"Stayed at the heritage part of the hotel. Room smelled like cypress wood. Toilet had some leftover hair, towels had some stains, and WiFi wasn't working (didn't feedback as I had connection on my phone). Buffet breakfast and dinner was good. The service staff at the restaurant were also very welcoming and polite. As I stayed a couple of nights, the manager even got the kitchen to prepare sth different for me, which was a really nice touch and made the stay so much better. Hotel was situated near all the trails, which is a big plus for travellers whose main aim is to complete the trails. There is an observation deck for quite a good sunset view and night time photography. If you're taking your own ride from the city area, do note that you must drop off at the tourist visitor station and wait for the shuttle bus, normal cars aren't allowed up to the hotel area. Shuttle bus has a frequency of twice per hour to bring guests to and fro the tourist town."

"This hotel was in a great location in Alishan park. They offer a free shuttle to and from the visitor centre many times per day which was great. The room was clean. It had a small fridge and there was a drinking water dispenser down the hall. My only complaint is that our room was right outside where the train tracks are and we were woken up several times during the night from the train crossing alarm."

"We loved our stay at Alishan Home! Our room was spacious and very clean, the cottage itself was very quaint and had amazing views over the tea fields. For future travellers, if not eating dinner at the hotel, I would recommend going out for dinner early as there are not that many restaurants around and we found they closed early or were sold out by 7:30-8pm."

"We slept in the old wing. We were disappointed with outdated decor and poorly equipped bathroom. The sink was small with hardly any space to put your toiletries. There wasn't a desk or chair to sit down. Even the towels were old and not befitting of the high that we paid. Prior communication to guests about the timing of the shuttle bus service should have been done. There was also insufficient information provided to guests about some of the external activities like taking the train to watch the sunrise."
