Awa Holbox Hotel Boutique - Beach Front
9.0 (109 reviews)

Awa Holbox Hotel Boutique - Beach Front ★★★★

📍 Calle Carey Zona 002 Cp, Holbox

"Comfortable bed, room as pictured, location a bit far from the center but there are a few restaurants nearby. The beach is well-equipped with sun loungers. The restaurant in front of the beach is full of mosquitoes in the evening and doesn't offer mosquito repellent spray like some other restaurants."

La Puerta Azul Beachfront - Adults Only ★★★

📍 Calle Bagre, C. Caguama Supermanzana por, Isla, Holbox

"Breakfast was incredible - absolute highlight of the trip! Sat on the beach with the best view for brekkie! A fair way out from town but a beautiful stretch of beach! One of the nicest beach areas we saw and we walked along this section of the island a few times in our holiday there - excellent relaxing music & a good atmosphere with no children. Good & friendly service, nice and clean room, only negative was we struggled to find the entrance and had to wait for staff to check in. If you get rain be aware the roads get fairly waterlogged but you can just about navigate this."

📍 C. P.º Kuka Manzana 133, Holbox

"The rooms are equipped with the bare essentials – Mexican standards, some showers have low water pressure. The mattresses are great, but the breakfast is very greasy, with lots of fried food; for us, it's more like a lunch. It definitely needs more."

"The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. It is a small hotel, with a lot of charm, well careful, a very nice environment and a super friendly staff that make everything possible to make you comfortable, especially Arantxa that is a charm. "The hotel is located in the heart of the city, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city. We were made the unforgettable stay and we will certainly return to it, but in all-included regime because the buffet of both food and dinner is very diverse and thematic. I am widely recommended!!!! I was in love with the place 🥰"

Exe El Pueblito ★★★★
"I really liked the hotel because it's Mexican-style, all in wood, with very unique and well-appointed furnishings. Unfortunately, however, partly due to the sandy streets, the common areas are very dusty and unclean, and the pool is full of leaves and insects. We weren't at all satisfied with the breakfast, which isn't a buffet; you have to order from the menu, which only offers three egg dishes and a fourth dish with two slices of bread and a jar of jam. They then bring you fruit and a glass of juice. If you're still hungry or thirsty, you can't ask for seconds, and above all, there's not the variety you'd expect from a hotel breakfast. The hotel charged us taxes that weren't included in the booking, as if here in Mexico taxes just pop up without any planning and increase day by day."

My Blue Hotel Holbox ★★
"The hotel is fine, it looks relatively new and is well-maintained. The beaches are beautiful, but because of this, it's a bit isolated from the town center where the restaurants and shops are, although there is a small, poorly stocked shop next door and a small mini-market a little further away. It has two pools, but they are always cold. I don't know if they're bearable in the summer; we couldn't go in during the winter. The children and the Europeans didn't have as much of a problem. Being on an island, there's no medical service for serious situations, and the closest option is Cancun, a two-and-a-half-hour ferry ride followed by a drive, so be prepared. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The TERRIBLE thing is the restaurant. The food in general is poorly seasoned, but the worst of all is the BREAKFAST. There are only HORRIBLE scrambled eggs that seem to be made with water, sausages, beans, chilaquiles, and pancakes. The juice is diluted with water and syrup (we saw it). It's outrageous! As if they didn't charge enough! The sweet bread was awful, the coffee was scarce and they didn't serve it at the table. The food trays were always empty because there were too many guests and they couldn't keep up. It was so bad that on the third day we decided to go to a neighboring hotel (and pay $1500 for 3 people) with an excellent, very generous buffet and excellent service, all the coffee we wanted, and they always served us at the table. They had scrambled eggs prepared beforehand, but you could also order an omelet with different extras made to order, etc. Overall, a thousand times better. The tours the hotel sells don't tell you that it's not the season, so on the bioluminescence tour you can barely see anything and you have to keep moving the water around to get a glimpse of it, and on the three-island tour you don't see a single pink flamingo. We definitely will NOT be returning to this hotel."
