"This hotel is in a super convenient location, right next to Lucerne train station. It's a lifesaver if you're traveling with luggage or by train. There's a Migros right across the street, which is perfect for grabbing snacks, drinks, fruit, or daily necessities. It's really quick to stock up before heading back to the hotel in the evening. And there's a McDonald's nearby too, so if you get hungry late at night or just want a quick bite, you don't have to go far. The area around the hotel has fantastic amenities, with lots of restaurants and shops. You can easily walk to Lake Lucerne and all the main attractions, and an evening stroll is really pleasant. With such great transport links and an excellent location, it's highly recommended whether you're traveling independently or visiting Switzerland for the first time. Overall, my stay was very convenient, saving a lot of time on transport and lugging bags around. I'd definitely want to stay here again on my next trip to Lucerne."

"The room was a little cold even with the heating on maximum. Location was good and facilities in the room is excellent. They even have a coffee machine in the room."

"Absolutely perfect service! The front desk staff were incredibly polite. We arrived early and left our luggage, and to our delight, when we returned, they had already placed our bags in our room. "1. Transportation: From Lucerne train station, you can take a bus (check SBB for details). The bus stop is right in front of the guesthouse. 2. Air conditioning is available. 3. There's no in-room kitchen, no kettle, and no mini-fridge. 4. There are two elevators, so no worries about heavy luggage."

"The beauty of stepping out and seeing the lake – who understands that? The intern at the front desk was so sweet and polite. Lucerne truly is a place you'll yearn to return to; it completely fulfilled my Swiss fantasies. I want to go back again!"

"It's okay to stay overnight within 10 minutes walk from Lucerne Station. It's close. Good to carry a suitcase. It is a good place to leave your luggage before check-in. And on the first floor, we had a restaurant, and they gave us a restaurant coupon, and they didn't use it. There was no electric pot in the room. I think there was a coffee machine. When you go out, it's good to go to the Capel Bridge right in front of you. There is Starbucks next to it."

"This is a great hostel. It was a bit noisy because there were some kids on a study trip that day, but I booked a 20-bed dorm and only three girls checked in, so it was very quiet. The accommodation was also excellent. The location is a little far from Lucerne train station, but it's still within walking distance. The staff were all very good. Breakfast didn't have many options, but it was decent enough."

"Central, Comfortable, and Classic Swiss Hospitality – Hotel Astoria LuzernI recently stayed at Hotel Astoria Luzern and came away really impressed. Location: Perfect. It’s right across from Lucerne train station and 2 minutes from the lake. Chapel Bridge, Old Town, and boat piers are all walkable in under 10 minutes. If you’re exploring central Switzerland by train, you literally can’t get more convenient.Room: We had a Superior Double and it was spacious by Swiss standards. Very clean, quiet, and the bed was excellent — slept great every night. Modern bathroom, good lighting, and blackout curtains. Nice touches like Nespresso machine and free bottled water daily.Breakfast: A real highlight. Huge buffet with Swiss cheeses, cold cuts, fresh bread, Bircher muesli, hot items, and barista coffee included. The breakfast room has views of Pilatus on clear days. Worth waking up for.Facilities: The spa/sauna area is small but well kept and perfect after a day of walking. There’s also a fitness room. We ate at the Astoria Restaurant one night — solid Swiss/international menu and great wine list.Service: Warm and professional. Front desk staff were fluent in English, gave great tips for Mt. Rigi and lake cruises, and stored our luggage after checkout. Check-in/out was fast. You can tell they’re used to international travelers but still keep it personal.Vibe: Classic 4-star European hotel with tasteful updates. Feels upscale without being stuffy. Great mix of business travelers and tourists.Minor notes: Rooms facing Pilatusstrasse can get some street noise if windows are open, but with them closed it was quiet. Parking is valet-only and pricey, which is normal for central Lucerne — better to arrive by train if you can.Overall: For location, comfort, and service, Astoria is one of the best value 4-star options in Lucerne. We used it as a base for day trips to Titlis, Rigi, and the city itself, and it was perfect. Rating: 4.5/5 Would stay again without hesitation. Highly recommend for couples and families visiting Lucerne."

"The room is very warm, the window is the cattle and horses of the farmers, very good natural environment, very quiet, breakfast is very rich. The location is a few hundred meters from the city center train station. It is very convenient to take a S6 from the city center train station for ten minutes."

"Location wise is good as it’s right in the middle of the old town. Walking distance from the ferry dock and train station but stairs and cobblestones make it hard to drag your luggage. The only redeeming quality about the room is its size. The quadruple room is a good size for 4 adults with 4 luggages. However the amenities are close to nothing, the wifi is crap and the TV is always faulty. Cleanliness is average - doors are chipped and rusty, the tub is also chipped and dirty. We stayed quite a lot of nights and after the first two nights it’s like the housekeeping staff gave up on properly cleaning the room and replenishing the amenities. Would stay again only as a last resort."
