"We spent a couple of nights at the Makena after a business trip to Fortaleza. What a wonderful place to unwind after a busy week! The grounds are beautiful. The staff very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The room was spacious, modern and the bed was so comfortable. The included breakfast was cook to order off an extensive menu including fresh pressed juices, freshly baked breads/pastries (savory and sweet!) and started with a beautiful fresh fruit plate for the table. In the afternoon the kitchen transforms into their signature restaurant, Nui, for lunch and dinner. The food was amazing. The beef tacos starter was a standout, as were all the seafood dishes we tried. The beach is about 200m from the hotel. The staff will set up a shelter for you in advance and deliver snacks/drinks right to the beach with orders via WhatsApp. We wish we could have stayed a couple more days!"
