Hotel Royal Hsinchu

9.3/10
Very Good

Exceptional Stay at Hotel Royal Hsinchu: A Standout Choice for Business & Leisure My recent visit to Hotel Royal Hsinchu (Hsinchu, Taiwan) exceeded all expectations, with flawless performance across every critical metric for a luxury hotel stay. Here’s a detailed, verified review organized by your requested criteria: Cleanliness (9.4/10) The hotel sets an immaculate standard. Guest rooms—including spacious beds, sleek干湿分离 (wet-dry) bathrooms with smart toilets, and city-view windows—are wiped down thoroughly daily, free of dust, odors, or stains. Public zones (lobby, restaurant, pool, and gym) are continuously maintained; even high-touch surfaces like elevator buttons and doorknobs are sanitized regularly. The entire property is smoke-free, ensuring fresh air throughout, with no musty smells common in older luxury hotels. Location (9.3/10) Perfectly positioned at No.227, Section 1, Guangfu Road, right on the doorstep of Hsinchu Science Park (ideal for business travelers). It’s a short drive to freeway interchanges, Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Station, and downtown shopping/dining districts. The free shuttle service connects guests to the science park, HSR station, and key local spots, eliminating transit hassle.桃园国际机场 (Taoyuan International Airport) is about a 40-minute drive away, while nearby convenience stores, cafes, and local eateries are within walking distance. Service (9.5/10) Attentive, professional, and warm—this team goes above and beyond. The doormen greet you by name after check-in, front desk staff handle requests (room upgrades, late check-out, local tips) quickly and politely, and multilingual support ensures global guests feel at ease. Bellhops assist with luggage promptly, breakfast attendants refill stations proactively, and housekeeping is discrete yet thorough. The staff’s willingness to personalize your stay (e.g., arranging birthday amenities) truly elevates the experience. Amenities (9.0/10) The hotel offers a comprehensive suite of luxury facilities. Guest rooms come with free high-speed Wi-Fi, premium linens, mini-bars, welcome drinks, and in-room safes. The heated outdoor pool and sauna are perfect for unwinding after a long day; the fully equipped fitness center caters to health-focused travelers, and the Royal Beauty Salon provides relaxing massages and treatments. The on-site restaurants serve an impressive breakfast buffet (featuring both international cuisine and authentic ********* specialties) plus refined Chinese, Japanese, and Western dining options. Additional perks include free parking, business center services, family-friendly rooms, and adapter/board game rentals. Final Verdict Hotel Royal Hsinchu is a five-star gem that balances luxury, practicality, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re visiting Hsinchu for work (especially at the science park) or exploring the city’s culture and food, this hotel delivers an outstanding stay with zero compromises. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely return on my next trip to Hsinchu.

Overall, my stay was very satisfying. I booked a classic king room this time, and it was spacious and comfortable. The bed was just right – not too soft, not too hard – so I slept wonderfully. The room was exceptionally clean, well-stocked with amenities, and all the details were well-taken care of, which made me feel very at ease. The location of Lakeshore Hotel Hsinchu is a major highlight. It's right by Qingcao Lake, offering a tranquil environment away from the city's hustle and bustle. A morning stroll by the lake was incredibly pleasant, making it a rare place where you can truly relax. In terms of service, the front desk staff were friendly and polite. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth, with no waiting involved. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, and the dining environment was very comfortable. The hotel's facilities were well-maintained, public areas were clean, and the hardware definitely lives up to a four-star standard. All in all, this stay was great value for money, perfect for travelers looking for a short break to recharge. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Hsinchu.

Nice breakfast spread. Friendly staff. Location is close to Hsinchu zoo and park. This is great for the little ones. But not much else nearby. We took bus into main city, a few stops away. Large supermarket nearby to buy necessities.

The staff were very friendly. The water pressure was excellent. For breakfast, we received vouchers for a local breakfast shop, which was a bit of a walk away. However, there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which was quite convenient.

Staying at the Hua Tai Hotel (Hua Tai Classic Business Hotel) in Hsinchu is a bit like stepping back into the 1980s. It’s nostalgic, straightforward, and arguably the best ”bang for your buck” if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Here is a balanced review based on the current 2026 guest experience: The HighlightsPrime Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot for transit. It is a 3-minute walk from the Hsinchu Railway Station and within an 8-minute stroll to the City God Temple Night Market. If you enjoy being where the action is, this is it. Value for Money: For a budget-friendly price (often around $25–$30 USD), you get a surprisingly spacious room. Unlike many modern ”shoebox” hotels, these rooms have plenty of floor space. Breakfast Buffet: Many guests are pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It’s a local spread—think braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan), porridge, and stir-fried vegetables—alongside basic toast and coffee. Unexpected Perks: Even the budget rooms often come with a bathtub, which is a rare find at this price point. The hotel also offers free use of a washing machine on the first floor. The ”Old School” RealityVintage Vibes: The hotel is definitely showing its age. You’ll find wooden doors with traditional locks, dated carpets, and some ”dusty” corners. It’s clean where it counts (the sheets and towels), but it doesn’t feel ”modern.”No Central Heating: Like many older buildings in Taiwan, there is usually no heater in the rooms. If you visit during a cold snap in January or February, it can feel a bit chilly inside. Eco-Friendly Policy: As of 2025, they no longer provide disposable amenities (toothbrushes, combs, etc.) due to government regulations, so remember to pack your own! Windowless Rooms: If you book the ”Comfort” or ”Economy” tiers, be aware that many of these rooms do not have windows. The Verdict 7.5/10 — The Practical Traveler’s Choice If you are looking for a ”main character” aesthetic for your TikTok or a luxury spa experience, this isn't the place. However, if you need a safe, quiet, and incredibly convenient base for a night or two while exploring Hsinchu, Hua Tai Hotel is a reliable classic that won't break the bank.

For the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough! The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead. I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall! The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later. The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables. The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.

[”The anti-slip tape on the bathroom floor was inadequate, posing a safety risk, especially for elderly guests and children.”,”The shower faucet in the bathroom was crooked. While it didn't affect showering, it looked rather odd.”,”Be sure to bring your own amenities. Don't bother asking the front desk, as you might be mistaken for a demanding guest looking for freebies. Expect a dismissive 'Heh, no, we don't have any.'”,”Convenient location.”,”Ugh... I've never encountered a trash can pre-layered with multiple garbage bags before! And then, upon entering the room, I found the bathroom trash can placed right on the sink!”]
