Great
GGuest UserSuper Stylish and well maintained and clean. The service was great and the team from reception to bar staff were brilliant. The location was ok, but we were quite happy with a little walk, the first day it was about 25 minutes to the old town but not so picturesque. The following day we took a little stroll through a garden route to town which was much nicer. We were there for a concert, which was about a 20 minute taxi drive. We used the facilities from the roof top bar, enjoying the tacos and cocktails of an evening, as well as breakfast on the Sunday. We also used the lobby bar which was very relaxed. We didn't get around to trying the Peruvian restaurant, but it looked nice.
DDaki75The hotel and rooms are great. The parking is easily accessible and spacious.
Ask for a room away from the boulevard, as it's very noisy – that's the only downside.
The breakfast is expensive, but it's one of the best brunches we've had on our travels.
AAnonymous UserPros:
1. **Convenient Location:** The hotel is right above various transportation hubs, including bus stops, tram stations, and a subway station.
2. **Close to Train Station:** The train station is large and very close; I walked there in 8 minutes, and the path was good, making it easy to pull my luggage.
3. **Modern Room Amenities:** The room has full electronic controls and air conditioning, so the hardware facilities are quite good.
4. **Modern Art Vibe:** I really liked the modern art atmosphere throughout the building. There were also many art books by world-renowned modern artists nearby, which I took some time to browse.
5. **Fresh Linens:** The bedding was relatively new, well-laundered, and neatly ironed.
6. **Excellent Breakfast:** The breakfast was fantastic! There was a chef making omelets to order, smoked salmon, and a variety of hot dishes every day.
7. **Shopping Nearby:** There's a large shopping mall and a commercial street just across the road.
Cons:
1. **Housekeeping Issue:** One day, I turned on the 'make up room' light and left. The housekeeping department didn't clean my room. When I returned in the evening and saw them outside the neighboring room, I asked them to clean mine as soon as possible, and I went to the lobby to wait. After an hour and forty minutes, I came back, and the room still hadn't been cleaned. This felt disrespectful to me. I spoke to the front desk, and after a few more tens of minutes, I inquired again, and the room was finally cleaned. This issue didn't happen again.
2. **Water Stains:** Some of the facilities had white limescale, which should be cleaned more thoroughly.
AAnthony Kan CHVery convenient location with only 1 min walk to metro. Big hotel with a lot of rooms and the rooms are in good size. Rooms are clean and nice and with coffee machine provided as well.
GGuest UserThere was some renovation work going on in the hotel, so the hallways weren't as clean, but the room itself was gorgeous with a beautiful city view. The only drawback was that the bed wasn't very comfortable. The room was clean and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay (except for slippers). There was no kettle or refrigerator.
GGuest UserBooked the most basic room there was, as I was there for the F1 weekend, and will not be in the room except at night for resting. The location is nestled nicely between Brussels North Station and the shopping area/Grand Place, so most places that I wanted to go were walkable. I didn't interact with many service staff except when I checked in and out. Shower pressure was poor; it could have been better, considering the water pressure was quite strong. In terms of cleanliness, you could feel the grime on the carpet when walking barefoot. There was mould all over the pillars and walls of the room and toilet, and a musky smell coming from the cupboard. There is also no air-con in the room, when I say no air-con, I don't mean it is spoilt, there simply isn't one, so expect the room to be stuffy, especially on hotter months. I was lucky as the temperature at night was around 16C, so I used the portable heater as a ventilator fan.
GGuest UserThe hotel room itself was very clean upon arrival and maid service was fantastic. The room was basic but met all of our needs. The bed was very comfy and extra pillows were supplied. The bathroom came equipped with a hairdryer and clean towels supplied every day. The shower head was broken and the design is slightly flawed, which meant the bathroom floor flooded upon use. This was perhaps only specific to our room.
The location is central. It is a 20/30 minute walk to the grand palace. There is a tram stop right outside and a metro station 5 minute walk away. There are also 2 convenience stores on the street to buy drink and food from.
Overall, this hotel was reliable and comfortable. I would definitely book again in the future.
JJasminHad to quickly find a stay after our previous hotel cancelled on us. There were no problems at all with how last minute our booking was, staff was friendly and everything was clean and nice.
AAdriana Asmaa’It is located in the city, beside double tree hilton and few walks away from a station. It took us 8mins walk to the famous street and the Royal Galleries. The room is really spacious, completes with amenities, good service over the counter about me asking how to go to the Charleroi airport in the morning. It is also very clean and comfortable for a budget stay.
GGuest UserPlus:
The room is really big. So is the bed. It is so big that makes me think as if it is king size bed to house politicians or prime minister from the 80s, 90s.
There is heating both in the room and in the shower
There is air con set in the room( but I didn't try to see if it works)
This hotel is located less than 10 mins walk from Brussels north station
Minus
The room look really old. May be 90s, if not 80s.
There is no carpet on the floor. It is really clean but it is really cold to step on. Bring your own slippers.
The room is dim. And some lights were spoilt.
Even if was told it is a non smoking room, the room has lingering smoking smell. Someone smoked in this room before. I told the front desk, he said he will check but when I return from the city , the smell is there still.
The bathroom has some odd smell. May b smell of roaches, or roaches in the pipes.
The shower curtain smell of mould and damp cloth/ damp laundry.
The heating stop around 2am. May b there is max amount of heating one room could use. Make sure you time your heating usage carefully.
The wall is really thin. You can hear when someone is around the lift, going towards their room or what next door is up to.
I can hear everything happening outside, on the street, from police car n siren rushing up and down, to people wondering on the street, their conversation. I don't feel safe here. I can't relax and sleep.
I don't like the paper cup given together with coffee and the place to brush teeth. May be the hotel suffer too often from being stolen . But that make the hotel rating dropping from 1star hotel to guest house.
The toilet spoilt in the middle of the night and you can hear water flowing all night. Need to maneuver with the old school toilet pull button .
I appreciate the effort they maintain it but personally I don't like it. unless you have really early bus or train to catch, and is on a shoe string budget then it is your choice.
