"On arrival we were greeted by Ben with a welcome cold drink, help with our luggage and a quick tour of Red Ivory, which was very well equipped and so peaceful. Huge bi-fold doors opening out onto the bush and splash pool area.The only sound constant bird song. We'd booked db&b and learned that Ben was the chef. His cooking was superb, making even our breakfasts special and serving up his delicious personal recipes for our evening meals. Then there was De Wet who was such a great host, There was much banter with him regaling us with stories of his exploits. (Many times with frowns from Ben when our food was waiting to be served!) His daily advice and knowledge was invaluable, Another Ben appeared the next morning. He looked after us at mealtimes and expertly fielded our many fauna/birding questions with great clarity & wit. Ben 2 also took us on a night bush walk. His care and knowledge was extraordinary and insightful. Thoroughly recommended. Then there was 'Si' who took us on a morning bush walk to give us a taste of tracking and birding round the beautiful reserve. Again very knowledgeable with a keen sense of humour. Kuleni is a perfect location to explore from, with Hluhluwe national park just 3/4 hours away. What made this visit very special was the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of Bushwillow's staff. Our four nights passed far too quickly and it was a sad parting on our last morning. So hank you again to the staff, seen and unseen who made our visit so memorable. "

"While very clean, potential of the lovely lodge is sadly let down by their lack of maintenance. Shower-heads in both our rondavels provided extremely minimal water - just getting soap rinsed off was a challenge so washing hair after a day in the bush is not an option. Bathroom door did not close due broken parts. Braai grids rusted & cooking in the kitchen was made difficult with only 1 medium frying pan, no pots, no wash-up cloths. Our one rondavel had no stove or microwave. Staff were always pleasant & arrival assistance with trolly was good, however, departure assistance was non existent. Staff need a heads-up that tips usually happen on departure. Having someone supervise these little things that make a big difference to one’s stay is vital in the hospitality industry as there are so many places one can choose from."

"Anew Hotel has the best staff, amazing pool, wonderful landscape, and location. They are close to KFC, steers, fishaways- however the hotel itself makes the most delicious food and desserts. Thami , Sbo and Giraad were always helpful and did their best to welcome us and make us comfortable. Our room- 100A ( separate from the main hotel, which was amazing as it had the view of the garden and our own parking and space), did noy have wifi coverage. We had to walk to the hotel itself for network. If you do not have data or an SA Sim card,this can be an issue. We did the following activities which were all in a 20 to 30 min close vicinity of the hotel. 1. Big 5 Safari at Hluhluwe Game Reserve 2. Emdoneni Wildcat cat Sanctuary 3. False Bay 4. Bayete Elephant Interaction This was the best time of our lives as we thoroughly enjoy wildlife and the outdoors. Thank you Anew Hotel. We will be back !!"

"Sadly, we only discovered there was a mistake with our booking when we arrived at the property. We had contacted the property directly to book two nights and compared their quote with the one we had previously received from BushBreaks. The quote from Malkhoha appeared to be cheaper, so we accepted it, believing we were getting a better rate. Unfortunately, we only later discovered that the property had quoted us for one night only, while the BushBreaks quote was for two nights. The property charged us R18,450 for two rooms for a single night, whereas BushBreaks had quoted R25,400 for the same two rooms for two nights. When we raised this discrepancy with management, they were unwilling to provide a satisfactory explanation and instead asked us to check out. The whole experience left us feeling disappointed and misled. We struggle to understand how a third-party booking company can offer a rate that is so much better than the property's own direct pricing. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this property. We also feel that the rates being charged are excessive for what is being offered, particularly given the way this situation was handled."

We met lady who has built a Viking House in the new Development called Petra Hamman- she was very interesting. We then did a Rhino procedure as part of our work with Thanda and Project Rhino."

"This was the worst experience I have ever had . We went in with low standards considering the star rating as it was a last minute booking . Unfortunately it was worse than we thought. There was barely water in the showers and bugs / gekhos everywhere. This could have been overlooked but unfortunately there was a rat running in our room late at night and we did not sleep a wink. I will not recommend this place to anyone . "
