Hotels near Messe/Deutz Station, Cologne

The hotel environment is excellent, with a lake across the street where you can see swans and plenty of Canada geese. The room wasn't large, but it was well-equipped, though the window couldn't be opened. I only stayed for one night, but I'd definitely go back for the nice surroundings.

The hotel outside look a bit old but inside the room look very nice the room is big have alot Lots of space. The problem is when I arrive to the hotel around 13.00 the staff in morning shift very unpolite. We when there to put our bag and will go out for sightseeing but the words that she said to me very unpolite way. We know check in time is 15.00 we just want to keep our bag. She said it not check in this yet and she say you want to put your bag here? and I answer her yes that why am here she very unfriendly. She even not check my book. We are going out for sightseeing and come back around 16.30 the receptionist in the afternoon the lady who checking in me very friendly and helpful. After check in the room was nice but in the hotel the provider only 1 bottle of water. I call to receptionist the man pick up my phone I was asking more bottle of water he said hotel set only 1 bottle if you need more you have to pay i was shocked with his answer because in pullman Köln the have complimentary 2 bottles of water but this hotel give only 1 and this hotel no slippers in the room also if compare with pullman Köln I prefer pullman Köln is better. I don't know why this hotel get top 10 in the application of trip.com and Ranked 4th of trip.com.

43 minutes to check in at the counter. The lady couldn't really help it, as she was still at the beginning of her training. However, during this time, several employees and managers walked past the check-in and seemed to think the long queue behind us was normal. At least, no one seemed interested. How can such a hotel put an inexperienced trainee alone at the check-in and only have one workstation occupied? The immediate supervisor was constantly doing other tasks and eventually felt compelled to open a second check-in desk.

When I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe. The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort. As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne. When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time. Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

The advantages are its good location, close to Rudolfplatz metro station, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The hotel breakfast is quite plentiful, the service is acceptable, and the cleanliness is decent, with clean bedding. The disadvantages, focusing on the key points: First, the room is small, probably around 10 square meters. The bathroom is only about 4.5 square meters, and the shower is also small. Besides two disposable paper cups in the bathroom, no other water cups or bottled water are provided. The room is on the second floor, and the elevator seems to have been added later, requiring a half-floor walk down stairs to exit. The room is generally clean, but the carpet is a major disappointment, looking like it could harbor dirt and grime. On the day of check-in, I found two very tiny ants on the desk and promptly killed them; those afraid of insects should be cautious. Also, due to a trade fair in Cologne during my stay, the room price almost doubled; avoid booking during trade fairs if you're going to Cologne.

Excellent. Clean and enough parking spaces (15 euro). Free swimming pool and bathtub in the room are also a big plus for my kid. 2 Large supermarkets across the street. Will come again.

Very friendly service, perfect location though noisy due to its proximity to the train station. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the furnishings were quite run-down: torn bed linen, windows that didn't close properly, a broken lamp, and a shattered lamp in the bathroom.

There are two ways to get back to the hotel. One way is to go from the train station, detour to the subway station, and then come up. This route is better as you avoid the sun and it's easier to push luggage. The other way is to exit the train station, walk past the Cologne Cathedral, cross the road, and reach the hotel. This takes about 7-8 minutes with luggage, so it's a bit further. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage upstairs, which I really appreciated. They also offer free coffee and water.

lovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers.

The hotel is very conveniently located, 3-5 minutes from the central train station. The hotel itself has several buildings. Ours was in the building next door; you had to walk down the hallway, go outside, and then go back up to the 4th floor. There's no elevator. We had a bunk room for four with two double beds. The second room is in the attic. The room was moderately clean, a bit shabby. This is despite the hotel opening in 2026. Apparently, it was a different hotel or some kind of apartment before that. The beds were very comfortable, the mattresses were excellent, the towels were new and clean. The nightstands were okay. The kitchen only had a sink and cabinets with doors that had fallen off. There were no dishes or a kettle. The bathroom door slammed into the coat stand when opened. The view from the window was excellent, directly onto the church. Overall, we're very grateful to this hotel, as it saved us. We accidentally ended up in Cologne during an international gaming festival at the end of August, and all the hotels were either fully booked or had exorbitant prices. This hotel was reasonably priced. Staying there for just one night was a real stroke of luck. We hope the hotel team can work out the room's shortcomings and improve even more! Good luck!
