As with the other reviews, the service here is amazing. You have the option to have your breakfast delivered to your room. During check-in, the staff will personally bring you to your room. If you arrived early or plan to leave sun moon lake much later after check out, you can leave your bags or luggage to the staff to keep. Staff here also offers tickets to the ferry, bicycle rental, cable car and other services available. The only con is that there is no lakeview, but everything else is very accessible. Bus station, Ferry station, 7-11 and restaurants are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. As for the room itself, the toilet is equipped with bidet. There's also some snacks and teabags for you. Electric mosquito repellent is also available if there's a need to, but I did not encounter any bugs in the room. Room is also modernly designed and most importantly, clean and bugs-free! Bed is of soft and comfortable type. I nearly dozed off while lying on bed. Wifi's strong as well. Would highly recommend to others who plans to visit sun moon lake. This hotel has almost everything you need, convenience, amazing service, and good food.

Great hostel right in the main streets of ita Thao. The bus stop is just up the road and there is shops and small restaurants right outside. The staff were lovely and very helpful- always smiling and greeting us as we passed. The capsule was spacious for a double bed capsule with space to leave some belongings beside the bed. It had good A/C, was very clean and even has a small window which was nice. The bed was comfortable and it was secure with the key card lock. The dorms were nice and quiet. The floor had a lovely bathroom with good shower facilities. Lockers were big and fit all our backpacks. Also has a nice lounging area on the floor as well. The rooftop area seemed lovely if the weather allowed. Washing machines and driers were old and didn’t dry our clothes properly so maybe use the launderette in the town instead. The kitchen area was clean and spacious and has a massive tv. Little extras such as umbrellas outside, slippers for the room and the music area are an added bonus. Would definitely recommend staying here for your trip to sun moon lake. It is modern and great value for money for a hostel.

This is our first time staying in a high class hotel. It certainly felt luxurious, wonderful rooms and excellent service. The attentivness of the staff was fantastic and the buffet in the Crimson Restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was fantastic many many options all of which were high quality, fresh and tasty! The gym for a luxurious hotel was a let down, incredibly basic, but that is my only complaint. The onson baths were magnificent, the naked hot spring onson on site was nice, The views from every room as far as I cab tell are amazing the lake is and landscape is breathtaking and the hotel is cleverly designed to maximise this and the viewing of the landscapes. We stayed in a japanese based room with tatami floors and futon beds. The lake view rooms are significantly nicer and upon reflection I wish I had booked that one, but the japanese rooms was still a great experience and very comfortable. If we were to return to sunmoon we would gladly stay here again. The real highlights are the staff, the landscape/views and the buffet. All make for an unforgettable stay.

The hotel is in a very good location, making it convenient to get around and explore the area. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful, which made the stay pleasant and welcoming. The bathroom appears to have been renovated recently and is clean and modern. However, the carpet in the room and in the common areas are quite dated and does not meet current standards. An update would significantly improve the overall comfort and impression of the room. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay thanks to the location and service, but some room upgrades—particularly the carpet—would make a noticeable difference.

Forest Courtyard Deluxe Quadruple Room (Completed 2026) Section E (E01) Check-in Date: 2026.05.30 (Sat) Cost: TWD 2880 (Originally 3247 - TripCoin 367) The building uses H-steel construction, though the exterior decoration doesn't give that away. The building materials are quite good. The interior decoration is definitely 5-star quality. Most of the main equipment is made in China, and the quality is very high standard. The bidet toilet (JOMOW), shower facilities, audio system (Edifier M230), and room power control device, though made in China, are all of impeccable quality. Overall, about 80-90% of the room's building materials are from China, which shows that Chinese building materials still have a certain level of competitiveness. The stay offered a comfort level of 9.9/10! Occasionally, there are sheep grazing on the hillside below. Hotpot is available for dinner, and there are live singers on weekends, which creates a great atmosphere. Breakfast is Chinese style, with congee served with various Chinese breakfast items, toast, fruit, eggs, and high-mountain cabbage. Beverages include coffee, soy milk, and red bean milk, among others (no Western breakfast options). It's understandable that there might be some common insects and flies in the dining area.

The room was clean and spacious, making for a very comfortable stay. The hotel is ideally located in Shuishe, a stop for the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle, offering convenient transportation while still being quiet. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Sun Moon Lake Visitor Center where you can catch the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle and the round-the-lake bus. Since there aren't many shops or food stalls in Shuishe at night, we chose a room package that included dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style at the hotel, allowing us to relax and enjoy, offering great value for money. The in-room bathtub was perfect for a hot soak, which was very convenient. The service was excellent, and both my friend and I were very satisfied. We'd be happy to book this hotel again next time.

I fully enjoyed my stay at Sun Moon Lake Hotel in terms of their hospitality and beautiful & peaceful location. They have supported me to get to one of the old tea farm which needs special transportation arrangement by arranging a very attentive and helpful driver. They are located at a peaceful quintet location which is about 15 min walk from Suishe visitor centre also nearby secret small water area where fireflies appears at night of spring season. They have a free bicycle service too so I could also fully enjoy both cycling and morning walk to see sunrise at a quiet wooden boardwalk. I would like to come back at the next firefly season. It was lovely staying at the lakeside hotel, which is at the heart of the Ita Thao village. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming and had incredible local knowledge including exclusive deals for local excursions when booked through the hotel. The self service breakfasts were simple (very typical of ********* breakfast) but of high quality and extremely well cooked.

The hotel is considerably cheaper than others in the area with similar-looking rooms and it is brilliantly-located right at the lakefront and only 2 minutes away from the bus terminal. The staff is very friendly and you even get a discount voucher for the nearby bike rental. I booked a room without a window and got one with two windows which is absolutely appreciated. I even had a very large bathroom with a gorgeous and huge bathtub which was an unexpected luxury. Overall the room is clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly, the bed is comfortable enough for a few days, and the the linen and towels were fresh. The interior is dated which didn't bother me me much because it was still as clean as dated interior can get and therefore definitely clean enough for me and for most travellers. I actually kinda liked the old charme. The walls are thin, though it doesn't matter so much because there aren't many rooms per floor. The breakfast was surprisingly nice and located in another hotel right at the lakefront so that you have stunning views!
