The hotel is a standalone building, making it easy to spot. It's a bit far from central Seoul, about an hour away. The nearest subway station (Line 1) is a 15-minute walk, and there's a bus stop and a GS25 convenience store about 200 meters from the hotel. The hotel also sells instant noodles on the first floor.
Service: The owners are very nice! One of them is fluent in Chinese and gave us tips on where to find breakfast. You can just put your trash bags outside your room door in a designated spot, and someone will collect them.
Cleanliness: The slippers weren't very clean, but everything else was fine.
Facilities: The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was huge, with a large double bathtub and an electric toilet. The only minor drawback was that the sink was too small and there was no space for toiletries.
Apparently, hotels in Korea charge per person, but I'm not sure if that's true since there was a language barrier and I didn't ask in detail. When I booked on Trip.com, there were reminders to specify the number of guests, so even for the same room, the price varied for two versus three people. I didn't try to avoid any potential trouble and booked for three people. I stayed for five days and overall, I'm very satisfied.

Well, we extended our stay here again. The longer we were here, the more we liked it. When we checked out, the machine checked us out in just a few seconds. As we are now in another country, we miss Seoul and Doksan White.
There are at least 5 or 6 different bus stops within a 5 minute walk that can get you to train stations and other parts of the city. Some pictures of and from a few buildings in the area.
There is also grocery shopping, a Daiso, some good restaurants (great Korean fried chicken) all within a few blocks.

Everything was great except for a slight smell of cigarettes in the room. I was comfortable during my 2-night, 3-day stay, and all the staff were friendly. If I mentioned any inconveniences, they handled them immediately.

My stay at 88 Hotel Seoul significantly exceeded my expectations.
The hotel's location is super convenient, making it easy to get around by taxi or public transport, and there are plenty of dining and drinking options nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and for Seoul standards at this price point, it was quite spacious. The soundproofing was excellent, leading to very quiet nights and a noticeable improvement in sleep quality.
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, responding quickly to any issues without making you feel dismissed. The overall style is modern and minimalist – no unnecessary frills, but all the important details are well taken care of, making for a very comfortable stay.
If you're not looking for luxury but value cleanliness, quietness, good value for money, and efficiency, this hotel is a solid choice worth returning to. I'll definitely consider it first for my next trip to Seoul.

Stayed at MD Doksan Hotel recently and overall had a great experience. The hotel is quite a bit away from the main city, so keep that in mind if you're planning to explore central Seoul a lot. The nearest bus stop is about a 5-minute walk, and the train station is around 15 minutes on foot.
There aren’t a ton of food options nearby, especially if you have dietary restrictions, so you might want to plan meals ahead or be ready to travel a bit. That said, if you prefer a quieter area away from the busy city vibe, this place could be a good fit.
The staff were really helpful and made the stay comfortable. Would recommend if you're okay with the location and looking for a peaceful place to stay.

Worth for Value to stay!!!
This is very convenient accessible hotel to stay that surround by Subway(Guro Digital Station, 10min walk) and also food street nearby. Receptionist very helpful to request and willing to help. They provide daily simple self service breakfast with Ramen, bread, cereal, and banana, if this can be further improvement with alternate day change in menu. All the food at the cafeteria is serve for whole day, especially drinking water.

Accommodation in Seoul is pretty pricey and brands such as Hilton, Accor, Shangri-la eyc are few if not available. Lotte brand hotels as well as shopping centres, food outlets and entertainment are dominant across S Korea.
Not familiar with the brand, it was about location vs price and after research found this hotel offered reasonable value. Its about 45 mins by Metro from Seoul Station, or there is a Airport bus that stops outside.
Its about 10 minute walk to the hotel from the nearest metro station (Green Line) Guro Digital Complex. We had a trolley for carriage children! and a number of suitcases. We managed to wheel them to the hotel using a multi storey carpark lift as its stairs otherwise.
Lots of eateries around the metro station including good BBQ venues.
Check in was ok, the staff friendly dealing with our booking.
The rooms are on the small size, though clean and adequate. House keeping do a great job and friendly.
Breakfast was not part of the room rate. We added it for one morning to try, its cheaper if booked night before or 'penalised' with a higher price if on the morning.
Our first impression was it looked good, though unfriendly staff in the breakfast room spoilt this, and the quality of food disappointing.
For subsequent mornings we discovered the most amazing bakery that serves incredible and high quality breakfast dishes, breads, cakes and more substantial lunch options. Coffee & Brunch.
Frankly, inside was just everything necessary: up to charging, haircuts, toothbrush, haircut, shaving and much more. The only thing, not cleaned in the room, but for such a cost you can tolerate. To the metro minutes 7. Once you will pass and already very easy to get to the straight.

Just as the reviews said, the room and bathroom were clean, which was a relief.
While it's not too far to walk from the nearest station, Geumcheon-gu Office, it does take about 20 minutes, so I recommend taking a taxi from the main road.
The hotel is in a multi-tenant building, with the front desk on the fourth floor. I was having trouble finding the entrance, but a local man guided me to the elevator. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a Starbucks, Mega Coffee, and a convenience store. There's also a small Oryang.
For some reason, the Wi-Fi in my room wouldn't connect to my smartphone, and it wasn't even showing up on the network, so the front desk staff helped me connect to another Wi-Fi network. I appreciated their prompt response, even though I don't speak Korean. The hotel also had instructions to contact the front desk if I wanted towels changed or the room cleaned, but they did so without me having to contact them, which was very helpful.
Gwangmyeong Sum provides flawless service and all the necessary facilities for visitors.Stay connected with your associates, as complimentary Wi-Fi is available during your entire visit.

It's convenient because you can pick up as many towels, amenities, and water as you want! I requested a non-smoking room, but when I was shown to a room that smelled of cigarettes, they were happy to change my room! When I checked out, they saw me off to the elevator with a smile! Thank you!

Great
RRoger Ow YongFirst time in Seoul and stay in hotel. Hotel was excellent: receptionist is helpful and courteous. Check in and out is fast. Hotel facilities is excellent too. Water pressure is high, with separate restrooms. Living room had a sliding door to close to separate restrooms and washing basin. Had a small vacancy is more than enough. Location is the best walking distance 2-3mins to hongdiv MRT station exit 9. Overall is professional and high standard of living. I surely with stay again for next trip to Seoul never regret . I like make commitment to housing keeping for the well done, receptionist will help to call taxi for customer . Well done !
TTharunKlWe had an exceptional stay at Nine Tree Premier Hotel Insadong by Parnas. The biggest highlight is its unbeatable central location everything you could possibly need is right at your doorstep. From shopping and great food options to easy access to buses and the subway, it truly doesn’t get more convenient than this.
The hotel is modern, very clean, and well-maintained, making it perfect for a comfortable stay, especially when traveling with family. The vibrant Insadong area adds even more charm, with plenty to explore just by stepping out.
The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to assist, which made our experience seamless.
While it’s not overly pricey, it offers excellent value for money and is absolutely worth what you pay.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Seoul!
GGuest UserThe hotel boasts convenient transportation. You can take the airport bus to and from the airport, and the drop-off point is also where you catch the return bus, which is super handy. I took bus 6015 and got off at Myeongdong Station. After getting off, you'll see Subway Exit 8. Head towards Exit 8, and at the first intersection, turn right and walk straight. (Make sure you don't go past the CU convenience store; it's actually right opposite Exit 8.) It's quite close, just a few hundred meters walk. The hotel is also very close to our embassy, which gave me extra peace of mind. Every morning, I could see the embassy from my window seat. The room was a bit small; opening a 28-inch suitcase made it feel a bit cramped, but the hotel's cleanliness was good. The soundproofing was excellent; even though it's in lively Myeongdong, it was very quiet at night, which was fantastic.
GGuest UserMy stay at HOTEL BOTANIK's Deluxe King Room in Myeongdong exceeded my expectations. The room had a modern, apartment-style feel with brand new facilities and full amenities, making it ideal for those planning a longer stay in Seoul.
The in-room amenities were definitely the highlight. The air conditioning had a control panel for temperature adjustment, and it came equipped with an AirDresser, a washer-dryer combo, a separate fridge and freezer, an induction hob, and a microwave oven. Inside the cabinets, there was even a wine cooler, wine glasses, and mugs, giving it the feel of a small boutique apartment. Charging was also convenient, with both USB and Type-C outlets available, and the bidet toilet had a full range of functions. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation design, and the water pressure was consistent, making for a very comfortable shower.
However, there were a few things to note:
The kitchenware provided was quite basic, with only two plates, which might be insufficient if you plan to do a lot of cooking. Also, laundry detergent wasn't provided in the room, but you could purchase it at the front desk if needed.
There are several construction sites near the hotel, but surprisingly, the soundproofing was excellent during my stay, with no noticeable noise at night. My sleep quality was quite peaceful.
Overall, this hotel is more of a ”high-functional type” accommodation. The facilities are new and highly practical, feeling more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a traditional hotel. It made for a very comfortable stay.
GgobacktonovemberThe hotel is very nice + very newly designed hotel.
Pros:
-nearby the sinsa station/area (but required around 5-7 minutes walk there)
-Big and cozy bed for two people
-Toilet with good warm water
-Good amenities
-Good space for 2 luggages to fit (big ones)
-Has a very nice cafe on the rooftop to see seoul city
-Able to see seoul towel from our room!
What to improve/Take note:
-the staff service at night can’t really speak english so sometimes I don’t understand what they say abiutbthe deposit when checking in.
-No microwave/only fridge available
-The walkway is actually on the slope/hills (the picture doesn’t show that much that the hotel is on the hill so anyone who has big luggages or on snow time it is recommended to book an uber on the winter time)
AAmelaineWe enjoyed our stay at hotel manu. The room was spacious for 3, and did not have odor. I liked that every time they clean it, they leave a fragrant aroma to the room. The place was also quiet and did not have a lot of noise or caused any disturbance. They did not give free toothbrushes, but overall, the room was excellent and clean. They also provide netflix and youtube on the smart tv, which was a plus for us as well. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay.
BBokexierdienThe hotel has a great location. It's just two turns away from Chungmuro Subway Station Exit 8. Airport buses 6105 and 6011 also stop near Exit 8, making it very convenient to get to the hotel.
It's a fully self-service hotel with a self-check-in machine that has Chinese language options, which is super handy.
The room door uses a key code, which is easy to operate. The bathroom is very clean, and there's a slight step down from the toilet area to the shower, which prevents water from splashing out.
Myeongdong is also within walking distance. I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Seoul.
AAnonymous UserStayed in a twin room in March. It was on the 4th floor, facing the main street with a tower view. The hotel's email after booking made the check-in process clear and easy to understand, which was helpful. Although the pre-arrival information stated that toiletries like shampoo wouldn't be provided, they were actually available in the room. Even though there was no Wi-Fi in the room, they offered pocket Wi-Fi rentals, which made my stay very comfortable. The toilet had a bidet, but the paper couldn't be flushed and had to be put in a trash can. This wasn't a big issue as I was prepared for it beforehand (the trash was collected when the room was cleaned). Considering the convenience, I would definitely consider staying here again.
MmunimunitantanThe room looks exactly like the pictures. The bed was really comfortable and clean, with no strange smells (housekeeping came daily to clean and empty the bins). The bathroom was spacious, making for a pleasant shower experience. We chose a quad room, and there was enough space to spread out my luggage. There are also lockers for valuables, but you need to bring your own padlock. The accommodation is on the third floor with no elevator, so it's a bit of a struggle if you have large luggage like I did. Also, the beds don't have curtains, which can make you feel a bit exposed. Since the room is small, any noise, like using the toilet in the middle of the night, is amplified, and I worried about disturbing others. However, for the price, I'm very satisfied! No complaints at all!
AAllysh@comfortable place...close to dongmyo flea market..have to wait for more money because it's random when walking, wash your eyes at dongmyo flea market..close to laundry..wanting to wash clothes in the middle of the night is ok..,,😂😂😂
