Overall, it was a fantastic stay! I'll definitely be back here next time, especially since it's so close to Taipei Main Station and Ximen – both are within walking distance. There's also a 7-Eleven nearby. The price was great, but the quality was even better. Personally, I stayed for 4 nights for about 5000 baht. To get to the hotel, you can just pin the hotel's location. There's a bank downstairs, and an elevator and stairs next to it. There's always an old gentleman looking after the building. You can take any elevator and go to the 4th floor for check-in. Check-in is at 3 PM local time, and you can do it yourself at the kiosk, which is super convenient.
For the room, I chose a double bed with an en-suite bathroom. The room size is typical for Taiwan – no window, and it might feel a bit snug, but you can fit a 20-inch suitcase. The bathroom has shower gel, shampoo, hand soap, bath towels, and a floor mat. You'll need to bring your own other amenities. The toilet is Japanese style, and the shower allows for temperature adjustments. The bed and pillows are soft, and the air conditioning works well. You can leave your luggage at the 4th floor both before check-in and after check-out. The staff are incredibly helpful! Highly, highly recommend!
P.S. The pictures are from the internet, but the actual place looks just like this.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe view was fantastic, with a clear sight of Taipei 101 in the distance. The room had a convenient table, perfect for a quick bite or a drink. Since it was an anniversary celebration, the hotel kindly provided a bottle of champagne, which really set a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all polite and had excellent service. And the breakfast was really good too! ♡
KkhtravelThe hotel's interior decor is stunning, with a strong Japanese feel. The rooms are clean and spacious, featuring a private onsen and yukata. Plus, there are complimentary drinks and snacks. If you check in around 3 PM, you can enjoy a tea ceremony performance with free green tea and snacks. Breakfast offers a wide and delicious selection!
GGuest UserAs a 5-star hotel, I don't think they should be promoting self check-in kiosks. A 5-star hotel should provide the expected service, not tell me to use a self check-in machine – I might as well book a 3-star hotel then. And if the self check-in machine wasn't bad enough, it even had problems. Check-in was supposed to start at 3 PM, but when I arrived at 4 PM, it said my room wasn't ready yet? Then I had to go back to the front desk to sort it out. If the machines are so unreliable, why not just let guests check in at the front desk?
Furthermore, before checking in, I specifically requested a high floor, and the hotel even replied that for my room type, the highest floor available was the 29th, which shows they saw my note. Yet, upon check-in, I was assigned the lowest available floor, the 12th. I had to request a change again to get moved to the 18th floor – it's just speechless.
And to top it off, I can overlook the lack of toothbrushes and toothpaste, but shouldn't a room at least come with two bottles of mineral water as standard? I know there's a water dispenser on every floor, but I'm a tourist. Do you expect me to carry a bottle around everywhere? There's a limit to how 'eco-friendly' one can be.
MMJ FERNThe location is super convenient—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, which made getting around the city and to the airport so easy. I always felt safe even when coming back a bit late, which is a huge plus when you’re traveling alone.
The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.
Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a solo trip to Taipei 💛
AAnonymous UserThe room was spacious enough and the bed quite comfortable. The no window situation did not work for me, as I then have trouble to get up, but it was in the room description, so that's OK.
What I liked a lot, was the shower. Very good water pressure and proper ventilation.
What was lacking is tea bags. Kettle and some instant coffee was provided. Tea bags would've been awesome!
Overall, if you can forgive the no window thing, I can definitely recommend this hotel. The location is superb and the style quite fun.
GGuest UserGreat hotel ever! Room is very clean, big, and good smell. Good location of hotel. Very near MRT Ximen exit 5 and Ximending. The staffs are very great, polite, and helpful. Many types of room (2-3-4 beds) with reasonable price. This hotel will the one and only one that I will choose and book for the next Taipei trip.
CChatoeyThe hotel is not far from ximending and station around 6-8 mins walk. The hotel is super clean and smell nice also provide free coffee /cold drinks and snacks .
GGuest UserRoom 717 was clean. The CCTV cameras on every corner of the hallway made me feel secure. However, the hallway floors were very echoey, so you could hear everyone walking by. My double room had absolutely no hooks or hangers, which definitely needs improvement. My room also didn't have any USB charging ports (though some single rooms with private toilets did). There were only two-pin flat sockets, so if you wanted to use a larger international adapter by the bed, you'd have to unplug the fridge or TV. There were sockets by the door and the sink, but they weren't convenient for my use. I stayed for 5 nights, and on the last night, the air conditioning unit outside my window was intermittently loud and frequent, making it impossible to sleep. This needs to be fixed. For a double room, they only provided one key. If you wanted another, you had to pay a NT$500 deposit, which was returned, but without a receipt. When I asked for one, they just scribbled a note and told me to take a picture. I hope they can be more professional about this.
JJerry Lee 61Near shilin station, and shilin night market. No has hotel sign board and reception, need find the door number 59. But can check in easy by online. Door excess using password. Still quite convenient. The room wall and window curtains a bit dirty. The toilet clean and nice.
GGuest UserOverall is acceptable.
Good location, there are shops and restaurants nearby, is convenient to go attractive places.
The only thing is the hotel is old, seems like lack of maintenance and upgrades.
