Jaz Amaluna - Adults Only 16+
"The beach is beautiful & when the tide goes out every 6 hours you can walk out for ages but take sand shoes. The resort is only small you can walk around in 5 minutes it’s a perfect size for a low key get away. We had a deluxe room 1022 on the front line & the views were amazing our room was very large & great size balcony Our room maid Miriam was amazing our room was spotless as was the whole resort. The service was amazing we were really blown away the GM and managers were always visible & ensuring all guests were happy nothing was too much trouble, big shout out to Mimi the best concierge ever. The pools guys & bar staff were all amazing & very attentive again nothing was to much trouble, the entertainment guys were fantastic Issay & Makarme with their water aerobics & stretching each day. Outstanding service for us went to Edson, Issac & Agnes they always went above & beyond. There are so many to mention who made our stay so happy and memorable. There is a big main buffet the food was outstanding & if you want anything special cooked just ask & they will cook for you. A second smaller restaurant is located above the beach with great views out & serves as a 2nd restaurant for lunch & a la carte in the evening. The beach is really nice & safe to swim in but take sand shoes the location is beautiful & the one standout for me you didn’t get pested by locals trying to sell you trips on the beach. The spa offers a wide range of treatments with a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, we visited twice , we had the honeymooners treatment which included salt scrub, mud wrap and massage, Lisa was excellent! I can’t recommend this hotel enough for a low key quiet get away from it all holiday we will definitely return."

Dream of Zanzibar Resort & Spa - Premium All Inclusive
"Great and timely service. Friendly staff. Special mention to Innocent (Reception) and Geoffrey (Dinning area) Beautiful private beach 😔 Distance from the airport. Room lacked vanity kit (Toothpaste, toothbrush, shower cap) All in all, great place, worth the time and money. Will come again. Rating - Strong 8.5/10"
Pongwe Bay Resort
"The hotel is very nice but is starting to look a little tired in places. The swimming pool and beach are lovely and it's a very relaxing place to be. The food I'm afraid is not good. My friend and I arrived mid morning and we had left Arusha very early in the morning so we needed coffee and something to eat. We were given a cup of instant coffee, dried bread and a couple of stale croissants....not a good start! At lunchtime we decided to share a pizza. It was a shop bought pizza and I don't have a problem with that but this pizza was awful. That evening we went to the pier restaurant and it is so lovely there but the food lets it down. It was my friend's birthday and the owner of the hotel suggested we have the seafood platter. At $110 dollars for two it's quite expensive but we were on the half board basis so we each had $35 dollars towards our meal. The seafood platter was ok but overcooked and it should have been fabulous. The next day we went back to this restaurant and we ordered two different seafood main meals but they didn't have it. We decided just to choose a starter each My friend chose vegetable samosas and they were out of the freezer. I chose the calamari which was inedible. You couldn't bite into it and it was so stretchy I said I could use it as a hairband! We were starting to get a bit fed up with the food at this point. Breakfast is totally uninspiring. Stale bread, stale cake and you can get eggs cooked but you wait ages. There is last nights curry and rice on the menu and you might find a small amount of cheese. Some days there was yoghurt and some days there wasn't . The coffee is hideous so we would have to hunt on the tables for peppermint tea and when the staff bought hot water for your tea it was never hot enough. The staff were nice at breakfast but not on the ball enough. We were constantly asking for butter to be put out and for more tea. By day 3 we were eating very little at the hotel and we found a nice little place at the end of the beach where you can get dinner for less than $4. Because of the daytime heat we could only really go to this place in the evening. Every lunchtime we would just have a plate of chips from the restaurant as it was the only thing we thought was ok. Due to having small breakfasts and inadequate lunches and my anti malaria tablets I became really ill. I had a whole day in my room feeling so ill and I did actually think I was going to have to get a doctor in. Fortunately my friend went into town and got me electrolyte drinks and got me some bananas . The next day I was a little better and was able to spend a bit of time on the beach. A couple of the staff on the main desk did show concern for me and where helpful in getting me on the mend. I tried to make the best of my last few days but because of the food and the feeling ill I couldn't wait to go home. The owners really need to get their act together with the food as it is just not good enough. They have a lovely relaxing hotel on a beauti"
Zanzibar Bay Resort & Spa
"Paradise Beach resort is a great place to stay. We stayed 11 nights in room 62, with the best view on the sea. Please keep in mind that this is a children-friendly hotel. So a lot of playing kids and every night some sort of show or activity. Pro's - The staff is amazingly friendly. - The resort has 3 restaurants with great quality food. Not something we expted from a resort. - some shops located on the resort, for souveniers and small groceries. - the gym is new - cool activities to book from the resort Cons - the beach isn't that beutiful as other places on Zanzibar and the tides make it sometimes not possible to swim. - every night at 21.00 there is a show until 22.00 which is very loud. So sleeping is hard during this time. - Wifi is very slow"
Avo Boutique Hotel
"Just perfect"
Andy's Inn Michamvi
"We liked the hotel; the staff was very polite and helped us with every question. The rooms are spacious and have everything we needed. The road to the beach is not very good, and there's a lot of trash, but that's typical of Zanzibar. We had a great time."
Le Mersenne Zanzibar, Autograph Collection
"The best ocean view with the best amenities"
Treetop by Eight Continents Zanzibar
"The location is a bit far from the city center, but the overall environment and facilities are pretty good."
