"It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!"

"Highly recommended! This place completely fulfilled my expectations of a traditional Japanese ryokan from movies and anime. Tatami mats, sliding doors, a tea table – it had it all, and the room was very clean and quite spacious. I loved the designated spot for shoes right at the entrance. The lobby on the first floor is beautiful and perfect for photos. Upstairs, there's a communal onsen (with both indoor and outdoor baths) and a rock bath, with separate times for men and women. The area isn't huge, but with fewer people this season, it was very relaxing. On the second floor, there's a common area where you can enjoy tea, chat, do some light exercise, or read manga. My only awkward moment was not realizing there was no breakfast; I waited in my room for half an hour, which made me rush later. I didn't get to visit Mount Omuro this time (the cable car was out of service), but if I'm ever in Ito again, I'll definitely stay here."

"The service here was actually problematic for a hot spring inn. They didn't even make up the futon beds for us. I had to call and ask them to, and even then, they didn't do it. They just opened the closet where the futons were stored, basically implying I should make the bed myself. The facilities are a bit old, but the location and views are great, and breakfast was good. Dinner was a bit simple. The hot springs themselves were excellent, with good views and facilities, making for a very comfortable experience."

"This hotel is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Ito Station, right by the sea. There's a road downstairs, so be aware that if your room faces the ocean, you might hear traffic noise at night, which could be an issue if you're a light sleeper. Ito feels like a charming small town; it's not too crowded, and exploring the local shops and streets was quite enjoyable. The room was quite spacious for Japan, though the facilities were a bit dated, everything was still very clean. We slept directly on the tatami mats and didn't use the TV or anything. Note that they have two buildings separated by the road in front of the reception. They also offer hot springs and private baths, but we didn't have time to try them. For service, two elderly gentlemen handled our check-in, and they spoke English."

"We ( 7 of us ) booked 4 rooms in end of March, staying in Laforet for 3 nights because it has private onsen in the hotel room. Very clean ( typical japanese cleanliness), its huge ! You have both choices to stay in 2 super single bed or set your futons at the tatami lounge. Its super comfortable. When we arrived to the hotel on a Wednesday and was hoping to have a meal at the hotel, the hotel front desk told us that we could NOT dine in the hotel as it is fully booked for whole month. We were very dissappointed, as we are paying hotel guests in the hotel and we are not allowed to dine in the hotel?! so we have to go outside of the hotel and look for dinners for next 3 days. The town is very small and serene. So if you are looking to stay in a secluded non touristy place, this hotel definitely suitable."

"My first hotel in Japan, and I immediately noticed the distinct difference from hotels back home. The elderly gentleman at the front desk was warm, humble, and polite, and they also had brochures with information on Ito's attractions and transportation, available for guests to pick up. The room was very clean and just right for my friend and me. The hotel isn't far from Ito Station, making morning train transfers very convenient. We woke up to mountain views, and the hotel even has a 24-hour coin laundry facility. Overall, it was very convenient in every aspect. Our two-day experience on the Izu Peninsula was fantastic. If I ever revisit Izu, I would definitely consider staying here again."

"The environment is beautiful, with views of Mount Omuro and the sea from the hotel. It offers a unique tranquility and peace found only in the Japanese countryside. There's a free shuttle bus to Izu-Kogen Station, which is quite convenient. The food is exceptionally good; the 'dinner and breakfast' plan offers a rich, delicious, and plentiful spread. In the afternoon, there are sweet potatoes, and at night, a bowl of noodles for a late-night snack. There are many hot spring baths, including private ones, and after a soak, you can enjoy Haagen-Dazs ice cream."

"The best hotel on this trip to Japan, love. Open the door, my friend exclaimed that it was the landlord's house 😄. Pure Japanese style, the housekeeper began to introduce in detail from the front desk, and came to the door to bring hot tea and Japanese snacks, friendly and comfortable. The private soup in the room is not too good! The room was delivered with snow muscle essence suit gifts, as well as small bags with kimono, which repeatedly reminded us that we could take it away as gifts. The slippers are wooden rafts, which is really a proper atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast are served in the room. The little girl waiter smiled and introduced them together, and they came up one by one, which was no different from the Michelin we had eaten. When we left, the waiter took the initiative to take pictures of us and printed them for us on the spot. The smile waved us away from the sight. This service and experience are really great value. If you go to Izu next time, it’s not here."

"Very nice onsen. Room has some stains, outdated bathrooms that had persistent lingering odors. Too pricey for what it was and the location honestly, but the hotel itself was decent."

"We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability.) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range. One thing to note is that the hotel is located halfway up a hill, so I don't recommend walking there if you have large luggage. You can contact the hotel in advance to inquire about shuttle bus options or take a taxi from Ito Station. If you absolutely must walk, do not follow Google Maps' route from Minami-Ito Station, as this path involves climbing stairs and going over a hill."
