Americas Best Value Inn Battle Mountain ★★

"The hotel was quite good and clean. I had preferred to stay in another city while traveling, but this is the one we ended up in, and it was a very welcome stop after 2 full days of driving. the staff was pretty friendly and helpful, whether later at night or in the morning, and the prices were pretty good for the quality and cleanliness. It doesn’t seem like good reasoning that a partly full hotel costs $100 per night, especially when you arrive late at night and are only there to sleep, and my friend wouldn’t have eaten the breakfast if I hadn’t got some for her, but that really full hotel costs 125 or more. Partly full should be $80 or cheaper to possibly entice more people, especially on a weekend? Pillows are always a crapshoot at motels/ hotels. Battle Mountain ended up being a quaint place with their historical museum. I didn’t eat the breakfast because I don’t/ can’t do the square cheese singles and the main protein that wasn’t dairy were small egg and cheese soufflé/ quesadilla type things (but without the tortilla - egg round “patty” folded in half with square type cheese in the middle). I think there were also biscuits and gravy (dairy) and yogurts (dairy with lots of added sugar). I’d have preferred regular scrambled eggs, which were apparently on back order, but that’s why I travel with my own preferred Winco brand oatmeal packets lol Filling and I can get some nutrients and fiber and control the added sugar, which isn’t for weight management purposes. Added processed sugars feed SO MANY viruses, bacteria, and cancers, along with some being challenging for the liver to process apparently. But the trash can on the outside of the side of the building (near the restaurant next door) was OVERFLOWING on Saturday morning and it was CRAZY windy and no one seemed that concerned with emptying it because “the one guy” wasn’t there who does that."
