The Stone House Inn

The Stone House Inn

📍 270 CO-92, Crawford
★★★ 10 (51 reviews)

"Last minute find when the North Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison reopened today, July 30. We intended to visit the South Rim last week but had to skip due to closure (wildfires). But while a few hours away over the weekend we found that the NP was opening the North Rim, so we looked for a nearby place to stay for the night before our visit and found Nathan and Lara's Stone House Inn in Crawford, 30 minutes from the North ranger station. Great room, great hosts. Well appointed room with great bed, bathroom, wingback chairs, compact fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee and tea, Keurig and a kettle for hot water. Plates, cups, silverware all provided. We enjoyed our night before the park visit. Northfork Boardwalk restaurant is across the street, open from breakfast through dinner (10pm close, I think). Lazy J coffee shop for breakfast, coffee, cold drinks (including bottles/cans of beer and wine for takeout) is open 7am to 6pm. Nothing really to do in town, it's very small, but the Sone House Inn was great. For more food options there are towns 10-20 minutes away, and Montrose (even bigger) is about 45 minutes away. But for us, or for a few nights, this place was perfect."

Bross Hotel B & B

Bross Hotel B & B

📍 312 Onarga Avenue, Paonia
★★★ 9.6 (51 reviews)

"I booked the Bross Hotel because I was looking for a lavender festival. Instead, I found something I didn’t even know I needed. From the moment Justine greeted me in the parking lot with, “You made it. Welcome home,” I knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary stay. The Bross is more than a beautifully restored historic hotel. It’s a place that invites you to slow down. The windows open to the cool night air, the porch is lined with rocking chairs, and somehow the pace of life begins to change the moment you arrive. Every breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. These weren’t simply meals—they were experiences meant to be savored. The inn became the perfect home base for exploring Paonia, but what I’ll remember most isn’t a destination. It’s the feeling of being welcomed. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and unhurried. I arrived needing a weekend away. I left with a full heart, a new friend, and a reminder that life isn’t meant to be rushed. Thank you to Suzanne, Mike, Justine, and everyone who made my stay so memorable. I can’t imagine a better place to experience the warmth and hospitality of Paonia. I’ll be back."

Maison de Terre

Maison de Terre

📍 21704 Uintah Rd, Delta County
★★★ 9.8 (43 reviews)

"It was a true joy staying at the home of Marty and Terrie. Both are very kind, welcoming and warming people. They show true joy in having guests! We’d found this property through google and adjusted our trip to visit. When we drove up the land we saw a deer welcoming us! How amazing is that? We stayed in the yellow room. Nicely decorated decor and a very comfy bed! The bathroom is not en-suite but is easily accessed through the hallway. Everything you needed for having a great shower is there! We enjoyed a really good breakfast in the library and had a splendid cup of fresh made hot chocolate. The house is self built by the owners and looks just like a true gem. If I need to point out one thing that I was missing that would’ve been an AC. But that’s just a personal thing, since I always like to have cold fresh air in the room. You can leave the windows open if you want. We truly enjoyed our stay."

Grand Mesa Lodge

Grand Mesa Lodge

📍 25861 CO-65, Delta County
★★ 8.3 (55 reviews)

"I stayed here for four nights to do some trail riding and fishing. I snowmobile up on the Grand Mesa a lot in the winter and always wanted to come up in the summer. After reading reviews on the other lodges in the area and talking with them, I settled in on Grand Mesa Lodge. So glad I did. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Absolutely LOVED my cabin and the location. I had a fantastic trip and can't wait to go back. Great job staff. I travel all over Colorado very much and have stayed at dozens of lodges over my 40 years here. Some have been very disappointing and make you feel like you are bothering them by staying at their lodge. Thank you so much Grand Mesa Lodge for making me feel so welcome. Keep up the great work. I will be back often!!"

Honey Rock Landing

Honey Rock Landing

📍 2444 Dominguez Canyon Rd, Delta County
★★★ 8.8 (2 reviews)

"If there were a way to give 100 stars to Honey Rock Landing, I would in a heartbeat. Erica and the entire Honey Rock team were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our stay felt truly top tier. Even though the orchards weren’t yet in bloom, the sweeping views alone were worth the trip — expansive, quiet, and impossibly beautiful. Beyond the landscape, the cave suites are the epitome of out-of-the-box luxury. You can shower surrounded by warm stone walls or sink into a deep soaking tub spacious enough for two. When you step out, heated floors greet your feet, transforming what you might imagine as a damp cave into a cozy retreat that feels like you’re gently tucked into the earth itself. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare your own dinner, while thoughtful breakfast provisions await in the fridge for a seamless start to the next morning. One of the most charming amenities is the Honey Rock farm stand, tucked into its own cave and stocked with local goods, Honey Rock produce, honey, and keepsakes to remember your stay. While you could stop by Honey Rock on your way through Grand Junction, it is more than worthy of planning an entire trip around. Thank you, Honey Rock. We already cannot wait to return."

The Stone House Inn ★★★
"Very quaint and clean with everything one needs for a comfortable and pleasant stay. Immaculate, and beautifully furnished. Easy check in and check out. The innkeepers, Nathan and Lara, were very personable and welcoming. A gorgeous drive from Grand Junction to Crawford for a local ranch event and then staying the night before returning was a real treat! Our room was delightful, quiet and the bed was super comfortable. Everything was perfect, and we will stay again there in the future!"

"We can’t say enough good things about the Bross Hotel B&B. A leafy quiet street with plenty of parking. Beautiful, well kept building with lovely furnishings. Comfy beds, great showers and the air conditioning works well (it was hot during our visit but comfortable inside). The hosts are lovely and breakfast is delicious. We would stay here again (and it is the second visit for one of us!). Can’t recommend this hotel enough."

"Most unique venue in the world! The magnificent Gunnison River running along the red Entrada Cliffs is wonderful to see and hear. The perfectly manicured orchards of peaches, pears and cherries are a sight to behold. The hotels carved into the red sandstone are unlike anything I have ever seen!"
