"Arriving on December 25th, about 7pm in a completely deserted hotel lobby. It´s a Dutch hotel brand, proud to have 115 BU´s operating all over the country. Receptionists shows up. A stiff “good evening”, nothing more. No “Merry Christmas”, no “Welcome, how was your trip - after all, they cold see that I flew in from abroad”. Then another two words; “passport please”. No engaging conversation. Only asking for my credit card. Payment processed. “You´re in room 215, sir. That´s upstairs. Breakfast starts at 700hs, finishes at 1030hs”. End of Check-in. In the elevator cabin, I notice someone scratched the words “F**k You into the wood. Does the GM ever takes the elevator? In the room, shower is separated from the WC. Towels placed on top of the toilet seat, not in the shower. Breakfast was another challenge. Let´s not talk about the scrambled eggs, baking in a chafing dish. Or the humongous line to get coffee from 1 machine, strategically placed in the middle of the buffet – not apart. (I Didn´t get a 2nd cup of coffee; that 20-minute line discouraged me). A waiter, swiping off breadcrumbs from a table, straight onto the floor. Takes him 3 trips to the kitchen to clean the two-top; no tray used. “Sustainable practices limit itself in not cleaning the room, unless you ask. Disposable plastic salt and pepper mill on the tables, a vending machine selling 500ml plastic water bottles at the reception (3,49€ each). Seems the hotel is run by employees, without propoer training or guidance. Never saw the GM. I know, I work in hospitality, and when I was GM, I made sute to be present on Christmas, and other holidays. The is another property, about 7km away, where I once stayed and vowed never to come back. This is number 2. Happy holidays"

"This quite new hotel is well accessible, parking was a little more difficult. All is clean inside and outside, at reception drink and food. Prima service. Rooms were very clean, good beds. Shower and so excellent. The hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good, fresh and a lot of choice. A hotel to be happy to go back."

"Nice new hotel. Lots of friendly staff. Beautiful room with all the trimmings. Delicious breakfast, plentiful. Also had a nice dinner every evening. Impressed with the kitchen. The bicycle shed was also excellent and safe. We also used the bar, great atmosphere."

📍 Dorpsstraat 28, Elst

"Hotel rooms above the restaurant and function rooms. Downstairs, the terrace was full and the carnival association was busy practicing. We didn't notice any of that on the 2nd floor. Narrow stairs up, but there is also an elevator. The room was clean, very simple. The shower cubicle had doors that didn't close quite right. Otherwise, the room was very small, but okay for one night. Breakfast was fine. I do think the price is on the high side for the simplicity of the room."

"I've stayed here multiple times and would recommend the rooms with a courtyard. The experience is excellent on the first floor, but the second-floor rooms without a terrace or courtyard are much less enjoyable, and there's no elevator. The hotel is nestled in a forest with plenty of green space and a lake, making it an ideal choice for business travelers."

"We played the Escape from the Forest game at the Veluwse Poort. We were a group of 20 people. Upon returning from the game, we finished off with a delicious BBQ. It was a truly beautiful location. The game was really well organized. We walked for about an hour and a half. So, it's not for those with limited mobility. The BBQ was also perfect for those with dietary requirements. Whether it was vegetarian or halal, everything was prepared with the same care. They even considered separate BBQs. The drinks system with receipts also works perfectly. Drinks are recorded on a personal receipt, and everyone pays for their own receipt afterward. We'd also like to thank Bart for his excellent guidance during the game and during the meal."

Villa Veertien ★★★
"Great view over the river, but the hotel is very noisy. Conferences were held from early in the morning until night (9:30 pm). From the space adjacent to our room came loud talking until close to midnight. We have spoken to the manager, however he did not show any understanding for the situation and how it disturbed our so desired peace."

"The surrounding environment is first-class, with greenery everywhere, as well as a national park and campsites, making it a popular vacation spot. There are also many restaurants nearby, but having a car is essential for convenience."

Fletcher Hotel Landgoed Huis te Eerbeek ★★★
"At the heart of a (publicly accessible) estate, 1 km from nearest bus stop, two lovely old estate houses with some blocks of hotel rooms, and a newer building with restaurant/reception and the main group of rooms. Reception and restaurant are slightly understaffed, but very helpful; even lent us an ironer & board for a special occasion. Dinner in the restaurant (half board) was a bit slow but very nice. Breakfast is underwhelming in variety for the Fletcher 3-4 star standard; main cause is lack of display space in the restaurant. However freshly made and tasty. Our deluxe room (the sole one with a balcony) was spacious enough but, as apparently many other rooms, not easily to navigate. No desk for working but a small saloon table; separate WC and bathroom, especially the latter really smallish with no shelf at all for bathroom stuff though there would be some space. It's all mainly caused by the building apparently formerly having a different purpose than hotel, and the rooms needing to be laid out using all roofs etc already present. Overall a nice stay for a 3-star price level, which should be not much over 100 euro/night for a double except peak season. As the hotel often quotes considerably more, work to do for them..."

"We were here for 2 nights. First stayed in room 512, very nice with a view over the forest area. 1 point of attention, in the bathroom alcove there was still an opened shampoo bottle from the previous guests. Room service friendly, the food was super fast. Compliments to the kitchen brigade. Recommended the strawberry ice cream coupe. T****th night in room 304 was fine again. Now had dinner in the restaurant. Super friendly service employee Emma, the team could shake hands with an employee like you. You did a fantastic job, with a beautiful friendly smile and you were super helpful. We had used the vouchers for the welcome drinks and birthday voucher, so that also made our stay in the hotel twice as enjoyable. The toothbrush set and razor blade set are pricey. But all in all, this afternoon and evening are still good so far. Checking out will be possible tomorrow via the online self-check, which is also useful. And maybe we will have breakfast early tomorrow, but this can still be announced until 10:00 PM tonight. Room with bath coffee and tea facilities are so wonderful. We did not visit the sauna or swimming pool because that would give us another good reason to come again."
