely, that’s where it ends. The bed is like a concrete slab, and whilst I recognise most Asians like a firm mattress, this is really a hard mattress with no support. Both my husband and I woke up many times in the night with very sore backs. The pillows were as flat as pancakes. We asked for bigger softer ones at reception and housekeeping sent up the same pillows. We had dinner at the restaurant, we both had chicken. The chicken was extremely tough and overcooked. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant also as it was included, very bad selection. The coffee was undrinkable. The room was a large size. The TV in the room worked but was extremely grainy picture. The bathroom was ordinary, you had to be very careful with the shower so it didn’t leak over the floor. The wall next to the toilet was dirty with I don’t know what, looked awful. The staff were attentive, the room was air conditioned but they were the only good points. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again or would recommend."

"Small ancient hotel, but clean and with all commodities. Personnel is very preoccupated by your needs and always ready to help you, You can book with them a boat tour, a Taxi and more. I recommand. Well located but the city is very small. Be aware that it is no Grab service in this city...so the scammers will wait for you at the bus terminal..and you will not be able to negociate...no alternative... I recommand you contact the hotel in advance, so they can send you a Taxi they know, at "normal" price..."

"Hotel located a little away from the city centre, but a little closer to the bus station, which can be practical for travelers. As in many of the facilities in Asia, the bathroom has no shower, bathroom, or courtyard or shower wall. However, it is practical that the toilets are slightly overhigh from the ground of the shower, avoiding wetting. The room was very warm and the room was very warm. There was also a small window in the bathroom that didn't close completely. "Nice hostel. English is not spoken very well at reception, but the staff tries very hard to answer all questions and meet requests (with a translator if necessary). Our room was small and without a window, but very clean and seemed new. The AC was super quiet. We extended our stay by one night, but moved to a room with a window. This was more spacious, but didn't seem quite as modern. We used the laundry service and rented a scooter (150k VND / day)."
