B&B HOTEL Essen-City ★★

📍 Helmut-Käutner-Straße 4, Stadtbezirke I, Essen

"Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this hotel. I was under the impression that their hotel cost 65 euros per night. Unfortunately, upon arrival, it turned out that we had to pay 95 euros. If the facilities were in order, I would have accepted that. However, it turned out that the hot water did not work during our entire stay. Additionally, there was no possibility for breakfast that morning. I made several attempts to contact the hotel. After a few attempts, I received a response. The option offered was a refund of 9 euros. I found this to be very inadequate. I am dissatisfied with my experience at the hotel, as well as with how complaints are handled afterward."

"Ants on the furniture in the room. Breakfast: when we arrived the scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and milk were already out. And they didn't plan to refill. We arrived 1:30h before breakfast would close."

Schlosshotel Hugenpoet ★★★★★
"We went there as a couple for breakfast. The ambience is really beautiful, very dignified and well-kept. The breakfast room has a wonderful view of the park and in summer you can sit outside. The table was already set with a selection of bread, rolls and croissants, as well as a tiered stand with a selection of sausages and cheese. That was the first thing that bothered me. I am a vegetarian and had asked for the sausage plate to be replaced. According to hygiene regulations, the sausage plate should actually be thrown away and you didn't know how long the food had been there. What a waste and really extremely annoying! The selection was really pretty poor. You can of course reorder some things from the breakfast menu. The fruit salad consisted of apple, orange and pineapple, so it wasn't very extensive. The avocado was served plain, no decoration, no lemon juice or anything. Only the eggs Benedict were really excellent and the best I have ever eaten. The service was very nice but not a single plate was cleared away. We had to stack them at the table and that didn't look very nice either. In the end we paid about 120€ and were incredibly disappointed."

Sheraton Essen Hotel ★★★★
"Very good environment, the hotel is located in a large park, the scenery is so beautiful, it is a plus, and the hotel facilities and services are good. It is a little far from the church and commercial street in the central area, but it is okay to walk there By the way, there is a good Italian restaurant 100 meters away from the hotel."
