We recently stayed at the Woodroffe Hotel and unfortunately our experience was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the property had a strong unpleasant smell throughout the common areas and hallways which made the stay uncomfortable.
There also appeared to be a number of people staying at the hotel using council/centrelink vouchers or something as a lot of the hotel guests looked like they were under the influence of ***** and alcohol, which made us feel quite unsafe coming and going from the hotel, especially with kids.
Our room was very old and basic. The air conditioning struggled to work properly even when set to 16°C the room only felt slightly cool, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The TV was also very outdated with no smart features or streaming capability.
The only positive part of our stay was that our bar fridge was broken when we arrived, but staff did come and replace it straight away which we appreciated.
Overall the hotel feels very tired and in need of renovation however, the biggest reason I would avoid this hotel and not recommend anyone stay would be the amount of other guests staying that seem to be under the influence of ***** and alcohol.

I was expecting better experience since I’m staying in an ensuite room, but the bathroom didn’t provide any shower amenities, and the room was quite messy — possibly because of other tenants. When I entered the room in the afternoon, there was no air conditioning, so I had to walk to the front desk to report it.
The receptionist was very professional, and I appreciate her helping me contact a technician.
By the way, the entrance to the ensuite requires going through the restaurant next door to access it.

Overall, I was satisfied, especially with the excellent location right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, surrounded by restaurants and shops, and just a short walk to the beach. The only downside was that the facilities were a bit old and the decor was very simple. I noticed a smell in the room and asked the front desk for an air freshener, which helped a lot. The front desk is on the second floor, and when we arrived at 11 PM, the door was already closed. We rang the doorbell but no one answered, so we had to call to get someone to pick up. They asked for a 100 deposit, and I paid cash to avoid any issues with credit card refunds.
The hotel boasts well appointed guest rooms and suites, featuring ocean or hinterland views from your private balcony. All rooms offer air conditioning, cable TV, wireless connectivity and most feature a private balcony and the option of upgrading to an ocean view room or deluxe room. We provide the ideal location for a family holiday, short break or business trip.

We arrived at the hotel at 11 PM. We had booked two rooms. A female staff member at the front desk helped us extend our stay in the original room type. However, during check-in, we found one room was on the 16th floor and the other on the 5th, which was inconvenient for looking after an elderly family member traveling with us. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so a room change wasn't possible. The front desk staff advised us to check out of room 505 by 10 AM the next day, store our luggage at the front desk, and then move to room 1604 after 2 PM.
After checking in, we realized that checking out of one room at 10 AM would disrupt our family's rest, so we went back to the lobby to negotiate keeping the original rooms without switching. A new shift had started, and a male manager in the lobby along with two front desk staff members repeatedly checked the system. The manager on duty sternly and rigidly informed us that we had only booked for one day and had to check out tomorrow, stating there was no information about an extended stay. It was quite embarrassing and frustrating, so we immediately tried to re-book an extension in the lobby. The hotel refused to process the extension and, in front of us, the front desk manager refused to answer calls from Ctrip customer service.
At 12:48 AM, a Ctrip customer service representative used my phone to try and negotiate with the front desk manager, but to no avail. Our request was simple: to extend our stay in the original rooms without changing. Ctrip customer service was very helpful, informing us they would email the hotel's housekeeping department by 9:00 AM the next day, explaining our need to extend in the same rooms. At 10:00 AM the next morning, hotel housekeeping woke up our entire family, asking us to check out. We informed them of our request to extend in the original rooms, and after that, the hotel didn't contact us again.
We are extremely grateful for Ctrip customer service's excellent assistance in the middle of the night. Despite the cold, rigid, and unyielding attitude of the hotel's front desk manager, Ctrip actively advocated for our rights, and for that, we are very thankful!

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from Surfers Paradise beach. There's a shopping center next door with an indoor shortcut directly to the beach, so you can get there without stepping outside. A tram stop is right outside the hotel, and a public parking lot is also very close.
The downsides are also location-related. Ocean-facing rooms might hear the beach night market, but it's definitely better than the river-facing side, which has a bar that's so loud on weekends it's impossible to sleep.
Cleanliness is only average, or perhaps it depends on the cleaning staff you get. We changed floors midway through our stay, and the room cleaning service noticeably improved.
Service was a major disappointment, especially at the front desk. I booked a deluxe family room, and despite there being plenty of empty deluxe family rooms with ocean views, the front desk twice refused to switch us. They only changed our room after I provided proof of an identical, empty deluxe family room on the same floor with an ocean view. Before that, even after I repeatedly mentioned that the noise downstairs outside our room was affecting my child's sleep, they wouldn't move us.
Additionally, despite being a family room, the sink was designed too high, without consideration for families. Children can't reach it, and there was no small stool or footrest available. The sink area was also very small, making it very cramped for a family's toiletries, and the faucet was an unreasonable distance from the basin, causing water to splash easily onto the side.
The breakfast was a feature that attracted me when booking, as having a daily buffet breakfast is very convenient when staying in a hotel with children. It was generally decent and standard. On weekends, they had freshly made omelets, which was a bonus.
Another characteristic of this hotel is that the deluxe rooms are on lower floors than the superior rooms. Logically, higher floors offer better views. However, their deluxe apartment suites are on the top floor. Also, after staying for a week, I noticed this hotel hosts a significant number of group tours.

The hotel's ocean view room was unfortunately blocked directly by the Q1 observation deck building, so the sea view could only be seen from the left and right sides of the observation deck. The front desk staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. Every time, they thoughtfully arranged our two rooms on the same floor next to each other, which was convenient for looking after our elderly parents. The rooms were spacious and clean. Note that there are no slippers or dental kits provided, so you need to bring your own. There are two small outdoor swimming pools; due to their positioning, one is always in the shade. Breakfast is Western style, offering congee, fruit salad, milk, yogurt, ice cream, ham, bacon, fried eggs, oatmeal, noodles, and fried rice. The light rail station is right downstairs, and you can tap on for 0.5 AUD. You can get to Brisbane Central Station with one transfer in about two hours.

Very close to the beach and right outside is a bus stop, super convenient! Great location, and there's a popular bagel shop downstairs. Overall, good value for money. The facilities aren't super new, but it's a classic hotel. If you need slippers, toothpaste, or toothbrushes, you can just ask the front desk. Recommended!

It is the new Airbnb is an apartment as a hotel type, so many things are not perfect. The App writes 2 o'clock check-in. When I have to register, I am told that the room has not been cleaned up. It takes 3 o'clock to check in. It is then told that it is not good. I have to wait again. Then the app also writes 12 o'clock checkout. But After asking, it was 10 o'clock. This would make customers very confused, okay! ? And there is a foreign waiter who has a bad attitude! Secondly, after checking in, I found that some places were not very clean and there was no check-in information. For example, the Wifi password, the location of the swimming pool gym, did not inform you that you have to ask in person! On the same day, I encountered that the Wifi was broken and I had to repair it for two days. I couldn't use the TV at all! Accommodation is good Location close to Seaworld not far from downtown But because it may be a lot of new things are not perfect I hope they can improve!

Its best feature is its location, steps from the beach. However, it's a hotel that has been downgraded; some rooms and hallways are in dire need of maintenance. I didn't realise the pool area no longer belonged to the hotel, which was a disappointment. I feel the price is high compared to other places with more amenities and more modern facilities. Breakfast was average as well.

Great
XXuanxuanbutinghuaThe hotel's front desk service was quite good; they even gave a small gift once they knew I was a Marriott Platinum member. The room was a bit damp, but clean enough. It's great for kids; we spent three days enjoying the hotel's beach and pool and didn't even want to go out. While the amenities can't compare to a water park, they were still very good. We'll definitely go back. The hotel breakfast was decent, just a bit crowded, so you had to queue.
GGuest UserI booked an apartment, but the service was surprisingly good. I was a bit worried based on previous reviews that apartment service might not be as great. Due to heavy rain and a flight delay in Melbourne, I didn't check in until almost midnight. I asked about adding breakfast, and the lady at check-in immediately registered me for a Langham membership, saying I could get 50% off breakfast using that membership number. I wasn't happy with the view from the first room. Later, a very beautiful Asian lady at the front desk had a colleague show me a new room, and I only switched once I was sure about it. Super awesome!
MMubamumaThe views are unbeatable! I watched the sunrise over the ocean right from my bed 🌅. The location is absolutely amazing! You just cross the street and you're on the beach – literally a few steps away, nothing like those places back home where you have to walk 5 minutes and cross a road. The hotel pool is fantastic and the surroundings are lovely. Eating out in Australia is so expensive, so the apartment hotel concept here is brilliant. We bought some noodles and veggies at a nearby supermarket and cooked a delicious dinner, which was so much more cost-effective. Plus, there's a washer and dryer, perfect for catching up on all the laundry I didn't get to in Sydney. Having clean, fresh-smelling clothes again was such a relief! I could easily stay here for several more days; it's super convenient for the beach, shopping, and theme parks like Sea World.
AAnonymous UserGreat stay! Perfect for kids and adults alike with the choice of both the pool and ocean. Just wish I had booked the sea view. I couldn’t fault the service especially when addressing an issue with our parking.
TTang MENG HANThe location is super convenient for shopping, dining, and water activities. The staff are incredibly enthusiastic and proactive; they promptly addressed our room issues. However, the facilities are a bit old. For a five-person room, having only one bathroom was a major drawback; we had to wait ages just to get ready. Also, if you're like us and want to sleep before 11 PM, be aware that this area stays lively until 3-4 AM. Definitely consider if this suits your needs before booking.
GGuest UserSurfers Beach Holiday Apartments was a great place to stay for our family. The management was helpful. Rooms were of a good size. The location is quiet. It is a easy walk to catch the G:tram. This makes getting to Surfers Paradise or other locations easy. Riding the G is also much cheaper and easier than trying to find parking for the car. While we were there, there were few people using the pool. Our grandkids had a great time... and mostly had the pool to themselves. I didn't realize there wasn't an elevator.(My fault for not checking.) Being on the third floor normally wouldn't have been an issue. Because of health issues for one of our family members, it would have been easier if we had been on a lower floor. If I had contacted the management when booking they said they would have tried to give us a lower floor. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.
Oouliana routLocation of the resort is very good, on the river, close to the Surfers Paradise central area and walking distance to the beach. It has lots of free garage and on site parking. It has tennis court, beautiful pool with hot outdoor spa , gym and dry sauna. All service desk guys were very attentive and helpful. Downside is that the resort is old and needs lots of maintenance. All common areas are in need of a facelift. All units have individual owners. The unit I stayed had blocked sink in the bathroom and bed mattress in the bedroom was worn out and sagging to one side. Lucky me I was able to sleep on the other side!
MMelzza23Unfortunately we did not have a great stay. We booked 3 apartments for a family vacation and all 3 had issues. All 3 apartments had faulty air cons. 1 air con didn’t work at all and also a toilet in that apartment didn’t work either. Also when we arrived, we found one of our carparks had a car parked in it and that 2 other guests were allocated the same Carpark as us. We all contacted the letting company and all guests were told to seek help from the apartment reception who then told us all to contact the letting company as they don’t deal with the private apartments and their carparks. So it was back and forth for hours, we even visited the office twice until the car was finally removed. In terms of the no aircon/ broken toilet room, we were told there was nothing the letting company could do about it as they only have 1 staff member on so we’d have to wait for the next day and that some of our cost would be refunded (We are still waiting). The next day, in the morning the staff member visited and said the aircon is broken and they’ll have to find another room so will get back to us. It was close to the letting company’s closing time and we hadn’t heard back so we followed up only to be told there’s no more rooms available and our family would have to make do with the fans. Our family members in the no aircon room got sick from the heat/ stuffiness even with the doors and windows open. The amenities - lagoon, gym and pool are awesome So it was really unfortunate we did not enjoy our stay due to the lack of upkeep of the apartments and the service.
