Hotels in Chunxi Road Commercial Area, Chengdu

This is our second stay within a week (after 2 nights at Jiuzhaigou). When we returned, it’s comforting to be greeted warmly by Xiao Zhang at the reception again (he checked us in one our first stay). Although the staff are on shifts and we met different people each day, everyone showed the same level of friendliness and helpfulness. We enjoyed a free upgrade again and loved the room with modern decor, and opportunity to wash our clothes before heading out again. We’re convinced that Sungold is the perfect base to explore Chengdu and other attractions in Sichuan. We’re off to Dujiangyan and Qingchen, and will be back here again for another 2 nights!

The hotel itself feels very old. Besides the Ibis-exclusive elevator, there are four or five other elevators, but they don't seem to be linked. You have to press the up or down button on each one, which makes waiting for an elevator very inconvenient. The air conditioning in the room was also very noisy. I stayed for two nights and ended up with several bug bites on my legs – not mosquito bites – and they're still itching five days later. The staff on the laundry floor were very nice. Seeing me doing laundry, they offered for me to leave a small card with my requests, and they would help dry and deliver it back to my room door. The lobby staff were just okay. They were incredibly slow at getting things done. I was specifically asked about room preferences, and I only mentioned not wanting a room near the elevator, yet they assigned me one right next to and facing the elevator. I don't understand the point of asking for preferences then. On my second day, even though I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, they still called the room (and no, I hadn't ordered takeout, nor was I a robot). Also, I saw an advertisement at Shuangliu Airport for an SF Express collaboration with the hotel to help send luggage to the airport. When I asked the front desk, they said it used to be available but isn't anymore, and there was no luggage delivery service. I ended up calling myself and successfully arranged for my luggage to be sent to Shuangliu Airport.

Really enjoyed our stay in the top floor suite with an amazing view overlooking Taikoo Li and the skyline. The location is perfect for a short visit, with Taikoo Li just outside, making it very easy to walk around. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, responding to our requests and questions instantly, they even helped us fill up the bathtub/pool while we were out so it was ready upon our return! Also loved the projector screen to watch tv. Many amenities like snacks, towels, robes, slippers were also provided. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely return!

This was our third stay on this trip, and we finally managed to book the Fun Family Room. It's significantly larger than the Starlight Family Room we stayed in before, with bunk beds that the kids were really looking forward to, and a small tent perfect for younger children. The overall layout is well-designed, clean, and tidy, with complete amenities. The living experience was excellent! I won't go into detail about the hotel's excellent location, as it's already well-known.

The hotel location is v convenient in between Chunxi road and Taikoo Li without having to take didi. Many food option and convenience stores nearby. International plug power provided as well. Staff were prompt and helpful with their replies and suggestions

The price of hotels in this location is unbeatable. Very affordable yet everything you need. It’s hidden inside a community center where food stalls form up after 9 PM, and very accessible to Tai Koo Li, the famous must-visit spot. Would love to come back!

I chose this hotel blindly based on its online ratings, and overall, I highly recommend it. Here's why: They provide a thin quilt in the summer, which helps with sleep. I also received complimentary afternoon tea with pastries and refreshing grass jelly. They offer free laundry for up to fifteen items, which really lightens the load for guests. I also participated in a lacquer fan painting activity and got an introduction to the guzheng – an unexpected bonus during my trip! Special thanks to the diligent staff at the front desk and housekeeping. If I get the chance to visit Chengdu again, I will definitely choose Lin'en!

The hotel is in the city center, within walking distance of popular attractions and business districts. There are also plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. Transportation is very convenient, with the subway station just a seven to eight-minute walk away, and taxis readily available right outside the building.

The location is fantastic, surrounded by amazing food options – you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. We had heavy rain during our stay, so our planned subway trips turned into taxi rides, but the hotel isn't too far from the subway station, about 600 meters. The only disappointing experience, which wasn't the hotel's fault, was discovering that Didi drivers in Chengdu will temporarily increase prices and rip off customers during heavy rain. Just a heads-up for anyone traveling to Chengdu and planning to use Didi.

The room was clean and very spacious, especially considering the price. It is definitely very affordable and offers great value for money. The hotel is also within walking distance of Chunxi Road Metro Station, around 600 metres away, which makes it very convenient for getting around Chengdu. They also provided us with free bottled water — around 8 bottles in total during our 2-night stay, which was a nice touch. The receptionist, Xiaoyan, was very nice, friendly, and helpful. She was always willing to assist us and patiently answered all our questions. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and were very satisfied with the service.
