Yarn Market Hotel ★★★

📍 25-33 High St, Dunster

"Thoroughly enjoyable second stay at YMH as part of a small walking group. Compact bedroom but everything functioned as it should. Happy with food at breakfast and dinner. Drinks reasonably priced. Owner went out of his way to provide complimentary soup, bread, hot drinks when we returned from a particularly wet & windy walk! Would definitely visit again."

"Central location .in a stunning village . A character property tastefully decorated and furnished . Welcoming hosts who went to great pains to anticipate their guests needs with so Many little extras . The included breakfast was freshly cooked and the fried bread was divine."

Luttrell Arms
8.9 (72 reviews)

Luttrell Arms ★★★

📍 32-36 High St, Dunster

"Beautiful old building with lots of interesting rooms to enjoy a beer or Two in. The staff are lovely. The food is mediocre and really expensive for what it is. We had the Turkey which at £21 was disappointing followed by a small piece of Christmas pudding with flavourless custard which cost £11. We had a better roast dinner at our local carvery for half the price."

Dunster Mill House ★★★★

📍 7 Mill Lane, Dunster

"We had a lovely 3 nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast in Dunster. It’s in the most beautiful spot next to the Mill Stream that runs to the watermill attached to Dunster castle. Our room was clean and comfortable and our hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone in search of peace and quiet and an escape from the rat race."

"We visited today as a family of 6, 4 adults and 2 children, for Sunday lunch. 2 courses for £20, which was excellent value for money. The quality of the produce was outstanding and the meals were phenomenal! Would highly recommend a visit. The staff are really lovely and helpful as well."

"Had a fabulous short break at this B&B. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is everything you need supplied from tea, coffee and biscuits to a full range of toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful. James and Jane are very friendly and helpful, offering excellent suggestions on restaurants and places to visit. Dunster is a lovely little village with good restaurants and pubs to suit every budget. The wider area is also great to explore we especially enjoyed visiting Lynton and Lynmouth using the open topped bus."

Luttrell Arms ★★★
"We arrived at 2pm on a Saturdsy afternoon, one lady behind the bar who was helpful in giving us a menu, but obviously busy. We got a table and decided on ordering the pea and mint soup @ £ 9.00 per person, but it did come with a pea fritter and bread!! Went to the bar to order and a condescending dandy, with the most unpleasant attitude took our order. He was obviously to busy to listen and tried to cover his incompetence by mocking us. Our soup turned up, microwave hot but tasty. The fritter was obviously in the soup when heated and turned into an undigestible piece of hard fat!!! Such a shame, ruined a lovely day out for our family"

Dunster Mill House ★★★★
"Set within the grounds of Dunster Castle, the location is nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is beautifully run by a couple who clearly take real pride in what they do. Breakfast was, without exaggeration, among the finest we’ve enjoyed in years - arguably even surpassing my own efforts. The fruit salad alone was a standout: thoughtfully selected, perfectly balanced, and presented with real care. A sincere thank you to Pete and Karen for such a memorable stay. There’s very little to fault. Some might mention the parking, but we had no trouble at all. In fact, the absence of early-morning engine noise and fumes was a welcome luxury - far preferable to the usual comings and goings."
