"I keep forgetting to leave a review, but I absolutely *have* to give this hotel a great one! We came out of Chikan Ancient Town late on New Year's Eve, and it wasn't far at all. To be honest, the moment I walked in, I could tell this hotel had been around for a while, so I wasn't really expecting much. But our stay was full of pleasant surprises! 1. The river view is stunning. 2. The room has been renovated and is super comfortable. 3. They actually have a NIO battery swap station – a huge surprise for car owners! 4. We even got a free Chikan Ancient Town fridge magnet."

"It was really pricey because of the holiday, but the interior design totally made up for it; the ambiance is great. However, I have to point out two things: 1. This is the most expensive hotel in the whole scenic area, yet there's no dedicated parking. Finding a spot was a nightmare (it's best to contact the front desk beforehand and ask them to open the back gate). 2. They seem to be understaffed, and some employees' service attitude was just so-so (though the guy at the door when we checked out was very good). And the person who showed us to our room didn't offer to help with our luggage once – it was quite annoying 😑. 3. The carpet in the elevator looked a bit cheap and ruined the designer's consistent style. I hope they'll replace it."

"The room layout was unique, and the river view from the window was great. The shower had excellent water pressure, which was amazing. The wooden flooring in the bathroom was clean, and the mattress was super comfortable – even I, who usually struggle with new beds, adapted instantly. The front desk service was incredibly attentive, and the complimentary coffee was delicious. The indoor parking was very convenient, so no worries about getting wet in the rain."

"Checked in on March 1st and left on the 2nd. I was hoping to avoid the crowds and bring my elderly family to experience the New Year's atmosphere in Chikan, but the hygiene issues at Jinxu Hotel significantly impacted their experience. We arrived at 1 PM on the 1st, and the hotel gave us the room early (our booking stated 3 PM check-in). We were happy to enter our room (balcony twin room), but found the tabletop uncleared with large oil stains, the floor was also uncleared with hair and debris everywhere, and the bedsheets were messy with signs of use. Since we had a show booked for 2 PM, we quickly called a staff member. When we returned to the room in the evening, the tabletop and floor had been tidied up a bit, but still weren't clean. Even more ridiculous, when we opened the balcony door, there were used beverage bottles and cigarette butts piled up, as shown in the picture. Speechless. If you don't mind the hygiene, then go ahead and book."

"A hidden gem. I don't even want to share this review to make this hotel too popular! As a person who doesn't speak very good Chinese, the staff at this hotel were very accommodating despite the language barrier. When you first arrive at the hotel, you are greeted by a creative garden complete with outdoor dining areas, swings, a fish tank, and more. On check in, the receptionist was very attentive to all of my questions and directed me to the places I asked about through wechat. It was very easy to follow the directions. I was also offered a spread of fresh fruit to enjoy before settling in my room. The room was spacious and clean and had the most advanced toilet that I have ever used! There was a wide open window for a beautiful view of the dialou across the pond. The suite of amenities was also much appreciated, including snacks, toiletries, and slippers. A highlight of this hotel is the breakfast. They not only provide the standard Chinese breakfast fare such as porridge and pastries, but also served local kaiping specialties. They also have food you can order off of a menu but I didn't have anything during my stay. Upon checkout I was also given a goodie bag filled with local specialties and treats which was much appreciated!"

"The hotel's overall ambiance has a child-friendly theme, which kids loved, and the facilities were decent. However, the biggest issue was the sheer number of mosquitoes in the room. My child got several bites. On the first night, the adults spent most of the time swatting mosquitoes and didn't get to sleep until very late. The mosquito repellent provided by the hotel wasn't effective. The next day, we specifically asked the front desk to spray for mosquitoes during housekeeping or provide a couple more repellents, but the hotel did neither. As a result, the situation was just as bad on the second night... By the third morning, the mosquitoes were probably so full they could barely fly, making them easy to kill. I wonder if this is the hotel's 'indirect mosquito control strategy' – let the guests feed the mosquitoes until they're too full to move, then take them out? I really suggest the hotel takes mosquito control seriously, especially for a family-friendly hotel. It's heartbreaking to see children bitten."
