"We have been staying at the Hotel Emporda for many years. Not just when we are passing through, but also as a starting point for excursions and sightseeing. The rooms are simple but big enough and functional, beds are good, the bathrooms work very well and have a whirlpool bath. Air conditioning is available as well as heating in winter. Plenty of free parking on site or a secure, inexpensive underground car park are an alternative for those traveling by car. Two petrol stations are a few hundred meters away. Charging facilities for electric cars are available on site. The hotel is a family business, now in its third generation. The hospitality and well-kept nature of the hotel and restaurant is remarkable. A small family business certainly cannot have everything new and fancy like the big chains. But instead of gimmicky furnishings, you get very well-kept hospitality and fair prices. The location is excellent (close to the center, close to the motorway). The view to the rear over the Penedès goes all the way to the sea. The large restaurant "El Motel" has only been open for lunch for a few years now, but it was and still is _the_ opportunity to enjoy modern and excellent Catalan cuisine where it was practically invented. Make sure to make a reservation on Sundays, otherwise recommended. In the evenings, the small restaurant is available with a smaller menu. The inexpensive, served breakfast made from first-class ingredients is particularly good, even excellent. It offers every possible choice and the flat rate already includes three extensive items to choose from, including hot drinks and (e.g. freshly squeezed orange) juice. You can see the long gastronomic experience at every corner and you can really feel like a guest and particularly comfortable. Dogs are allowed. Stay one night longer and visit, for example, the Dali Museum (15 minutes' walk) or go on a hike through the Penedès. From here, a clear recommendation for the hotel and restaurant."
