Noreen serves a great breakfast with lots of options, and she gave us lots of recommendattions of where we could walk and eat in the area. Her husband keeps the grounds and the house in great shape. Close to the National Park and 11 minutes from the Irish Sea."

"Excellent accommodation. Very good rates to stay, a fully equipped kitchen and a superb location. Our room was spotless and had ample storage space for our clothes and belongings. Our host Agnes was very knowledgeable about things to do, places to see, etc. One of the highlights being Altamont gardens nearby. 10/10 would recommend Monkey Puzzle to anyone visiting the area."

"We stayed here for 4 nights with a coach company. The location is a 2 minute walk from the river Slaney and 5 minutes from the castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone was very friendly and helpful creating a relaxed atmosphere. Our room had a power shower with fresh towels everyday and free toiletries to use. The rooms had coffee and tea making facilities. The beds were very comfy. They even provided earplugs (it is on a small main road). Our coach holiday was value for money. The breakfasts had so much choice, everything from cooked to cereals and fresh croissants. Most if not all food was locally sourced. The evening meals were 5 star. The staff even catered for my partners special diet.I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for a lovely holiday"

"Had a Christmas night out here with one of my Daughter's. 80e per person. This included a drink on arrival, and an enjoyable 3 course meal. Starters was soup, accompanied by a bread roll. The main meal was turkey and ham, stuffing, mashed potato, carrots and brussels sprouts. Gravy. Really nice. A selection of 3 small tasties for dessert. Smash hits was the band. Excellent. Highly recommend. Played for two hours, non stop never took a break. Great energy. Had everyone up on the floor dancing. Well worth going to see this band. Keep an eye out on the website to see where they will be performing. Brilliant atmosphere. Wheelchair accessible. Good parking."
