"This hotel is just 200 meters from Pattaya Beach Pier, a bit quieter than The Ananya. Walking Street is also very close if you walk along the beach. The breakfast was decent, and the Thai milk tea was delicious. The service was good too; they helped us with our luggage and took us to the boat, which seems to be standard for island hotels – something Koh Lipe does better than Koh Samet. We went during the low season, so the prices were cheaper, and there were fewer people. The pool was practically empty. You have to pay to use the hotel's kayaks, whereas the one at The Plantation was free for two days, though the kayaks there weren't as good as Akira's. The room was large and quiet, and the 2-meter bed was very comfortable. I recommend this place."

"Let's start with the positives: the location and environment are truly excellent, no complaints there. But that's pretty much where it ends. For a hotel that costs 2000 per night, my biggest takeaway is this: it charges luxury hotel prices, but the service doesn't match up at all. The water situation is truly frustrating. I understand that the water quality on a small island isn't always great, and I even brought a filter showerhead. I can accept it turning yellow after two days. However, the bathroom water consistently smells strongly of sewage as soon as you turn it on, and it's not occasional – it's a constant issue. Even the water for washing up has that smell; you start questioning your life choices while showering. The room assignment also felt discriminatory. I had emailed more than a month in advance, and again two days before check-in, to link my booking with my friend's. Yet, they ended up giving us the two furthest rooms, literally at the very end of the corridor. One end room would be understandable, but deliberately giving us two end rooms? The bathroom floor is also very slippery, and there's a small step at the entrance, which is a safety hazard. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. As for the service, it's even more subtle. It's not that there aren't staff, but their presence feels off. We asked for an ice bucket several times and it never came. We waited so long for our food order that we wondered if it had been forgotten. At check-out, there were six staff members at the front desk, all busy with their own things, and we just stood there waiting, with no one asking if we needed help. We eventually had to ask ourselves, and only then did they print out a bill for payment on the spot. Regarding the WiFi, it's not non-existent, but it disconnected countless times over four days. After reporting it several times, initially, NO ONE replied! You wouldn't believe it, absolutely no one. Later, I called and got angry, and they sent a very mean female employee who asked, "Does it work now?" with an expression that said, "What can you do to me?" After I complained, the legendary "manager" provided a "VIP WiFi." What does that mean, they don't give good WiFi to begin with? Another overall impression is that their enthusiasm for "paid services" is significantly higher. I tried to book an island hopping tour via email in advance, but upon check-in, they said they couldn't arrange it and then immediately started recommending other dates. The return boat ticket was initially quoted at 2100. For convenience, we said we'd let them book it, but two days later, it became 2500. There was never any formal quotation, just messages typed in an app. We compared it to the walking street nearby, where it was about 2300. The price difference isn't even the main point; it's the uncomfortable experience. Replies to regular requests are extremely slow, but as soon as a paid item is involved, the response speed immediately increases. Overall, if you're just coming to take photos and enjoy the scenery, this place is fine. But if you're looking for a hotel vacation, especially since Koh Lipe itself isn't big and all beaches are public, this price is not worth it for a resort experience. The only thing I want to praise is the guy who's in charge of fruits and juices at breakfast. He has a great attitude and is very diligent. He keeps all the juice combinations timely and accurate, and even brings them to your table. It was one of the few genuinely attentive services we received during our stay."

"Summary: the hotel charged heavily for it, but didn't live up to its 5-star rating, rather a 3-star. Main reasons: Maintance not enough, everything seemed worn and in need of repair. Beds (round) were terrible, very hard and the round shape is useless for a tall person. Pillows were the worst. Pool wasn't kept clean and also not full, so not infinity , as intended and described. First few days the phone wasn't working, so didn't feel secure, in case of emergency. The style of the restaurant wasn't attractive in comparison with others on the island. Also missing spa/gym/massage offers, not in Thailand. No body lotion in the bathroom, not OK for a premium hotel. Wrong instruction for the safe. Positive: the staff, very friendly and helpful, but some seemed not trained enough for a 5-star hotel. Location and the beach was amazing. Breakfast and laundry service was good. Nice layout of the villa. Loved to have our own pool and secluded beach area."

"The hotel picked us up from the pier. There's a large swimming pool in the middle of the hotel, facing the sea. The rooms themselves are pretty average. We booked a ground floor room which was very convenient. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, but there was an old man, who looked like he was from Southern China, always sitting in the restaurant area, who had a terrible attitude. On our second day, we wanted an extra duvet because we were fighting over the existing one, and he very impatiently said no! Couldn't a 6-foot bed accommodate it?! We then spoke to the lady at the front desk again, and she was all smiles and promptly provided us with an extra duvet. The breakfast was quite ordinary. Having stayed at several hotels on Koh Lipe, this one was honestly the worst! Not recommended. I'd recommend Akira instead."

"Absolutely not worth the price. I first stayed at the 4-star October next door, then moved to the 5-star Elin, and honestly, the service and food at October were far superior to Elin. The staff at Elin were cold and unwelcoming, or maybe that's just how they treat Chinese guests, because they were all smiles and bowing when interacting with Westerners. On the first day, we arrived for breakfast around 9:45 AM, and many items were gone with no one replenishing them. The next day, we arrived around 8 AM, and the fresh milk was sour. We called a staff member to take it away, but no one came to apologize or follow up. My friend woke up the second morning with many red bites all over his body, likely from insects. P.S. The pool was incredibly dirty! Overall, it was a complete mess. This is my first time leaving a negative hotel review. It's really bad, definitely avoid this place!"

"The deluxe villas are extremely small with no wardrobe to keep your clothes. The water pressure in the shower was very low hence showering was a bit challenging. "We stayed 5 nights at Akira Lipe Resort and 3 nights at Mali Sunrise Beach Resort. Although Mali Resort was more expensive, overall Akira Resort was much better in almost every aspect. In terms of cleanliness, swimming pool condition, facilities, and staff friendliness, I honestly don’t understand why Mali charges a higher price. Sunrise Beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated the complimentary kayak rental. Breakfast was also very good. However, there were some serious issues. The bedding was not properly maintained — while the outer cover looked clean, the inner duvet was yellowed and visibly stained underneath. Most concerning was the swimming pool. The pool water was visibly dirty even to the naked eye. After spending a long time swimming, both my husband and my child developed skin rashes and suffered from severe stomach problems. They had been swimming, diving, and accidentally swallowing some pool water. I did not swim at all, and I was completely fine, while both of them experienced the same symptoms. This strongly suggests that the pool hygiene needs urgent improvement. I visited in early February during peak season. Pattaya Beach, where Akira Resort is located, was calm, wave-free, and much more enjoyable for swimming and relaxing. Sunrise Beach, although beautiful, had very strong waves, making it less suitable for playing in the water. That said, kayaking to the small island directly in front of the resort for snorkeling was an amazing experience. This is definitely one of Mali Resort’s biggest advantages. Some of the restaurant staff were warm and kind, but most of the staff, including those at reception, appeared tired and expressionless. Overall, I personally do not think this resort offers good value for the price and would not recommend it. For the same budget, I would strongly suggest staying at Akira instead."
