"Lovely greeting. All very straight forward. Was an evening check-in so we were tired. Hotel looked a tad tired too - seen better days. Ground floor room so didn’t feel secure opening window at night. Turned radiator off to cool room down for sleeping. Was a stuffy nights sleep but a good sleep considering. Comfy, clean bed. Smoke alarm flashing green light was annoying - but I managed to sleep away fm facing it. Breakfast was just ok - a little disappointing. Sausages only ok. Scrambled eggs a bit rubbery. Mushrooms dry and tasteless. Bacon and fried bread good. Toast and spreads and hot drinks machine ok. Shame couldn’t take fresh coffee fm machine back to room … there was a notice saying not allowed. Basic bathroom as expected with shower hvg plenty of hot water … win. No-one on desk when left … box to post door key into."

"I didn’t sleep a wink with the scariest piece of hotel art I’ve ever seen hanging over my bed. I didn’t want to damage anything or I would have put it in the closet. I understand that I’m a wimp, but I wouldn’t come back here without specifically requesting that this photo not be in my room. IF YOU HAVE KIDS I might recommend the same. Her hands and neck are tied with a red ribbon and she was just staring down at me. That being said, the food was really good in the restaurant. I loved the option to eat in my room. The staff was helpful and friendly."

"The hotel is rather out of the way but no issues if travelling by car. Check-in was quick, simple and easy. Breakfast was cooked to order and excellent with plenty of choice including fresh fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, cereals and a great cup of coffee from a proper machine. Negatives Sadly there is no option for evening meals meaning having to drive into Crawley to get dinner. The bar is supposedly open until 11pm however when I went to it around 9.30pm the reception which doubles up as bar and breakfast area was dark with the only light on being the reception desk light, so very unwelcoming and not conducive to wanting a drink. The main part of the hotel is solidly built however I was in the annex at the back which has a number of rooms backing onto each other. The stud walls are incredibly thin and it felt like the people in the adjoining room were in mine, so note to oneself, if ever staying there again, make sure that the room is in the main part of the hotel."

"The hotel is next to the midway highway to Brighton, and we reduced the trip to Seven Sisters Cliff half the time so we could reach the attractions earlier. The customer service is warm and thoughtful, the parking is convenient, and it is a good place to live!"

"Made a last minute booking to stay the night after touching down in Gatwick at night with a migraineq, not knowing how isolated the place was. Its was dark and eerily quiet to get to, room was without heating and the hot water kettle was rusty and peeling. Still for the price, a very decent place to near the airport that offers a phone to directly call for United cars shuttl"

"It is absolutely very very clean place clean bedding very comfortable mattress I never been so happy like last night. I slept Very comfortable And the receptionist he was so nice the one I met when I first arrived as I don’t like the milk they put in a room he gave me a glass of milk and I was so happy he was so nice. "I chose this hotel due to its proximity to my cabin crew training centre. My room was clean, comfortable and modern with everything I needed for a great stay including an extremely comfortable mattress, a very nice shower and a kettle. I noticed how quiet it was too. All of these things combined meant that I was able to fully relax and sleep deeply. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. Also, regarding food & drink; the hotel offers an extensive menu. There are also places nearby including an M&S which is a 5 minute walk away. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone."

"We had a lovely overnight stay at the Sandman. It was wonderfully clean and quiet. The desk service was very good and they were helpful, noting we would be checking out before breakfast service and offering us a picnic breakfast to take with us. The only downside of this hotel was its isolation which meant you needed to use the restaurant on site. The servers were polite and attentive but the kitchen was incredibly slow, which was very disappointing. We also tried the pool and gym which were clean and basic."

"Great place and so close to Gatwick, with its own parking. Owners were really friendly and explained everything like how to come in and out with the door code and how we could use the kitchen or order food in and where the nearest pub was. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom neat and shower hot. We had to leave early for our flight so did not have breakfast but had a perfect one night stay there. Thank you"
