Amazing
GGuest UserThe room is a bit packed as the bed is super big. Having said that, the room is nicely designed and decorated. Free mini-bar with daily refill is rarely found in hotels in Europe. The buffet breakfast is absolutely the highlight. The omelette is crispy outside and molten inside, preserving the freshness and original flavours of all ingredients. Must try! All hotel staffs are polite and helpful. In terms of location, whether or not it is convenience, it depends. It is in the middle of Salzburg central station and the old town, going to either location is about 12 minutes walk. Salzburg down town is not big anyway. Everything is in walking distance.

Great
GGuest UserThe room size is medium, and the single bed isn't very big, but the bathroom is quite spacious with a bathtub and a separate shower/toilet area. The bed and pillows are comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent, making it very quiet. There's an elevator and windows that can be opened. They provide complimentary apples, drinking water, sparkling water, and a kettle. It's very close to the train and bus stations, and there are three supermarkets nearby.

一人丸菱商事The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station, making it easy to reach on foot from Salzburg Central Station, even with a lot of luggage. The rooms offer minimal amenities, as it's a sustainable hotel. Just like in Germany, there's no mini-fridge in the room, which was inconvenient when I wanted a cold drink. My only options were to buy one at the hotel bar or at a supermarket near the station. I highly recommend waking up early and taking a walk around the hotel. The streets are beautiful.

TTanxingren-yanguangyuThe location was fantastic! It's just a 15-minute bus ride from the city center, and public transport is super convenient. Right next to the hotel, there's a restaurant, a supermarket, and even a gym. The hotel room itself was very clean and tidy, and the staff were incredibly friendly. There seems to be a police station downstairs, with officers frequently changing shifts, which made me feel very safe.

GGuest UserThe room itself was very spacious and generally comfortable, so in terms of physical space and basic facilities, the experience was acceptable. However, several service-related details significantly affected my overall impression. First, this was the first hotel I stayed at in Europe that does not offer complimentary luggage storage, which was very inconvenient, especially for travelers arriving early or leaving later in the day. More importantly, there was a serious issue regarding privacy and housekeeping procedures. In most hotels, rooms are cleaned only when guests place a “please clean” sign on the door or explicitly request housekeeping. In this hotel, staff went door to door knocking, and when there was no response, they entered the room directly. This felt intrusive and disrespectful of guest privacy, and it was quite uncomfortable. It also seems inefficient and unnecessary for the staff themselves. While the room size and general comfort were fine, these service and management details were disappointing and do not meet the expectations of a hotel at this level. With better respect for guest privacy and clearer housekeeping protocols, the experience could be greatly improved.

GGuest UserThe breakfast is good, the location is also very good, close to the train station. The front desk and breakfast are opposite the room. There is also a parking lot. There is no car. I don't know how the parking lot is charged.

TTravelshortsI am stayed at Hotel Mercure Salzburg City for two nights during my time in Salzburg, and it turned out to be an excellent base for exploring the city. What made the stay even better was being upgraded for free to a premium room, which included a complimentary mini bar — a very welcome perk after a day of sightseeing. The premium room was spacious, clean and modern, with a comfortable bed, good lighting and plenty of storage space. The free mini bar was a nice extra touch, allowing me to relax in the evening without needing to head back out for drinks. The hotel felt quiet and well-run, which made it easy to rest, even though it’s located in a busy and well-connected part of the city. Location is one of the hotel’s strongest points. It is less than a 10-minute walk from Salzburg’s main train station, which is ideal if you’re arriving by rail or planning day trips to places like Hallstatt or Vienna. It’s also around a 15-minute walk to the centre of the Old Town, meaning you can reach Salzburg’s most famous sights — such as the Cathedral, Mozart’s birthplace and the Hohensalzburg Fortress — without needing public transport. Airport access is also extremely straightforward. Bus number 2 from Salzburg Airport stops just a minute’s walk from the hotel, making transfers simple, quick and inexpensive. This is particularly helpful if you have luggage or an early flight. I would recommend Hotel Mercure Salzburg City to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel that balances convenience with good value. It’s not overly luxurious, but it offers everything you need for a smooth and enjoyable stay in Salzburg, making it a smart choice for both short city breaks and longer trips.

GGuest UserLocation is close to the train station just within 5 minutes walking distant. There is a daily open supermarket. That's perfect. The room looked claen but I was bitten by something to be suspected as bed bugs at night. We bought Salzburg card at reception at rate lower than websites. However staff is not very helpful. They did not tell us that you can get a free Guest Mobility Ticket during our stay. You need to ask. Also, we tried to scan QR code in the room to request room cleaning service but it requested us to sign in the apps. I asked the staff I failed to sign up the apps and the staff just asked me to go to the reception again in the next morning to request the cleaning and she was not willing to promote their company's apps. Also, during our stay, seems like there were school activities and many kids stayed there. They played and layed on the corridor outside our room door at night even after 9 p.m. The kids were polite and let us way go inside but the door doesn't seem to be very well soundproofed. We can still heard their voice.

JJay Rh.The hotel was more conveniently located for public transportation (trolleybus) to Salzburg city center than I had expected. Many lines pass right in front of the hotel, and there is a large shopping mall and supermarket next door, where we could easily purchase groceries during our stay. Despite the hotel being very busy and crowded with guests, the staff at the reception desk and the breakfast restaurant were all friendly and attentive. The view from the hotel lobby was also very nice. One neutral point is that the hotel's entrance sign on Sterneckstrasse could be improved. We spent about two minutes walking around the building trying to find the entrance. Perhaps you could consider adding more signage or a clearer indication of where the entrance is? Unfortunately, I encountered some issues that overshadowed these positive aspects. Having had a very satisfying experience at a BW hotel in Bologna, Italy (which I hadn’t expected much from since it was just a one-night stay during a road trip, but everything from the breakfast to the bed and interior was fantastic), I had high expectations for this BW Plus hotel as well. Since I visited during a busy tourist season, I didn’t expect an early check-in and everything seemed fine until I entered the room in the evening. First, I found what appeared to be traces of a previous guest in the toilet—yes, a small spot of something brown. It was tiny, less than a quarter the size of a fingernail, but it was still noticeable. I have poor eyesight and often get scolded by my wife for not noticing things like this. I also noticed similar dried brown stains on the bathroom floor, which I assumed were the same thing. The showerhead had limescale and mold, which didn’t leave a good impression. These are issues that could be easily resolved with a bit of bleach, and I thought it would be nice if the housekeeping staff paid more attention to such details. The most disappointing thing was the pillow filling, which I’ll simply attach a photo of here. Many guests, especially those from Asia, praised the breakfast highly in Google reviews, so I had some expectations. However, having stayed at many hotels in Europe, I didn’t find it particularly special. In terms of taste, I would rate it around 70-80 out of 100. (To be specific, I would compare it to breakfast at other four-star hotels like the Grand Hotel International Prague or the Holiday Inn City in Düsseldorf) In conclusion, despite these issues, I still want to give the hotel a 4-star rating. This is because I was able to book a room just two weeks before my trip for a rate of around 150 euros per night, which is quite reasonable during peak season in this area. I am confident that with a little more attention to cleanliness and room hygiene, this hotel could quickly improve its customer satisfaction. Despite the concerns about hygiene, I was overall satisfied with my stay at this hotel. This review is written not as a criticism but as a form of encouragement. Thank you to the staff and management at the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg hotel.
