"The way this motel has handled our situation is absolutely unacceptable. Yes, we booked a non-refundable room we are aware of that. But we reached out over a week in advance to explain that we cannot attend because we have urgent medical appointments. This isn’t a casual change of plans. This is genuine, unavoidable, and important. Instead of showing even a shred of understanding, all they offered was 50% as a credit that must be used within 3 months. That is completely useless to us. We cannot travel there within that time. It’s not a refund it’s just forcing us to spend more money later, and it helps them, not us. It feels like they’re hiding behind policy instead of acting like actual humans. Policies should not override compassion, especially when guests are dealing with medical issues. Most decent businesses would make an exception under these circumstances, but not this one. They clearly care far more about squeezing every dollar out of people than doing what’s right. The whole experience has been cold, unhelpful, and unbelievably frustrating. We will never stay here again, and we’ll be warning others to avoid this place if they expect fairness, flexibility, and basic empathy."

"A very disappointing experience considering the top dollars we paid for what we were told were their premium powered sites along the river which turned out to be a rainwater runoff and close to the lake - which was a walk across the busy highway. No t.v. Reception (you could borrow an antenna cable for a $50 bond) but how would you connect it to your tv without leaving the door or windows open. Wifi was non existent. Only 2 showers and they had mouldy walls being painted over and over with the exhaust fan so dirty it looked like it had never been cleaned. Apart from 3 toilets in the shower room , there were two toilets installed closer to the campsites, however they had no exhaust or airing capacity. All washing machines were using cold water only and the drawer for the laundry powder was absolutel Filthy."

"The room was very good. All rooms are on the same floor. I got a free upgrade. The facilities are very new. There is a microwave in the room. The air conditioner is not noisy and works well. The bed can be moved. The location is good and easy to find. It is next to the lake. Recommended. It will be a bit dark at night. You can see the stars when you look up when you go out."

"We made a last-minute booking and arrived around 9 PM. Even though the reception wasn’t open at that hour, everything had already been arranged — our key was ready and waiting, and we were able to go straight to the room without any check-in delays. The host was welcoming and efficient, and the whole process was smooth. The room itself was simple but very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good night’s rest. The heated bed was a lovely touch on a cool evening, and the shower had strong pressure and consistent hot water — definitely appreciated after a long day on the road. A couple of things to note: the reception doesn’t operate overnight, so if you’re arriving late, it’s best to coordinate in advance. Also, while the motel is named after the native bandicoot, we didn’t officially spot one — but we did see something scamper across the roof!"

"I LOVE a country motel We booked a five bed, room for one night and were concerned about the compact layout but appreciated how they've managed the space efficiently and practically, which worked out well with everything we needed to be comfortable. Kaine rang to confirmed our booking and gave instructions of key retrieval and allowed us an early check-in which was a bonus. With it's convenient drive up room opening directly onto our car spot, our room itself was great. With it's exposed brick walls, brown interiors and lock chain on the door gave us a heavy dose of nostalgia. The location is set off the main road and only seconds to the centre of town. Sleep quality was great and the A/C was much appreciated. We also enjoyed the free Wi-Fi. This family operated motel suited our needs and we would stay here again and would recommend to others"

"I am sure this hotel is better than my experience. Stayed for business for one night but was supposed to stay two nights. Checking in- no one of front desk and took a while to get through to reception for them to tell me how to check in. Room itself is good- plenty of needed amenities, tv fine and bed fine. Shower good with enough hot water. Excellent kitchenette. Not setup for business, so chair an table not suited to this. I didnt sleep more than tiny snippets throughout the night- with people outside talking loudly then moving into drinking and talking loudly, adding people to this áprty'in loud vehicles then a 3am group of men arrived, piling into one unit with tv blairing. Walking past my unit- as a single woman, i was honestly scared. Horrible night. They refunded my work the full cost, which i appreciate."

The gardens are beautifully maintained, a really good amenities block and camp kitchen, lovely grassed sites and friendly operators.
