"The room is clean, toilet clean, i like the soap provided. The setvices also good, i requested to checked out at 1pm, they allowed. The location also near downtown, old port by walking. I used bus 747 to the YUL airport, the bus pickup point also near arounf 350m only from hotel. I read the review before said a lot of homeless but near hotel during I stay njust 1-2 only but not near hotel. Rocommended because room also big enough"

"I was a bit nervous to see my room after reading reviews. It is a 3 star hotel, not 5 so shouldn’t be compared to a 5 star. It is in need of Renos. Some of the things in the reviews applied to my room: the water in the tub would take forever to go down and would accumulate up to the calvrs. Also the lampshades were dirty. But the room was clean for the most part. Other reviews also mentioned a strong smell. It was strong, but it was like a motel cleaning product smell"

"I booked this hotel again on the last day of my return trip. The room facilities, hygiene and environment were still very good, but the floor I was assigned this time was lower, the orientation was not as good as last time, and the window in the room was not as big as last time, facing a big white wall. I contacted the front desk and they changed me to another room. Another thing I didn't understand was that all the bottles of shower gel, shampoo and lotion in this room were empty. After calling the front desk, they sent someone to restock them, which was quite timely. As a high-end hotel, this kind of mistake should not be made."

"What an amazing stay. The hotel is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the crystal suite which is a corner suite with huge windows overlooking the city. The room was so fancy with high end luxury decor and furnishings. The bathroom was huge with a soaking tub and tiled shower. The room was stocked with snacks and a bar with various liquor. I felt like I was back in a Las Vegas hotel. We had a minor issue with a light bulb flickering and someone came to replace it within 10 mins of us calling the front desk. Top notch service. The room was very quiet. We parked in a garage a few blocks down that was reasonably priced so it was a quick walk over."

"Sofitel was an amazing place! We really enjoyed the welcome service, the location was decently convenient, the hotel was clean, and it was close enough to amenities and restaurants. I do wish it looked more pretty on the outside, inside, and there was a more grand lobby. The lobby area was okay, and it doesn’t feel too premium."

"The hotel situates a bit north to the city, the nearest metro station Plamondon takes you 10-15 mins walk. Another alternative way to travel is to take bus route 17 or 160 which is downstairs of the hotel. The hotel doesn’t look new but obviously some renovations had been done before. In contrast to those negative comments I read before, I do think that the overall service was not that bad. The breakfast provides muffin, bread with butter and jam, cereals, cornflake, milk, tea and coffee, fruits. There are staff who are on duty at counter all the time I passed by. They are quite helpful. The down sides include the floor layout of the hotel, as there are four rooms which are located at the end of the floor which takes you down 8steps and walk up a few steps again. For elders with big luggage may not be good at all. Besides the janitors use quite heavy bleaching agents to clean the restaurant and public area which creates some stinky strange smell. The interior renovation was rather coarse, air conditioning is a bit noisy. Other than that you can get what you pay for."
